Definitely one of my favorite movies. Loaded with laughter. Upon ordering this DVD, it appeared different from the one photographed on the site. The one I received did not say digital copy on the top, upon opening one was available on the usual redemption cards with a code. Unfortunately the code was expired and wasn't able to download my digital copy. Reached out to the link provided and they weren't able to assist with a digital copy of DOPE, but was given the option to select from other options of digital copies of other movies for redemption. The movie I've seen multiple times and bought it purposely for the digital copy. Atleast I got the DVD, Definitely a great movie worth watching.

I like the main character am from Inglewood, CA. but grow up in different cities around the Southern, CA area. I was not a nerd like the main character but not a thug either. In reality most of the kids I grow up with were somewhere in between, and like the main character it was by chance or by circumstance that we made the decisions that changed our lives.This is a great coming of age movie from a different perspective that you are use to seeing in Hollywood movies, with lots of laughs and a great performance from the main character.

“Dope” is not the movie that you probably expect when hearing the title. I want to stress that. The word itself has negative connotations (with most thinking immediately of drugs when they hear it), and though it certainly deals with things of that sort, it isn’t really that simple. The few definitions of the word are addressed at the beginning of the film, most notably as a slang term referring to something that is “very good”. "Dope" shows the constant struggles of being a moral teenager engulfed in a society driven by illegal behavior and surrounded by peers who are nudging you onto a more dangerous pathway than on which you'd like to travel. People with choices and decisions to make that are often times as big or as impacting as the ones adults make. The difference is, however, adults come equipped with life experiences where teenagers generally come equipped with their own instincts and peer pressure in their decision-making.

I was in love with this movie when it came out in theaters and I couldn't wait for the movie to be released on Blu-Ray. This movie follows three kids from South Central LA trying to stay away from the drug/gang life. Things go terribly wrong when they attend a drug dealer's party and unexpectedly find a ton of ecstasy in one of their backpacks. It has drama, it has comedy, it has wit, and it has adventure. And if you grew up or a huge fan of 90's culture, you won't be disappointed.

Awesome coming of age story starring written and directed by Rick Famuyiwa (The Wood, Brown Sugar). The movie stars Shameik Moore playing Malcom, a college bound 90s geek who feels trapped by his surroundings. Social norms, stereotypes, and his own expectations have him feeling like he doesn't fit in any where. All of that changes one day after a local drug dealer's bday party goes awry. Very funny, shot wonderfully, with an awesome 90s soundtrack. A must see.

It's an entertaining movie about a high school teen who is trying to get himself accepted into Harvard. I thought some of the plot was a little exaggerated, but I really enjoyed the jokes throughout the movie. Blake Anderson is funny. He's supposed to be around the same age as these kids but he's at least 12 years older. Strange casting.

Didnt have an opinion before watching this flick, caught it on MTV2 one day an it was way better than expected and a must own for dvd collectors alike - item arrived as advertised brand new an sealed thx best buy.......

I bought this movie because it received good reviews....and they were right. The plot was definitely well structured. Some parts were definitely a stretch, but they worked well to tie the movie together. Good acting for new faces in Hollywood.

Good script and direction. Good characters, and Shameik Moore gives a great and memorable performance. Kiersey Clemons is hilarious, she gets some excellent one-liners. Charismatic cast in general. Despite its possibly super dark subject matter, it's a really fun movie.

Dope is both funny and engaging as a predicament movie (for lack of a better word). I was amused throughout, and I thought the movie was well acted and well plotted. Not your typical high school movie.

Great fun film, one of the best of 2015. The only problem I have with the Bul-Ray; the special features are weak, just a music video and one behind the scenes feature. I wish there was more to it. Other than that this movie is great and definitely recommended.

If you missed this great film in theaters this past summer, it's worth a glance on BLU RAY. While I do wish that there were a commentary on the blu ray, I will be forgiving because it's such a great movie.

My teenagers wanted to see the movie and I was inclined to purchase it and watch it with them. Turns out it was a great coming of age film with a little bit of everything mixed in just right! This is s great movie!

One of the best movies of the year. This movie dives into what it likes to be an outcast in the black community and takes a look at the current stereotypes in American society. Also the soundtrack is great.

I just rewatched this movie and it was just as good, and better, than the first time I saw it. This movie pairs well with a previous one from this director, The Wood. Really good story too.

This movie is a lot better than I thought it was going to be. If you're a fan of 90's hip hop you'll definitely enjoy the soundtrack.

Wasnt sure what to expect. Picked it up on a friends recommendation. Was definitely not disappointed. Incredible movie!

One of the best movies so far I seen , had to get bluray after I seen it , if you haven't watched it , your missing out.
