Really good combat and interesting story. A little campy at times so if marvel movies make you roll your eyes maybe avoid it.

I think the hate this game received wasn’t warranted. I enjoyed the gameplay and the story.

The combat is much improved over the previous iterations. The story is just as compelling. There are a couple of moments where it feels like things could have been explained better, but overall, the game is a great return to form by Bioware. Ignore the hate from the agenda fueled “reviews”. I’d give it a 9 out of 10.

Dragon Age: Veilguard is a solid but uneven entry in the series that left me feeling a bit mixed overall. The characters are engaging and the world-building is as rich as ever, but the pacing drags in places and the combat, while flashy, sometimes feels more style than substance. There are definitely moments where the story shines and reminds me why I love Dragon Age, but some clunky dialogue choices and technical hiccups pulled me out of the immersion. It’s not a bad game by any means—fans will find things to enjoy—but it doesn’t quite reach the heights I was hoping for, landing it at a comfortable 3 out of 5.

I pre-ordered this because I was curious about it. I sat out the last two iterations of Dragon Age. I played the original on PC when it was first released and loved it. You felt that your choices in the game mattered to the story arc. So, I figured what the heck, I’ll give this one a try. What follows are my thoughts. 9 hours into the game. The graphics of the game are spectacular. Some of the views in the game you just want to look at and admire. That being said, once you’re in the cities, while they look nice, they are mostly window dressing. You can’t interact with citizens at all. They may have a blurb here or there about their life or the situation, but that is it. Not much to work with. The main quests are the bread and butter of the game, and you will spend a lot of time, of course, on them. But the side quests are relatively boring for me so far. Mostly helping a companion discover her new powers or something like that. Pretty boring. Also, there is a romance system. However, I don’t find anyone attractive enough to date my version of Rook. So, there is that. The fighting system is where the game really loses me. I love a good turn-based fight in an RPG. Sadly, they take the route of Final Fantasy VII's fighting system, and it is hack and slash. This is combat at its most basic, and enemies are pretty boring. I have set the game on story mode now so I can blow through the combat and beat this 75-dollar investment. Finally, the story is fairly standard, and so far, I don’t feel like my decisions have any meaning in how the story plays out. The banter between the characters can be fun, and we’ll see where it goes. Overall, it’s a pretty meh game, to be honest. I’ll still beat it, as there is nothing new to play for me. I will also say I feel like Bioware is no longer the gaming powerhouse they once were. I do not have great hopes for the next Mass Effect, as I feel like they have officially lost their way. Hope this helps.

It plays alot like god of war. And really the woke garage only follows one character. Once you start playing its obvious on who it is. The combat is were it shine. The stories well are not like any other dragon age. Feels more like d.a.2

Great game! Breath of fresh air after so many games lately have zero story or are so hard you can never finish it if you work for a living. Game look great. Makes it worth spending the money on a PS5 after so many games lately, only seemed to have 8 bit graphics lately.

Such a fun game, granted it has its issues, but overall enjoyable, especially if you're a fan of the series. I just wish they'd let us implement key story choices from the past games.

The game is a great RPG. The story is good. It soes touch on some subjects that some may be bothered by, but im only concerened about playing a good game. The main issue i had with it is it doesnt resemble the older dragon age games much, in my opinion at least. The tone and the art style are very different, not bad, just not what i was expecting from a DA game. All in all a very good game thought

The game has good action in it, though the controls are meh.
If you're a dragon age lover, you'll either love or hate the story.
I think a lot of the characters just turn into yes men. I will continue playing it to finish but I doubt I pick it up again after that.
Objectively, this games reviews will suffer because the lore and world building isn't up to par with the rest of the series

Not a bad game, but definitely wasn't what I was expecting from a Dragon Age game. They seem to have gone down a more cartoony and PG-13 kind of vibe... Most characters seem like they are in high school. Seems more like they're more focused on grabbing the younger crowd than appeasing us old folk that grew up on the games. The combat is entertaining, though. I'm a completionist, so I've been slowly pushing through to the end by doing 1 or 2 side quests per session and then stopping for the day. I was excited and bought it as soon as it launched for $70, but definitely don't feel like it was worth the money.
