I loved playing the original and the new high definition remake takes me right back. The classic art on the inside of the label is awesome too.

Dragon Quest I+II HD Remake is exactly what I was hoping for as a longtime fan. It keeps the classic feel of the originals but updates everything just enough so they’re actually fun to play in 2025. The new visuals look great on a modern TV/handheld, and the orchestrated music really surprised me—familiar tunes, but way richer. The biggest win for me is all the little quality-of-life changes: better menus, quick saves, clearer maps, and far less grinding than I remember from the old versions. Battles are still simple, but in a cozy, relaxing way. It’s the kind of game I can pick up for 30 minutes at night and feel like I made progress. If you’re new to the series, this is an easy entry point, and if you grew up with these games, it’s a nostalgic trip that doesn’t feel dated. A couple spots still feel a bit old-school vague, but overall this is a fantastic remake and well worth picking up from Best Buy.

I Got my husband this game because he mentioned it was his childhood game. Needless to say I should have waited until Christmas. He has been stuck on it since launch. I fear he's going to go into the new year playing it. Either way, 5 stars for keeping my husband occupied

The fact that this is a remake of an NES game is astounding. This stands up to modern RPG titles strong! If you like HD-2D games and RPGs, definitely consider checking it out.

Beautiful graphics. This hd remake modernized these all time classics. A must own for fans of the series. Its also a great entry point for people who have never played before

This game is beyond amazing. Nostalgic with an awesome rework of all fight scenes. Revamped sound and voice over puts this game over the top.

These Dragon Quest remakes are super charming and cozy, while remaining challenging and largely faithful to the originals. These are retro jrpgs, so along with the charm, be prepared to sit back and grind through random encounters and unvoiced npc conversations. But its worth it.

Not much to say. If you liked the original game, or this style of game, you'll like this remake. Looks clean and plays well.

even though i have played DQ 1 and 2 on nintendo switch, this remastered version gave me better feeling of why this franchise has been loved by generations.
