Dragon Quest has always been a fantastic series, and these remakes are great for anyone who wants to experience them again or for the first time. Even though this is the “3rd”installment, you won’t miss much if you haven’t played played 1 & 2 (especially since 3 is a prequel of sorts). Beautiful environments, a really fun party system, and a really great taste of the “good old days” of gaming.

A throwback jrpg from back during the NES days, remastered and glorious for todays gamers

This is my first Dragon Quest game. I’m an avid jrpg player and this game is great! The upgraded visuals in HD-2D really look incredible!

Challenging and grindy, classic turn based combat, incredible artstyle and visuals. I’m a big fan of the HD2D style.

A faithful remake of the original Super Famicom version, with a large amount of new features. But make sure you start with a thief.

Fun game, but very easy on standard mode. It really guides you through everything to a fault. I recommend playing on challenge mode if you're looking for something closer to the older versions of the game

Other than character sprites that sometimes move a little strangely, this is truly an example of how a good remake for a game should be done. The fundamentals of why this game is a classic are all here, but with improvements and options that all make sense and ultimately enhance the game. DQ III is also on its own an excellent classic JRPG with great characters, a fun party system, and a nice degree of challenge.
