This was the movie that basically was a response to show Hollywood how to do a real Dragonball Z movie, and not the terrible excuse that somehow got greenlit and shown in theaters years ago. So, while the animation was good here--it lacked the charm of a traditional Dragonball Z movie/episode, as the main bad guy was just too powerful, and couldn't really be defeated in any form. Goku, as always--has to be THE guy to save the world. Vegeta, as always--has to play second fiddle and becomes the joke. The animation here varies from being top-notch, to being lazy in certain scenes. You'll know too, especially when characters body proportions start looking weird. Was the story great? No. Was it good enough and serviceable for the length of time to watch it? Absolutely. It's not ground-breaking by any means, but as previously stated, way better than the live action movie. If you're a fan of Dragonball Z or the other arcs, pick this up or borrow to see what all the fuss is about.

I thought it was decent. The animation was outstanding. It was great hearing the original voices and seeing all the characters. I am more of a Vegeta fan than Goku so it was good to see him cut loose a little. If you watch with your kids beware that there is some cursing. Don't expect to see much fighting from any supporting characters though.

This was a creative little movie that takes you back! A super saiyan free for all. The only down side I'd the villain. Not that big of a danger zone time. Make sure you watch the director's cut though. It has much more footage including action. It's probably not one of the better DBZ movies, but stil none the less worth a watch.

The movie was not what we expected from anime of the past it was too short even with the extended version. My son asked me why it just seemed to end. In the past the dregon ball movies always excited him this time it was just over with no real epic dragon ball fight. No what we expected.

I had seen the movie in theater and the extra minutes in the uncut version added some classic dragon ball hilarity, but there was a lack of bonus features on the disc.

I love the Dragonball universe, but this last effort was lukewarm. There were some nods to the past, but overall I was never vested in the characters or story.

The movie was fun to watch and great to see all the old characters back. The action was not as packed into this cartoon as one would guess from a Z movie.

This Dragon Ball movie was alright but I wished I had rented it and not bought it. The story line wasn't that great to me.

Your typical DBZ story line. An overdramatic enemy and carefree Goku with its comedic cast of characters.

If you watch the series, you get most of the movie. diehards need this.

If you are familiar with the dbz franchise then you will end up being disappointed in this film.
