I haven't seen this since i was a child. Bought on a whim, and it did not disappoint!! Classic, must see movie!!

It's very rare for a film to exceed my expectations. Until recently I had never heard of this film so it isn't to say that I put a lot of pressure on this film to deliver. Having said that, the premise, characters, and execution really took me by surprised. I've seen the idea of the government controlled experiments with the mind tackled before with Firestarter and Scanners, but this film offers something new and exciting and for once that isn't just hype. What these operatives are able to do with the power of the mind in the realm of dreams is thought-provoking, pun very much included. I am a writer and this single film inspired an entire tv series for me. I've often heard of Scanners as X-Men meets The Fugitive, and while Dreamscape isn't quite that kind of mashup, it is far closer to that mark than the former film is.

This movie was entertaining and very enjoyable to watch, I would totally recommend this to family and friends… Movie had a good story line/plot pretty good acting and again pretty enjoyable… If you’re a 80's fan its a must watch.

I love the movie and the extras included with the Blu-ray. I've had to buy a new copy every few years because I introduce others to it and they walk off with it. I've had a VHS copy, a DVD copy and now Blu-Ray.

Great sci-fi adventure story that is so unique and ahead of its time. Story is well crafted and displays some great acting. Makes you want to watch it over and over again!

Classic 80’s throwback, Max Von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and David Patrick Kelly, brings back lots of memories as a kid watching this!!

Overall this was a solid sci fi movie like Inception, if parts of the movie had not been cut I would have given it 5 Stars

Ok, sure it's a little dated now but this movie has such a cool concept. I don't know why it took me so long to add it to my collection.

Scifi chestnut from the 1980s that holds up well enough. Wealth of extras make this an easy buy.

Dreamscape is pretty much a forgotten movie, which is too bad. It had a huge influence on bigger movies like "The Matrix" and "Inception." Basically, the government is experimenting with psychics going into people's dreams to help them work out their nightmares. Naturally, evil forces soon see potential, because the President is having nightmares. And if you die in your dreams, you die for real. The acting is generally good, although there's one person so identified with a tv character that his appearance is jarring. I liked that Dennis Quaid's hero isn't pure gold; he can be a bit of a jerk at times. The special FX were okay for the time, but look rather cheesy today. Generally a good time, and it would certainly be on my list of movies which would be good choices for a remake. Lots better than doing Texas Chainsaw for the tenth time or yet another zombie show, for sure.
