Customers love that the XC - 2K QHD Dash Cam seamlessly integrates with Compustar remote start and alarm systems. The LTE feature is particularly well-received, with users describing it as amazing. Overall, the product seems to be a hit with those already invested in the Compustar ecosystem.

Love the concept just not the video quality

I have compustar alarm on two of my vehicles, and got this one thinking it was a great idea but camera alarm goes off for any reason and shock sensor on it goes off too, so i hade to turn them off on app. Which already makes no sense to have features that you cant use. But video quality is not worth 379+, also keep in mind the plan you would have to get with the camera to be able to view live image is 2 gigs a month for like 10 bucks but you cant get a plan with more gigs to be able to view it often during the month. You will be able to view maybe 45min worth of video a month if not less. But for me the biggest disappointment was the video quality, i cant read a street sign from being stopped and 20 feet away so keep that in mind.

The concept here is pretty good! I like that it gives me remote start and alarm functionality from anywhere on the planet with a cell signal (and you can log into the web portal) but the video streaming is lackluster and you only get 2 gigs of streaming per month. For the amount of money I pay (over $50 per month) id expect unlimited streaming so that's a disappointment.

I've had nothing but problems since purchasing this product almost a year ago.
- You will need to separately purchase a battery charger/maintainer because this device will suck your battery dry quicker than a sponge soaking water. DroneMobile will tell you that you need modify your record settings in parking mode, but no matter which setting you choose, your battery will still rapidly deplete even if you drive your car every day like I do mine.
- The quality is horrible. The field of view is not nearly as wide as it boasts and the picture and video quality is sub par. You're better off taking a mental picture of whatever you see and putting it on an Etch A Sketch! Forget about viewing anything if there is even the slightest bit of sun glare from any angle.
- There is a massive delay between when the camera decides to begin recording and the video captured. Meaning, when you view the live video and/or recorded video, whatever you are viewing happened about 4 seconds ago. What's the point of having live viewing or capturing video when it's 4 seconds too late? Someone walked down my driveway to my car (from the rear) and got in front of my windshield to place something under my windshield wiper. I should have been able to see his face as he was walking toward my car. Nope. I did get to see him walk away, though, as his back was turned.
- Though it's fixed now, for many months, the time stamp on videos (live and recorded) was incorrect. I bought this camera setup because someone broke into my car. Thankfully, it hasn't happened again. Imagine submitting video evidence to the police with an incorrect timestamp. When I initially reached out to DroneMobile about this specific issue, their response was simply "Thank you for reaching out to us. There is currently no way to change the timestamp."
- Many, many nights I would receive an alert on the app that a stage 2 impact occurred or that the windshield was broken. Thankfully, they were all false alarms. Do you have any idea how unnerving it is to receive an alert that your car was damaged or potentially broken into?
- Here's the scam: In order to utilize some of the best and more advanced features, you have to pay for their LTE service plan. For the peace of mind, I was more than happy to. However, every time the alarm triggers, a capture gets uploaded to the cloud which is what I paid for. It does not distinguish between an actual alarm trigger or a false alarm trigger. With the amount of false alarms this thing triggers, you will burn through your data plan faster than you can blink. And when you do, your account gets locked. Meaning, any data reliant features are unusable until your monthly cycle ends. AND, you have to contact DroneMobile to tell them to unlock the restriction after the monthly cycle reset because they DO NOT do so automatically.
- Now DroneMobile will tell you that if you don't want to drain your data plan due to false alarm triggers, turn off the feature where captures are uploaded to the cloud. Imagine paying for a premium plan to use a premium feature and being told that you shouldn't use it because of a faulty design on their end (false alarm triggers).
I was a million times happier with my Viofo camera setup. The only reason why I chose to go with the DroneMobile setup was to take advantage of the live viewing and GPS location features in case it gets stolen. But, as one other reviewer pointed out, the GPS feature is wasted because it can easily be circumvented. I won't repeat how, but there's no point in buying this for the GPS location feature.
DroneMobile got my money. Don't give them yours!

Works great, the alerts are very helpful as thieves have tried to steal my car twice in one month causing damage to the steering column, but this alerts and I'm able to check live feed and get to my car within a minute.
Four stars because the required subscription doesn't provide enough streaming time.

Most dash cams are pretty crappy and all are about the same poor quality. DroneMobile makes amazing aftermarket car starters! I love starting my car anywhere from my Phone! Now with this dash cam, cabin cam, and rear cam; i can see who is driving my car, how fast they are going, their location, and what the road looks like behind and infront of them from anywhere. You no longer have to next to the camera to view footage or save something. I would always forget to save footage so it would end up earasing over time. Also trying to connect to a dash cams wifi or bluetooth takes so much time but using LTE I no longer need to be in the car to view it! Also normal dash cams don’t do great showing license plates but the quality from this one based in ads looks amazing!

Will lose the ability to track car (Please Read)

It's a good product. But here are things to know. If you have the full system alarm and starter, the dashcam will replace your X1 LTE. This is NOT good because if someone breaks in and cuts the wires on the dash cam (which are easily accessible), you will lose the car's trackability. The great thing about the X1 LTE (tracker) is that it is hidden within the car dashboard and requires know-how to disconnect. Overall, it is a good product as far as dashcams are concerned, but if you drive a highly sought-after car (Hellcat Redeye), this product will not work for you. That is the reason why I returned it and went back to my Nexar system.

I have one of these in each vehicle, it gives great peace of mind and the app is so easy to use. Everyone who sees it says they need one!
