Another masterpiece of cinematography from director Christopher Nolan. I admit I was hesitant to see it given the subject matter, but once again Mr. Nolan brought much heart and life through solid camerawork and a compelling soundtrack. Some of the SteelBooks, though, looked like they had some paint chip damage on the edge--not sure if it's a production issue? All in all, a great movie.

This is the most Nolan of all Nolan films, and yes, I do include Memento in that list. His films like to play with time and space (cinematically speaking), but Memento, Inception, and Interstellar rely on storytelling gimmicks -- effective gimmicks, but gimmicks nonetheless. Dunkirk, in contrast, being based on a real event, eschews this, and the result is Nolan’s best work to date.

This is one of Christopher Nolan's best films. The visuals and cinematography are truly masterful and the story telling is well done. I would highly recommend this film and it is definitely one worth seeing on the big screen in the future.

Dramatic and compelling, this movie will keep you at the edge of your seat! Nolan is at his best here. Watch this one, for sure. You will feel like you are in the dogfight in your living room.

One of Christopher Nolan's best films. I thoroughly enjoyed the dramatic interpretation of a significant WWII battle.

This movie does a great job of retelling an important moment of WW II. You will enjoy the movie while learning history.

Great movie simply not fully reflecting what happened. Cranes did not exist before the 50s Dunkirk has been fully destroyed (visit Dunkerque and you'll see...) French troops were taken down OK I'm too picky it's Hollywood.... Movie itself is fantastic but a fiction with many respects

I bought 1917, Midway, and Dunkirk 4k Dvds this past month. I like Christopher Nolan movies (Interstellar, Inception, Dark Knight, etc) and figured a Nolan war movie would be awesome. I really tried to enjoy this movie but I was clearly let down after a half hour. I honestly could not believe how terrible and scattered the storylines were throughout the movie. Kind of circling the mole, the sea, and the air settings the whole movie. You get to see these small personal struggles for different characters throughout, always building up intensely with dramatic music, the protagonist just squeaking by every time. It was just too obvious for me to enjoy. Usually Nolan keeps you wondering wth just happened, but not here. A pilot lands in the ocean and his pit window is jammed shut. Trying to pry it/ break it for 5 minutes straight.. the water is slowly filling... he takes his last gasp of fresh air and viola, a civilian on a boat busts his cockpit window open to save him. Like drag this on for 10 minutes when a 10yr old could decipher the outcome as soon as he crashed and realized the window was stuck. This was just one instance but that was pretty much the shock factor of the whole movie. The action is tame, the plot was scattered and obvious, and dialogue was often muffled. I honestly have no reason to hate on this movie... it was just so bad. Maybe the worst movie I have ever watched. $30 straight down the drain..

Not an accurate account of what happen'd ! My Mothers boyfriend 95 years old was there.He was very disappointed in this movie. Hollywood is especially terrible when it comes to factual accounts ! and getting worse !!!

No slip covers in any BB NYC stores is unacceptable.
