I watch on the documentary and Dunkirk was an bravery story of the solders but this movie doesn't live up to the story.

Nolan makes brilliant films. Had to add this one to the collection too. Can’t wait to see what his next project will be.

The film was very interesting and presented a good picture of how it must have been when the rescue at Dunkirk happened.

Air, Sea, & Land - more about survival than warfare but amazing practical effects. Can’t spot one time CGI was used.

Dunkirk is a visually incredible movie! Christopher Nolan is one of my my all time favorite directors.

What are these people with their one star reviews talking about? Unlike most of the ghastly war films made recently, this stays nearest the truth of what happened and eschews the ludicrous multi-cultural, woke nonsense of films like the Darkest Hour. No mock heroics, just a lot of tense, frightened young men thrown into a disastrous escapade not unlike that of the First World War. And the criticisms that there weren't enough soldiers in shot. Well, look at the pictures. Excellent acting from the old timers Branagh and Rylance and no duffers amongst the young ones either. I bought this Blu-ray expecting not a lot, for less than the price of a bottle of Milton. And it is far superior in scope and sentiment to the stiff upper lip 1958 version - which was fine for its time. Excellent subtitles and a host of extras in this very English understated film.

I never knew about this story until I saw the film. Thanks to Nolan for bringing it to life in breathless detail.

Dunkirk's UHD image is stunningly vivid and refined, with a level of fine detail rarely seen on a home video display. Wherever one looks, the tiniest minutia are vivid and immediate, whether it's the fibers and strands in nautical ropes, the rivets of a Spitfire fusillage as it chases and evades German fighters or the understated patterns in the sweater vest worn by young George, as he tries to do his bit aboard the Moonstone.

Missed this in the theaters so looking forward to seeing it now. Came quickly and in sturdy packaging.

I place this movie on the same level as Saving private Ryan. It sounds great in a surround sound setup.
