I'm a huge fan of Zombie games and this one doesn't disappoint. I love the fact that it is a first-person shooter. The graphics, the story line, the player controls are on point! The game developer is actually getting ready to release a huge update to an already huge open range game which will bring new life and new game play. Plus, the DLC is so reasonable compared to other game's DLC too! I highly recommend this game. You will not be disappointed!

Great game overall. There is a ton of stuff to do and so much content. The combat feels natural and once you start leveling up, you can really feel your character getting better. But as you get stronger, the game keeps the difficulty ramped up right along with you. If you are worried initially about the game being too easy, stick with it. It gets very intense and terrifying at night. I only play at night now because it is that much different of a game.

Dying Light was developed by the same folks who brought us Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide, so it's no surprise that there are many similarities among all three games. What's new in Dying Light is the difference between night and day - literally. Unfortunately, the difference between this game and its predecessors isn't as notable. In Dying Light, your job is to track down a special operative who has become something of a cult leader in the wake of the zombie apocalypse. During the daytime, you'll scrounge for weapons and materials that can be used to upgrade your weapons. You'll climb a lot of buildings and run along rooftops like the Fist of Justice, but you won't fall into very many dinner parties. It's all about the parkour - and later on, about using your grappling hook, which is a pretty cool development (think of the teleport ability in Dishonored and you'll have it about right). At night time, you'll also run a lot - and scream, and curse, and panic, and mash buttons - anything to get away from the 'volatiles' that hunt the nights. Sunlight - or any form of UV - is lethal to these monsters, so they only come out at night, and they're game to make up for lost time by being extremely vicious and hard to kill. Nor are the volatiles the only nocturnal zombie types you'll encounter... some want nothing to do with you, but their rotting flesh can be used to make extremely potent weapons. Make sure you can tell the difference. There's nothing too revolutionary here, but the interface is slick, the UI is decent, the control is... original, but good, and there's plenty of content and side missions to keep you occupied. Better yet, team up with your friends, or random strangers in true zombie apocalypse style, to smash zombie heads together as a team. Oh yeah - if you liked the music in that movie It Follows, you're gonna dig the music here, too. This is a fun game, and it's well worth the money.

Dying Light is the latest Zombie outing from Poland's Techland Studios. It's a fairly enjoyable game, much better than Dead Island but it does have a number of issues. The controls are a little strange but you get used to them. It plays like a mix of Far Cry and Mirrors Edge. I'm not AT ALL a fan of pushing the left stick down to run or right bumper to grab onto ledges. The music is okay, but it needs more variety. I like the sort of ambient 80's style synth, but the music never changes and gets rather old. The voice acting is okay. The protagonist (who is a very stereo-typical "dude-bro" ) is voiced by the same guy who voiced Chris Redfield in the newer Resident Evil Games. My only issue with the sounds, are that some of them are kind dumb. Like when you set off an explosion you there is the background sound of zombies breaking through a door and attacking. What the hell? It's scary the first time you hear that because you think a bunch of zombies are coming to get you. But then you realize it's nothing more than the cheap sound effects you would hear at a Haunted Maze or House around Halloween. Basically the same sounds get used over and over and it gets old fast. Overall, I do like the game. The Skill Tree is very meh. There is tedium in the side quests and weapons constantly breaking unless you obsessive compulsively repair them (very irritating when you have a good weapon mod attached.) The story is forgettable and totally cliche'. Dying Light is just a slap em, chop em up and and beat em to the ground Zombie game so don't expect to much intelligence .. so to speak. If your a fan of Far Cry or other first person Action games you will probably love it. But expect your IQ to drop a few points because like the zombies it focus' around there is very little intelligence in this game.

Game looked cool but had my reservations that it'd actually be very good. It was a complete surprise, the game is really spectacular. If you've been itching for a true online multiplayer campaign experience on next gen this is it. You and 3 of your friends can play the story from start to finish. Combat is more challenging and not the type of zombie game you just go chop up thousands of them, great story, cool items.

I had my doubts but as soon as i played and got into the story line i couldn't resist not finishing the game. For the main story line and no side quest it took me 15 hours to finish. That's not a speed run. That's me taking my time and figuring out how to play the game. As for the side quest. There's many side quest so there's always something to do either before or after finishing main quest line.

Good graphics, good control once you get used to game play. It starts off rough, where you're constantly out of stamina and clumsily swinging weapons blindly. It's by design, as you're just getting used to being in the situation as well. It improves through your skills improving, your weapons and crafting improving, and through your character's talents improving. Way better than Dead Island.

This is a great game. If you like zombies, weapons customization, parkour with no limits on where you can climb, and intense action....then you will love this game. The graphics and soundtrack are very well done. The character models you can tell at times that the same characters are being recycled with minor changes but it's not too big of a deal. Highly recommended game....especially at the sales prices they have had going on

Admittedly, I watched more than I played, but if you've played Far Cry 3 or 4, it feels a LOT like that. Just, with the addition of zombies trying to eat your face while you're interacting with people or objects. There's also lots of materials to pick up from random containers throughout the world, and a crafting system to make use of those materials, so if you're into that sort of thing, you'll probably enjoy this game.

Let's start off by saying this is just a fun open world game to kill zombies while running on rooftops. It's like mirrors egde meets 28 days later. The missions are okay. Mainly find something bring it back to the person and you get something in return. Playing with friends is so much fun. Watch your friends back while they pick locks or all of you just dominate a herd of zombies. At night. It's a different ball game.

Me and a buddy of mine get on and play co-op with this game. It is very fun but there are a few flaws that could make it better. One issue I have is so far ALL THE ZOMBIES look the same. They are all bald and pale. They look good but too similar. This game needs some kind of a fast travel, vehicles or time waiting like Skyrim. I know half the fun is traversing the landscape so most people will not want a fast travel system, but getting to a mission during the day only to find out you have to do it at night and then there is no wait period sucks. Weapons break WAY TOO EASILY. I feel I make a weapon, and after 10 hits it is broken. That is not fun either. In Co-op both of your characters have to be standing right next to each other to get a mission or turn one in. That is really lame. That out of the way, the parkour and graphics are awesome. Zombies even though they all look alike are really detailed and can be a challenge to kill. The leveling system is fun to use. As you hit zombies they take real time damage to whatever body part you hit. There is co-op challenge modes as you are playing the game. They just pop up while you're doing missions. I have not gotten far enough to talk about story, but so far you're the only person in the world that can do anything so everyone comes to you for everything. Someone needs Antzin, you go get it. Someone needs to find their kids, you go find them. Someone needs some T.P., you go get it. ETC........ So if you liked Dead Island or enjoy curb stomping zombies you will like this game.

    Dead Island 2.0

The developer behind this game is the same dev that made the Dead Island games. If you had played either the first DI or DI: Riptide, then you'd instantly feel how they two games are similar to each other. However, the graphical and technical glitches that were present in the DI series are all but nonexistent in this game. There are some issues with framerate drop when there are a lot of zombies on the screen with fire and whatnot, but that's much better than what DI had. The co-op experience is also much better, as is crafting items that are in your inventory. No longer do you need to find a designated table to do this, but can do it on the fly anywhere in the game. The story isn't the best ever, but it does the job. You start off the game parachuting into present day Turkey where there are an Olympics style games being held, and the population has been infected with a mutated form of rabies. You are a GRE agent, tasked with getting a file back from a rogue agent who has made the city his personal playground for death and destruction. The leveling system is also pretty decent, allowing you to do things like dropkick, use a grappling hook to get to tall places faster, and even smear zombie guts on yourself to help blend in to not get attacked. Overall, the game is what the Dead Island games should have been. Fun by yourself, even more fun with friends. A couple of technical goofs (seemingly because of the console and not the game) keep this from 5 stars but I would recommend it to anyone who likes FPS/RPG mashups.

Go any where, do almost anything open word awesomeness. Dying light give's a little bit of everything, from hacking and slashing your way thru hoard's of zombie's, amazing next gen graphics, custom weapons, an actual story line, to just plain creeping you out. Been playing destiny for a while till this released. Now I'm pretty much on this Dying light as much as possible.

The game wont blow you out of the water but it is a great game to get if you like a game you can burn up a couple hours here and there. The beginning is really difficult unless you team up with a friend that has more powerful weapons. I really think to get everything out of the game you need to play with friends. I definitely got my moneys worth out of it and will probably still go back from time to time.

So many delays had hit this game that I nearly forgot that it was to be released in February. I was an enormous fan of Dead Island's open world MMORPG so naturally I was even more excited for Techland to work on Dying Light. I was not disappointed. The game begins just as you would expect. An introduction of characters, what is happening and why, and a tutorial of controls. The best feature by far is the added parkour. Being able to run and jump at great speeds has many great benefits. You can get almost anywhere on the map. This is especially helpful at night when zombies become very aggressive. You will constantly be warned before the sun goes down to find a safe house to sleep the night away, but who wants to do that, right? XP is doubled at night. To me, the story was OK, but that is just me. It takes a lot to wow me. The best part is doing this with your friends. Whether you are progressing on the campaign together or just slashing zombies, you will all gain equal XP together no matter who achieves what and you can share weapons and gadgets. If you were a fan of Dead Island you will love Dying Light. It's a change of pace for the next generation of consoles. I'm a little disappointed in the DLC content that they have announced besides the "horde" mode but that will not release until May. I also hope that the moding community is running strong on this game. That was one of the best parts of Dead Island. Give it a shot.

This has proven to be an outstanding game all the way around. The graphics are impeccable, no glitches, sound is amazing, the story line is great and there are so many side jobs to do, it will keep you quite busy. Great job and this is proof that next gen consoles are just going to keep getting better and better. A must have game for your collection.

This game is fun to play and it a great improvement over this developers other games. Movement is fluid and works well in the game. At times searching for items can be tiresome but in the end you'll be glad you did. The story moves along at a pace that allows you to do some free roaming. I would recommend for anyone that enjoys zombie survival games.

This is a mix of left for dead and walking dead. It truly feels like walking dead the show comes to life, with certain things in the game that reminds me of left for dead. It also has similarities with dead rising such as collecting items and blueprints in order to build weapons. The zombies are realistic and map is incredible.
