The controls are awkward. It works, but just barely.

Purchased it and have never been satisfied. Had to take the old one and use that in the office because the new one just doesn't work well. Tried it on more than one computer and still isn't effective.

High static when recording makes it unusable. BestBuy says it does not issue refunds on microphones. Not worth the (cheap) price.

I needed to purchase a USB mic for an online class. I bought this one because the price was right. It was easy to install (plug and play) and even though it doesn't say it is compatible with Windows 8/8.1 it worked just fine with my 8.1 laptop, My only concern is its durability. A couple of times the mic fell down from the upward position when it was slightly tapped by accident. I would like it to have a little more stability as far as staying upright. I would recommend for casual use, but not for business use.

I had to narrate a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation for a college paper. It is so simple to use and the quality is just fine, the audio comes across very clear and you can adjust the volume as needed.

dont listen to that other guy who rated this mic 1 star, those are the kind of people who walk onto mercedes benz car lot who want to pay the price of a volkswagen and expect to drive away with a benz. this mic is great for talking and gets the job done well...what can u expect for 14 bucks. if u want a really good mic with great sound qualities then u should buy one that over 100 dollars. but if u want a mic for skype and vent then this is the mic for u.

This product works for Windows 8. I had a hard time finding a microphone that would work, though this product doesn't state that it would.. I rolled the dice and in fact does. So no worries there for others. Sound is. as expect, good, not great, but is great for the price.

On my old 2009 Net book the microphone stop working so I need a new microphone and FAST! So I looked on the Internet for a while and I found this microphone on the Dynex website so i head on best buy's website and they had it at my local store I buy it tested it out on my net book i was shocked at the sound it produces it was amazing at this low of a price is spectacular. all in all this is awesome only complaint is the microphone is a finger magnet like crazy!

I couldn't have hoped for an easier microphone. It even works with that Windows 8. And stay away from Windows 8.

I bought this to replace an older model that did not work well on Windows 8. This pic works very well.

I wanted an inexpensive microphone to use with Skype. This microphone gets 1 star because yes, it does record sounds. It gets a second star for using the universal USB Plug-and-Play standard. That's all the credit I'll give it, though. After hearing what I sound like using this mic, I immediately purchased a different one. I'm a large man with a deep voice, but you'd never know it based on what I sound like through this. Very tinny, zero bass at all. Kinda sounds like you're calling from inside a tin can, or through a very narrow glass tube. I know it's a cheap store-brand mic, but I really did expect more for $20. And that should tell you something.

As the above states, it's EXTREMELY temperamental in when it decides to actually work correctly.

It was a simple install, but the sound quality is completely useless.
