It’s really just a sweeper. All the hairs or debris that you expect to vacuum just collect in the front. I purchased this because I got new laminate floors and read that this is for tile, wood and laminate flooring.

Dyson misrepresented this tool's compatibility

Two of the photographs showed an adapter that had to be used to attach it to the vacuum. The adapter did not come with the tool and I could not find it on the Dyson site. Thus I can't attach it and it's useless. The pipe going off the articulating tool is too small. I can't return it and duct tape isn't the answer. Shame on you!

I can confirm that this attachment is best utilized with our full sized upright or canister models, and would be compatible with both our older, and newest technology. We do have adapters available which can be used to make this attachment compatible with either generation of Dyson technology. With this, it’s that exact function but a much wider footprint. Just what I needed.

UNSURE OF THIS ATTACHMENT

Posted .Hi Lynda, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Articulating hard floor tool will fit Dyson upright and canister vacuums. If you have a cord-free machine, V7 or newer, you would need an adaptor which would fit between the tool and the machine, in order for it to properly connect and work. Dust and hair clog easy and cumbersome to unclog. We only use the regular V6 head that works great and does not clog. Tool not needed!

It has been helpful until I got used to the great Dyson! Bit pricey for what it is. Get to know your Dyson first before ordering this.
