Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My mom says it's fantastic, but it can barely pick up a piece of paper 1/2 inch long and I have to go over some small things like dead sow bugs/tiny centipedes for it to actually pick it up... It picks up dust and dog hair very well... But it's more of a high powered duster than a vacuum. The old one we had was better :( pretty disappointed

DC50 is a concentrated machine with the performance like a full-sized vacuum. It is a slim, small, light upright that sits on a ball. Engineering has miniaturized Dyson’s latest technology into a compact machine, without loss of performance. The 2 Tier Radial™ cyclone technology spins microscopic dirt out of the airflow in excess of 138,000 G’s. The unobstructed brush bar picks up dirt and dust from all floor types, with an active base plate to allow for a smooth transition across different surfaces. The brush bar has ultra-fine anti-static carbon fiber bristles to remove fine dust from hard floors, while stiff nylon bristles remove ground-in dirt from carpets. The DC50 has fewer air watts than some full sized machines, but performs like a full-sized machine. I bought this Dyson 3 months ago and am so disappointed. I'm so discouraged at the fact I wasted $400.00. I have to run this vacuum over a piece of lint 3 or 4 times just for it to pick it up. I called Dyson and spoke with Peter on 2/17/15, and he told me that this vacuum is only meant to do small spaces, not an entire house. My house is only 1500sf and is by no means big. A $400 vacuum should do the job in my opinion. As for the "animal" part of it, I have to cats and this vacuum does not pick their hair up out of my carpet. I will not be buying another Dyson in the future, and I don't recommend anyone to waste their money on this model.

DC47 is our compact canister and as our Helpline agent suggested, it is meant for smaller homes where space is at a premium or homes with all bare floors. With that said, there should be no issue at all picking up a small piece of lint. I would be happy to run through some checks with you to ensure there are no obstructions int he machine.
Please realize that the Animal variants include our tangle-free turbine tool for effective pick-up on upholstery as outlined in the user guide.

It stops working if you don' t clean the filter every time by rinsing it and letting it dry 24 hours. cord is so short I add an extension to make it practical to use. Machine falls over easily, cleaning lady hates it. prefers hoover upright or electrolux canister. I use it but I have same issues.

Worst Vacuum I have ever used
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This vacuum was a complete waste of money. I just spent 45 minutes trying to vacuum an 8x10 area rug. It wont even pick up dog hair. I will never buy another Dyson Product again. DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM. I wouldn't even recommend this piece of garbage to my worst enemy.

The DC47 Animal canister vacuum has our latest 2 Tier Radial cyclones. 32 cyclones working in parallel, across two tiers, generate high centrifugal forces to capture more microscopic dust from your home.
