    Does a great job

We first got an Upright Dyson Ball multi floor 2. It is a great vacuum with an excellent suction but unfortunately due to the ball is hard to reach under the furniture what makes your cleaning a little complicated. A couple days after we got it we found about this Big ball bagless canister and even though the suction is not as good as the upright vacuum, it does a great job. It is not heavy and you can reach every space in your home. It is really easy to use and clean. We had our doubts at first so we went to test 5 different canister vacuum that are rated as the top 5 and we compared them side by side with ours and the Big Ball was the only one that could clean and suck all the different samples of dirt we brought with us like dust, cat litter, hair, coffe grounds and more stuff without spreading them around unlike the other vacuums. I would definitely recommend it.

I wanted a canister vacuum because I have all hard wood and tile on one floor and carpeting on the 2nd with a dog and cat. I didn’t want to be racing against battery life either… Those cordless vacuums are probably ok if you want a second quick use vacuum, but at these prices, I doubt it’s practical for most to afford. I’m really not sure why some people have given this vacuum negative reviews because this is a great vacuum, my first Dyson, and hoping it will live up to the quality reputation up for several years… What you need to know before buying: -It does take a bit of effort to use on some carpets, but you will be impressed by what is picked up (and it’s satisfying to see all the dirt swirling around in the collection bin. The tube extends long enough that you’ll never feel like your straining your back or anything. -The brush roller head it comes with works great on carpet and floors. There’s a floor brush head you can buy and it’s nice if you’re ok spending $50 but you won’t miss it. -Mine came with an adapter for older Dyson attachments which is a plus! -Spend the $50 and get the tangle free turbine attachment. It’s amazing for getting pet hair off upholstery. If you’re only going to get one attachment, you won’t be disappointed! -Very quiet when using the brush roller head. -Don’t buy knock off attachments, the Dyson ones are high quality. -Very 21st century looking and cool to look at. -The power cord retracts all the way without stopping and it’s quick. Some critiques but not a deal breaker: -The hose, handle, and tube basically just fall on the floor so you may want to put a hook up in a closet or wherever you store it or it’s just going to fall around the floor. -For the big ball wheels, it takes a a little effort to tug it along. No big deal but its something to consider. -Don’t empty the collection bin in the house or just be prepared that debris will hit the barrel and the dust will plume up. May be good to empty it outside in the trash can or in a garage or basement. -The trap door on the collection bin is only held in place by a small plastic clip when closed… I do have a concern about it breaking so use some TLC closing the bin after emptying. Bottom line: Get this vacuum if you want to get away from traditional upright vacuums and are looking for something small with a lot of power and not looking to rush your cleaning before a battery dies. This is also great for large hard floor areas… The attachments are expensive but they are well made and good quality. The cost seems in line with other quality vacuums in the $4-500.

This product is pretty good. It has decent suction, the floor piece can rotate and get in hard to get places with ease. You can adjust the hose length which is nice when there is a height differential between users. The vacuum is light weight and portable, which makes it easier for kids to be able to carry to clean up messes. I wish it was a little better on carpets. It’s better designed for hardwood floors and low pile carpet. It isn’t going to work as great on high pile & shag carpets. Also, the cord is a bit short. Although, the retractable cord option is nice.

upgrade but a few things aren't as nice as old one

I bought this to replace my previous canister vacuum that was damaged. This is basically the same one - just an upgrade. A few things: 1) they changed how the long stick of the handle (the wand?) is pieced together and i do not like it as much as the older model. To elongate or shorten is not as convenient. The old one connected in the middle so it was very convenient to lengthen or shorten and make adjustments as you were doing the stairs. This one is way at the bottom where the brush head is and the elongation seems to go in reverse so it isn't as smooth. it seems like a small thing but it is inconvenient enough that i wanted to comment on it bc it slows down my vacuuming. on the stairs i was adjusting length with almost every step before and now it is not as easy to adjust. 2) It seems more powerful. but my old one was having issues suctioning so that's why i traded it in. so i can't compare quite correctly. but it does seem quite a bit more powerful. it is louder. 3) the container seems smaller so it doesn't seem to hold as much dirt as before. You have to empty more frequently. Or maybe it is sucking up more dirt so it was filling faster? but it is smaller in size though. 8-) 4) as with the old one i do love that the wand and brush roller are quite slim and light in weight so i can fit it under a very low bed quite easily to vacuum. I have a 4" clearance only with my beds so that is why i wanted a canister with a brush head. but again elongation was an issue bc i had to pull it almost all the way out to adjust. bc to do the closer locations you need the wand shorter as it can't quite bend. so adjusting quickly is an issue. it is actually starting to be a pain. 5) also as the wand and brush roller head are light and small - there isn't room for them to add a light in the brush roller so you can't see where you are vacuuming if you are vacuuming under the bed or vacuuming at night. (i really wish it did have one though. i used to have a shark rocket and i loved it bc the light allowed me to see a lot of dust particles when i vacuumed at night. i only switched to a dyson bc i wanted a canister bc the brush head and wand were small enough to go under my bed. the shark vacuum brush couldn't fit under the bed bc it had this big thing where the wand was attached to the head. and the engine was on the wand so you couldn't go past a certain point). but not enough of a deal breaker for me not to get it 6) i do like the power of this one. 7) one of the reasons i chose it over other dyson vacuums was bc it is intended for multipurpose floors so it is good on both wood and carpet. however if the side breaks on the brush head, it scratches up your floors. the shark was really good on my wood floors and the wheels were nicer. but the shark was heavier as the engine is in the wand. for this dyson, only the canister part is heavy. but you only carry it if you go up or downstairs and it is much lighter than the old canister vacuums from kenmore back in the day. also there is an easy to carry handle. 8) also shark wasn't hepa and this one is. 9) the electric cord is a good length. i can go 2 rooms. it is a lot longer than some other vacuum cleaners so i do like it. I do wish it was just a tad longer by 2 feet though. 10) i originally wanted a bag vs bagless vacuum but the price/effectiveness ratio of this one was good for me. and it is very easy to empty. In conclusion, i do recommend a buy if you know what you are buying. the power is good. the wand is light. i do vacuum every day bc i have a lot of pets. it fills up quickly. the wand adjustment isn't as nice as the older model and that causes some annoyances when you are vacuuming shorter spaces. however the wand length can go to a good size if you are tall. and you can adjust to a good size if you are shorter. and there is no light on the brush head. but it vacuums very well.

Well built and one of the best canister vacuum cleaners I have ever used. Fantastic suction that works great on wood floors as well as carpets. The air turbine powered brush is surprisingly powerful and does well on carpets. The ability of this unit to right itself if you drag it over on it’s side is really nice. The included attachments are adequate, but if you have other Dyson vacs (like the animal and allergy focused machines) you can use those attachments as well with the included adapter. Worth the price for the great job it does on hard surface floors and a real surprise at how well it handles carpet given that the power head is not electrically driven.

Excellent vacuum. We have the cordless version as well, but they don't have near the suction and power of a plug-in model. We use the cordless for daily maintenance and then switch to the corded model for weekly/deep cleaning.

This replaces a Dyson upright that had many years of use. I like it even better because I can pick it up easily and get under beds, couches, etc. much more efficiently. It still has the awesome dyson suction power.

Best vacuum ever. Powerful and easy to clean the filter. Easy to take apart. Tips are all interchangeable. Carpet accessory and extension lays completely flat and low so that I can vacuum under my bed or couch. I don't think you can do that with the other Dyson models since the canister is attached to it. Since the canister is separate vacuuming anything is easier. I would buy this model again.

This thing is an absolute beast when it comes to cleaning the floors in our house. Sure it lacks convenience but makes up for it in power and in price. Wish it had a couple more attachments included but oh well. Does amazing on carpet and surprisingly well on hardwood. Would recommend if you don't mind being plugged in.

This vacuum has awesome suction when using the head. Not as good with no attachment on. Then only downfall would be the shut off is not on the handle and the cord could be longer. Nice and light and I love not needing to buy bags.

I have never had a canister vacuum but had loved my upright Dyson. The only problem I had with my prior Dyson was the hose was too short for doing stairs and it was becoming cumbersome to carry upstairs as I am getting older. Reviews were good for both those problems so I gave it a chance. I am glad I did. The hose is longer for the stairs and it is so much easier for me to carry up and down the stairs. I was worried it would have less power than my upright but it has every bit as much power. My only complaint is the on board attachments don't have a good place to hook on. Have to have them on the hose and they keep sliding down. I have a small house so need the attachments with me to get in all the nooks and crannies so would prefer a better set up for those to hook onto the machine.

What could I say about this product? You get what your paying for, and in this case, you get the best among the best. This vacuum cleaner exceeded my expectations in so many ways. It works better than I expected to, and when you finish the vacuum, the floor is ultra clean since this machine is extremely powerful and it grabs everything. It has various attachments that I loved. If you’re looking for quality vacuum, this is your vacuum. This is not a good product, this is an exceptional product that delivers the finest results in what it does. Don’t hesitate it, but it now. You won’t regret. It’s worth the money.

I went through brand after brand of vacuum over the years, wasting hundreds of dollars and having none of them last for long after the warranty ran out. Then my sister told me about Dyson, and I've been hooked ever since. This replaces my old Dyson that's pushing 15 years old, and still works, although the beater bar is so old it leaks air, so I replaced that old model with this one which is much more powerful, and cleans like a champ. I love my Dysons, and have their hand vac too so I highly recommend them.

Holy super suctions Batman! (I emptied the container 4 times the first time I vacuumed the house with it) Almost to much suctioning, my 10 year old daughter isn’t strong enough to push it across the carpet. Love that it transitions to different surfaces with no changes or adjustments. The Ball design is a better concept than functional reality (it’s pretty clumsy) but hey you can’t win them all. I would also like to see a longer cord and a better attachment concept but you cant beat how hard this thing sucks!

I really like my Dyson Big Ball cannister vacuum. It gets under my beds and other places my upright never could reach. I have an original Dyson upright I bought in 2003 and still use, until the hose split. Dyson is a good investment. The Dyson Big Ball has only 2 flaws I can see. First of all it is a little difficult to pick up some items like spilled cat food. I have 4 cats, so that is an issue. Another thing is that it is hard to empty the cannister, or rather emptying it is easy, but putting it back on is not. All in all I am very happy with it and am glad I bought it. The suction power is awesome!
