Certain products make daily life easier, while others are more trouble than they're worth. Thankfully, for us, the new Dyson Clean + Hygiene makes cleaning hardwood floors easier. This isn't meant to replace a typical vacuum, but rather complement a dry vac. It's made for hardwood, tile, or other non-carpet flooring, and it works well so far. Other reviews mention the difficulty of cleaning it, but I'd say it's rather easy as long as you take the necessary steps. Is it 100% hands off? No. But I could probably teach my toddler to do it. The cleaning is very effective, and the added solution for your clean water makes the floors feel extra clean, but it won't "polish" or anything like that. It'll clean them. That's what it's built for. It's lightweight, easy to maneuver, and docks easily. It has a self-cleaning function that cleans the internals, which takes about 20 minutes on average. It's not as loud as others, but you can definitely hear it drying. I'd say the only con may be the price when compared to other companies (like Dreame, Roborock, etc.). Those companies are determined to make a name for themselves without inflated pricing, so when it comes to this relatively simple machine, I'd say it could be priced more competitively. Still, with Dyson, you generally get what you pay for.

I bought this for my basement and PVC flooring. I recommend it but the main drawback is the size of the dirty water bin is pretty small and you need to empty it 2-3 times per clean water bin. So a little back and forth. It cleans well overall and I am still glad I grabbed it.

For years my family has enjoyed using Dyson's innovative fans, vacuums, & hair dryers. Typically, we find their engineering to be innovative and more importantly - functional. While their prices are often on the higher side, we find that their function and quality usually justifies spending the extra cash. But, with this Dyson Clean+Wash Wet & Dry Hard Floor Cleaner - we are left with very mixed feelings. Before I complain, I do want to admit that the vacuum does technically work quite well. It is light weight, has excellent battery life, is easy to maneuver around (and even under) furniture, and the water residue left on the floor dries MUCH more quickly than with the average mop. But, that is where my praise ends. First, I need to clarify that this vacuum truly is not useful for any dry vacuuming. It is important to know that there is no way to turn off the wet cleaning function. If there is water in the tank, the floor is getting wet. ...And, while it is possible to use the vacuum with an empty water tank - or with the water tank completely un-attached, the compartment that captures dry debris is incredibly small. Also, if the water tank is attached - any dry debris that is vacuumed up off the floor ends up wet and goopy. My second issue is with cleaning the vacuum. After every use, the vacuum head & water compartment needs to be disassembled and manually washed and cleaned. And, even after using the vacuum for a couple of weeks, piecing the components back together is still confusing. Dyson does a pretty wonderful job of including an app containing videos on how to use the vacuum, but the instructions did not explain that the device has its own cleaning function that actually dries the roller. The instructional videos made it seem as though the roller needs to be left out to dry...a process that takes much longer than the 24 hours listed in the video instructions. But, be aware that the self-cleaning process is loud and takes around 30 minutes. If the vacuum is stored anywhere near the living room, you are going to be able to hear it and it will absolutely interrupt your nightly TV viewing. 3rd is the build quality. While the center structure of the vacuum is a metal tube, EVERY OTHER PART OF THE VACUUM IS PLASITC. It feels like plastic and it looks like plastic. And, the plastic is a static magnet for dirt & hair. The vacuum itself is perpetually dirty and always wet. The design of the graywater tank is such that clearing out all of the dirty water is nearly impossible - and if the tank is not held absolutely parallel to the floor, it drips and leaks. While the mop function works well, the physical object does not feel like a quality build. The handle feels especially cheap and the whole device creeks and cracks as it moves along. My fourth annoyance is they styling. Per usual, Dyson swung for the fences when it comes to style. The vacuum is Purple and Blue and Red and Black and Copper and Turquoise - all which ends up covered in smudges and pet hair. I feel as though the vacuum needs to be cleaned more often than my actual floors. While I'm not impressed with the execution - I do think that the mopping feature is helpful to a certain type of person. If you are the type who already mops your floor with a bucket of water and a mop - you really don't need this machine. But, if you're like me, and you almost never mop your floors - this vacuum is quick to access and easy to use. The battery life is excellent, the mop does a good job of actually cleaning (specifically mopping) hardwood floors, the floors dry very quickly, but maintenance and clean-up is annoying. While Dyson certainly has many areas in which they could improve this device, I would reluctantly recommend this as a mop to those (like me) who just never seem to get around to using a manual mop.

Out of the box, the Dyson Clean and Wash is easy to assemble, easy to connect, and up and running in minutes. It is aesthetically modern, with sleek edges, brass accents, and sharp angles that give a futuristic look and a modern touch to wherever you place it in your home. The unit itself feels very well made and sturdy—same with the base. The quality of the materials and the craftsmanship of the aesthetics are not where the main issues lie, which I’ll get to later in the review. Setup: Out of the box, you simply click and place the pieces together, set it on the stand, and plug it in to begin charging. A short video plays on the easy-to-read LCD display, guiding you through the next steps in the process. The LED screen and menus are controlled by a single button press, with a long press for selection. This moves pretty swiftly, and to my surprise, the single-button control works without being irritating. There are just the right number of menus and options, so you’re not searching endlessly. Shortly after the initial setup, you’re presented with a barcode that connects you to the Dyson app, which I already have for other devices. You can use it to further customize the machine to your liking, and it also keeps track of things like warranty and serial number. Note that the app is not necessary, but it is a nice addition. After charging, I filled the water tank, added a bit of cleaning solution, and was ready to give it a try. I did a couple of tests—both standard usage and some “controlled chaos.” For standard use, I ran it across my kitchen floor (laminate with a thin mat covering part of it), then in the bathroom. In both areas, where there were no obstructions, it is self-propelled forward and glides with ease—much easier than using a standard mop or a Swiffer. Because of the propulsion, much less force is needed to clean tough spots. With the mat, it did snag a few times, but if I approached it at the right angle, it was able to go over it without catching too often. I assume this is because the clearance of the unit is very low to maintain maximum contact with the floor. Not a major issue, just something to note if you have vinyl mats or similar. Also, if you have any type of cloth mat in your bathroom, you may want to remove it beforehand and shake it out. This machine is not meant for carpet, as it doesn’t have a way to turn off water flow. It provides different levels of “hydration,” but no option to fully disable it. For the controlled chaos test, I poured water on the floor and added some Cheerios. One of the main features I was looking forward to was having a wet/dry machine to handle spills while cleaning. It passed this test with flying colors. The Cheerios were swept up, the liquid was removed with a few passes, and the floor looked freshly mopped. No complaints here—debris suction was good, and water removal and mopping were excellent. In summary, it can eliminate the need to sweep and mop in separate steps in most situations. Now, this is where it starts to fall short. The process to get it into self-cleaning mode can be a bit cumbersome, involving several steps that aren’t as easy as the promotional videos suggest. First, you must empty the dirty water tank and the debris tray. In my testing, I found that once you removed the dirty water tank, it would leak if tilted. I tried it several times and got the same result—that’s a poor design choice. When emptying the debris tray, the video doesn’t show that the debris will most likely be wet. So it’s not as simple as dumping it out—you’ll have to rinse it off in the sink or wherever you clean it. It makes sense logically, but since they emphasize separation, you might not expect the sludge that still needs to be cleaned out. After that, you need to refill the clean water tank to run the self-clean cycle. The self-cleaning process works well, but it is long and somewhat loud. It seems to run with a heating element for about 30 minutes. It’s not extremely loud, but definitely noticeable. Once it’s done, you’ll again need to remove, empty, and rinse the dirty water tank. Then you’re good to go for the next use. Compared to rinsing and wringing a standard mop and dusting out a broom, this is still easier. But for a machine marketed as all-in-one, the cleaning process can feel a bit cumbersome. That said, it’s not entirely clear how they could significantly improve this. Another flaw is that it’s not great on edges or in corners. If your cabinets have any kind of lip, it won’t reach underneath them. While it can lay flat to reach under chairs and similar furniture—which is very useful—the clearance is still too high to get under cabinets. For deeper cleans, you’ll need to use a broom to pull debris out from corners and edges, and possibly follow up with a mop or Swiffer. For general maintenance, this isn’t a major issue. But for deep cleaning, you’ll still need traditional tools to finish the job. Battery life is excellent. I was able to clean both of my floors and still had 85% battery remaining. Aside from the charging base, it is completely wireless, making it easy to move around wherever needed—especially for hardwood floors, kitchens, and bathrooms. One smaller thing I appreciate is that you don’t need distilled water or anything special just because it’s a Dyson. It uses regular water with a standard cleaning solution, and the only component you may need to replace over time is the roller—which is expected with any mopping device. Overall, I think this is a great machine. Does it live up to expectations? For the most part, yes—but it definitely falls short when it comes to effortlessly achieving a complete clean.

I have been using swiffer but it dose not do the job this does. I could not believe how much it pulls up.

The Dyson Clean + Wash Hygiene floor cleaner may become you and your hardwood and tile floor’s new best friend. I appreciate Dyson’s use of a discrete shipping packaging that travels incognito to your front porch that also includes a normal retail box beneath. The internal packaging was well designed and protected the contents. Dyson products are almost always in the top-tier price category and aesthetically attractive inside and out. Upon removal of the parts from the box and the removal of many clear protective sheets from nearly every smooth plastic surface, a simple snap together of the handle and the main body and then setting the unit onto the charger base to get the battery charged, gets you ready for the next step. A QR code was available on the page of drawn instructional information that leads to an app to download and install. While the MyDyson app installed and connected, I was informed of what rights I was giving up to get the instructions to clean my floor. I would advise declining the app’s ability to scan for all your Bluetooth devices, as this device does not seem to have Bluetooth. The app features short, very overlapping instructional videos, advertising and access to a more comprehensive manual. I enjoyed the videos that seem to highlight every click. Conveniently battery-powered, and perfectly portable, this Dyson is relatively quiet in operation. The cordless aspect is, of course, one of the main draws, as well as the over-all effectiveness of cleaning. According to the app, you can expect to get about 45 minutes of running time with a single charge of the removeable battery pack. It will start to warn you of the battery condition on the screen when it reaches less than 30% of its charge. The small round control panel on the handle turned out to be quite informative and intuitive as it featured small videos pertaining to operation when appropriate. The floor cleaning solution included in the package is labeled as probiotic and is pleasant smelling. It only requires a small cap-full added to each fresh tank of cleaning water to presumably retain the unit’s hygiene. The effectiveness of the floor cleaning is a bit shy of stellar in a sense that dried areas of mess do not clean up very easily even with multiple passes and a higher level of cleaning setting on the machine (there are three normal levels and an additional one called max). The max setting acts somewhat more effectively on these trouble areas, but still takes numerous passes and utilizes more moisture. There are also sometimes small-line artifacts remaining on the floor after cleaning and drying. Slightly uneven hard flooring such as tile, can cause some erratic results as well. The quick drying time due to the minimal moisture used is quite manageable compared to previously used products and when the cleaner sits paused for a short time, it does not leave much moisture residue. The short head height and slim body design allows under-counter access to clean near lower kitchen cabinetry and under higher couches, etc. One disconcerting trait involves the occasional observation of just pushing around a line of dust/debris/hair instead of the machine just devouring it. Seems that neither forward nor backwards trajectory consistently allows picking up the errant debris. Eventually it will get picked up, but it may require a few passes or angles to achieve it. Also, it’s advantageous to clean in the direction of the “grain” of how hardwood floors are lain to achieve the most effective results. When moving the unit, while not actively cleaning, it is important to keep the cleaner head fairly level and parallel to the floor so as to minimize any potential leaking while moving. As to the whole cleaning of the head function after all the floors are finished, the ease of disassembly and mechanical interaction makes it intuitive and easy to work with. The mechanism sorts, combs and sieves out the dirt and segregates it into either a dry chamber for crumbs etc. or dissolved into the liquid waste chamber. Also, the self-cleaning/heating/drying routine that the Dyson finishes with after its floor cleaning and in preparation for storage, is a bit on the noisy side. It takes more than a half hour of noise on a par with your oven’s venting fan set to high. So perhaps planning for a storage/charging area in a more unused section of your dwelling would be a good idea. A slight product improvement would be to add some form of additional reminder on the machine after the (partial) self-cleaning process concludes to leave the caps off of the liquid reservoirs so as to let the chamber’s remaining moisture evaporate. The biggest negative of all of these types of machines is the after-use cleaning. Meaning that despite the “self-cleaning” function on this model, you are still manually cleaning it. Some of my dislikes include the lack of even a rudimentary worded paper manual and the occasional difficulty in cleaning some deposits. It is anticipated that we will use this device much more often than our corded-appliance equivalent that will probably be in storage or perhaps re-homed in the near future. Our household members enjoyed using this product and on average give it a four out of five stars and recommend it with consideration of the caveats mentioned above.

Since we got a dog, we have always tended away from carpets in most rooms of the house - simply to keep clean-ups easier. In the apartments and houses we have lived in , this normally means either vinyl plank flooring, hardwood or tile - all of which have their pros and cons. The lack of carpet makes it easier to quickly dust on a regular a basis and keep the place clean, but every now and then we have to pull out the regular vacuum cleaner, run that around the house - and then go back over the whole place with a bucket of water and a wet mop.We have tried using on-to-fly wet brooms (the ones with the removable pads) but invariably they just push the dirt around unless you are willing to swap / wash the pad every time you use them. Enter this Dyson wet+dry hard floor cleaner - and now we can do pretty much everything in a single pass, with a single appliance. The unit handles both solid and liquid clean-ups - and has a handy comb in the reservoir that separates them as you clean. Eventually you have to remove the tank and in it there is a separate place for liquid and solid waste that you can clean out separately. To be clear there is no way to switch the water on and off (that I have found). There are 3 levels of power, but if you have water in the tank, whatever you use it on is going to get a little wet (so for example, if you do have carpets or rigs this probably isn't the right device). The clue is in the product name- this is for hard floors only. As for the cleaning experience itself, its pretty easy and low maintenance - its waaaaaaaayyyyyy easier that lugging a bucket and mop around and you get to vacuum and mop all in one go. You can fill the cleaning reservoir with just water, or include some of the cleaning fluid provided with the unit - in my testing it seems that the cleaning fluid helps the floors to dry slightly better, but I suspect it will involve a bit of trial and error on your part, depending on your floor type, to find the write cleaning additive for you setup. The unit runs for about 30-40 mins in a single charge depending on the power level - and when you park it on the base, it recharges quickly - and also has a self-cleaning cycle in case you picked up something you don't want to spread around the rest of the house. All in all, I would recommend this unit if you have primarily hard floors in your house. It does not replace the need for a regular vacuum , but I could easily get rid of the larger traditional vacuum cleaner and live with the smaller Dyson handhelds for daily use, and then use this to wash the floors more thoroughly on the weekends.

Dyson's Hard Floor cleaner does a solid job of both vacuuming and mopping hard floors at the same time. No more wasting time vacuuming and then going over the same areas with a mop. One sweep is all it takes. I swept a bunch of crumbs and other debris from my kitchen counters onto the floor (along with all the existing dog hair) and it picked everything right up as it mopped. This device is very cool to look at, with a futuristic handle and an LCD display that actually shows device status in full color. It glides along the floor effortlessly, and the handle can be bent down flat 180 degrees making it easy to mop hard to get areas like under the couch. There is no button for dispensing the water/solution mixture; it automatically releases the mixture as you go along. The probiotic cleaning solution included had a nice light scent, not too overpowering. After mopping, the floors weren't so wet that they took too long to dry, only taking about 5-10 minutes for the moisture to dissipate. And now things I didn't like. I have high gloss bamboo floors, and while they looked clean, I could tell they still had smudges in heavy traffic areas that usually get taken care of with a manual mopping. The Dyson apparently doesn't use suction, and all the water and debris gets collected in a tank and tray. Removal and cleaning of the tank and tray are somewhat complicated. While the tank holds most of the water, there is still water that drips out when you remove the tank (on the floors I just cleaned). It's hard to figure our how to remove the debris tray in order to clean it out (I blame this on the wordless instructions, which are worthless in telling you how to do anything with this device). There is a metal comb like piece which I assume is used to separate the water from the debris that is very sharp, and I almost cut my finger trying to disassemble the tray, so be careful. Once you figure it out, the process is manageable. I also wish Dyson found a way to make this device useable on low-pile carpets like other mops on the market. My main gripe is the self cleaning cycle. It has a hot air drying cleaning cycle that takes 30 minutes! You have to clean the tank and tray out again after the cleaning cycle, so when you are done mopping, you're really not done. 30 minutes is a long time to wait and remember that you have to finish cleaning out the mop. While it sounds like a cool feature, I question whether it's better than just being able to remove the roller and let it air dry. I also imagine it uses quite a bit of energy to go through the 30 minute hot air cycle. All in all, a pretty solid hard floor cleaner, that is probably unnecessarily over-engineered.

Very easy assembly but very poor pictorial instructions for use. Download the manual from Dyson online. They should have included a manual. The app isn’t that great and you don’t need it. To fully test we used the Dyson solution included. Don’t use too much or it will foam. We started with ½ cap and moved to ¾ of the cap. It seems to get the job done as our water was filthy. Most impressive is that it vacuums and cleans. It really did pick up pieces on the floor and then wash it without streaks. When you are washing the floor, it does show the brush marks. When it dries the brush marks are about 99% gone. Very easy to operate and glides easily. We washed with 3 drops (maximum water) and the cleaning was impressive. 1 drop didn’t seem to do much. The machine stops and lets you know when to dump the dirty water tank. Then remove the debris portion and dump the dirty water. It took a few tries to remove the debris tray but once you know how, it is easy. Getting it back on took some additional practice as well. The debris tray is easily wiped with a paper towel. At 3 drops, water usage covered a small kitchen and a hallway. Our upstairs used about 4 tanks. Battery life is excellent and had no problem finishing the job. The self-cleaning cycle is very easy. Make sure you have emptied the debris tray and dirty water tank. Put the unit on the stand and use the menu to self-clean. You have to have a fresh tank of water in it before starting. It does make some interesting noises during self-clean. It takes roughly 30 minutes. Then you will again empty the dirty water tank. The LED screen is helpful and shows the battery life. Very nice feature. The included safety pamphlet says not to keep this plugged in all of the time (#1). Most people will miss that. We really like this unit and appreciate the vacuum and wash at the same time feature. Impressive that it works so well.

I’ve owned many Dyson products over the last 10 years, and I’ve always been impressed by their quality and design. I currently own a corded Animal ball series and a Detect cordless vacuum and they always consistently do a great job. So, when I got my hands on the new Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene Wet Cleaner I had those same high expectations. After using the cleaner for a few weeks now I can honestly say it’s exceeded my expectations and then some. This is in my opinion the best product Dyson has ever released, read on to discover why! Initial setup for the cleaner was intuitive and straightforward thanks to the MyDyson app! You scan the QR code and install the app and watch a minute long video for setup which involved clicking in the handle to the cleaner, plugging in the main base, and then resting the cleaner on top of it to turn it on. A small digital screen appears and you choose your language, that’s it, your setup is done! Then follow instructions on how to fill up the main water container and use the supplied Dyson cleaning solution and you’re ready to start cleaning! I was very impressed by how simple the whole process was. Dysons products are always user friendly, but this one felt like the easiest one I’ve ever owned to set up! I was immediately impressed with how ergonomic and sleek the cleaner is. It has a nice color scheme and the whole cleaner plus base can fit easily in any area of the home. The Clean+Wash has no separate battery, and it charges on the base you don’t have to fiddle with extra cords or mount anything to the wall to store it. The one complaint I have with my cordless Dyson is that it’s not the easiest vacuum to store once you’re done using it unless you install the wall mount. There are no such issues with the Clean+Wash. Once you’re all set up and the tank is mixed and ready to go you can begin the cleaning process. The Clean+Wash has 4 different modes. Low that’s ideal for dust, hair and liquid spills. Medium for debris, hair, thicker spills and moderate stains. High for tough dried on stains and sticky spills and Max Mode for your most stubborn stains. I have wood flooring throughout my entire first floor of my home and with 2 kids under 5 there can be a ton of debris and dirt left behind on a daily basis. The cleaner itself is a vacuum and mop all in one, though I tend to use a cordless vacuum ahead of time because I have a ton of dog hair usually on my floor, I wanted the Clean+Wash to focus on cleaning my wood floors and picking up any debris left over. After using the cleaner for a short while now, I’ve settled on Medium for most of my cleaning runs. It does the job well and doesn’t leave a ton of water on the floor. Because the cleaner charges on the base, I’ve never had issues with battery life. It can clean my entire first floor with ease. The device has a rotating roller that Dyson states has 84000 microfiber filaments on it and it does a fantastic job getting marks and stains off my wood flooring. If the stain isn’t initially coming off cranking it up to High usually gets the job done. The first few times using the cleaner I was amazed by how much dirt was left in the reservoir that’s attached to the device. The Clean+Wash leaves a small streak of water that dries fairly quickly while pulling up any dirt and debris. Once complete you pull the reservoir off and unscrew the cap to empty the dirty liquid and then slide out the debris tray and comb, then dump out any debris and rinse off both the tray and the comb and snap it back into place. It all works beautifully and is super easy and intuitive to use! Once you’re done cleaning the Clean+Wash even has a self-clean cycle. You simply refill the water tank and click Self Clean on the device while it’s resting on the base, and it runs clean water through the device and down into the reservoir in 145 seconds. Then it does something I never expected in a cleaning mop it heats up the roller for 30 minutes completely drying it, so it doesn’t retain any moisture and is ready to go for your next wash. I was blown away by the thought behind this process. Too many times, I’ve had to remove filters or brushes and leave them out in the sun to dry for 24 hours, with this feature you just click and go about your day, and it completes the cleaning for you, genius! The Clean+Wash works so well I’ve been using it twice weekly to clean our wood floors, and my mopping has gone from a hassle to a joy. I really enjoy using this product and I think you will too! The Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene Wet Cleaner is by far the best product I’ve ever owned from Dyson. It’s intuitive, easy to use, and overall, a great addition to any home! I highly recommend you ditch your old mop and move to this; you won’t regret it!

What can I say other than when you buy a Dyson, you know you're getting exceptional quality. I had the opportunity to use the Dyson Clean + Wash Hygiene, and right out of the box, the build quality feels like it's going to last me a very long time, which is really important. Setup is super simple, with only about 4 main pieces needing to be assembled. Out of the box, you get the charging base, plug, clean water tank, handle w/ dirty water tank, and Dyson's proprietary probiotic cleaning solution. The cleaning solution is made for hard floors, so if you have laminate wood, luxury vinyl planks, or nicely polished hardwood floors, this is really where the unit makes the most sense. The Dyson Clean + Wash Hygiene isn't necessarily what I would consider a heavy-duty vacuum. Think of it more like an electronic Swiffer or mop that can also pick up light debris and hair while it cleans. It's great for hard floors and shorter carpets. I have shaggy carpet in my front room along with hardwood floors, and I tried it on both. It did a really good job on the wood, and nothing felt super wet after I went over those areas. Everything was just a little damp, which is to be expected. However, I would NOT recommend to use this on a shaggy rug. One thing I really love about the design is the LED display, which gives you a countdown showing how much cleaning time you have before the water tank runs out. Another standout feature is the gyroscopic neck. It makes turning and pivoting the arm extremely easy, especially when you're trying to make those sharp 90-degree turns around furniture. What really fascinated me, though, aside from the gyroscopic neck, was the self-cleaning process. I used the Dyson app to help me figure it out. There is still some work you'll need to do yourself when it comes to removing dust and debris from the unit, but once it's placed back on the charging base, the self-cleaning system uses cool water to clean the roller brush for you. The process takes about 45 minutes and mostly works in the background without much supervision needed. It is a little loud, but not necessarily distracting. It's more of a persistent hum, which strangely enough actually makes for pretty decent background noise. Overall, the Dyson Clean + Wash Hygiene is a good product, and I would definitely recommend it. Not just because of the Dyson name, but because of what that name represents when it comes to build quality, thoughtful design, and products that feel like they're made to last. Most importantly, it actually does a pretty effective job of cleaning.

I’ve been using the Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene for a few weeks now, and so far my experience has been very good. I also owned the previous Dyson G1, so I had a pretty good idea of what I liked and what I hoped Dyson would improve. One of my biggest problems with wet floor cleaners is the smell they can develop after a few months. I’ve owned other brands that ended up smelling so musty that my wife didn’t even want them kept in the house. You’d open the utility closet and get hit with that wet-dog smell. I never had that problem with the G1, and I haven’t had it with this one either. The self-cleaning cycle is a big part of that. It’s very easy to use and does a good job rinsing the system and roller after you’re done. This model also only has one roller to remove and clean, which makes the whole cleanup process much simpler. Compared to the G1, there are fewer parts to take apart, rinse, and put back together. The one small complaint I have about the self-cleaning setup is the tray. After the cycle finishes, the tray is usually left a little wet. I normally have to lift the cleaner off and wipe the tray out so the machine isn’t sitting in a small puddle of leftover water. It’s not a major issue, but it does add one extra step. I also like that the machine isn’t picky about cleaning solutions. I’ve used Mr. Clean, vinegar, hardwood floor cleaner, and plain water without any clogging problems. A lot of wet mops seem to require a special low-suds formula or they eventually stop working properly. This Dyson seems to have a much simpler water path, with clean water going down to the floor and dirty water collecting in the head. Filling it is easy. The clean water tank runs along the handle, and the dirty water tank is built into the cleaning head. Emptying and rinsing the dirty tank only takes a couple of minutes. You do need to have the right expectations. This isn’t a wet shop vacuum, and I wouldn’t use it to pick up a bowl of spilled cereal or a pile of spaghetti. I vacuum first to get the larger debris, then use the Dyson to mop the floor. It works well on fine dust, dirt, sticky spots, milk spills, and the usual messes that need a proper mopping. It also doesn’t pull every bit of water back off the floor. In my experience, some moisture is left behind, so the floor needs a little time to dry. I wouldn’t call it standing water everywhere, but it definitely isn’t leaving the floor completely dry after each pass. Overall, I’m very happy with it. The biggest reasons I’d recommend it are that it doesn’t develop that nasty musty smell and it lets me use the cleaner I already have at home. The single-roller design and easier cleanup also make it a noticeable improvement over the G1.

Like most products from Dyson, the Clean+Wash Hygiene is a very innovative solution to an existing product category. The design of the product is fantastic and meets all the expectations of a product from Dyson. It comes cleanly packaged and assembles quickly. I would like to give it five stars; however, hygiene is a little misleading. Using the cleaner is like using any other upright, turn it on, move it around, and it cleans the floor very well. This machine, however, differentiates itself because of the way it separates the dry particles and the wet, dirty water. The separate bins for the dry and the wet make clean-up 100% better than any other floor cleaning machine I’ve used previously. There are still some gross things you have to touch when emptying the bins, hence the misleading “hygiene”. That being said, you do not have to deal with the same type of mess generally presented by other machines of this type. One thing of note is the water bin does leak slightly when emptying. Where the device again distinguishes itself is the docking station and the self-clean and drying sequence that can be run after using the machine. This makes the device more likely to stay clean without having to physically touch the roller. I love this feature, and it has been the game-changer. I have multiple pets and of course they like to make messes everywhere. It does a very good job at cleaning up those messes. I’ve used it on high-traffic areas as well as some trouble spots, and thanks to the variety of power modes, it had no problems with the jobs. It tackled the messes with ease and didn’t leave the floors too wet even when using max setting. I definitely recommend getting this for washing your floors.

I have always found it frustrating keeping my hardwood and other hard surface floors clean and comfortable to walk on barefoot beyond the short window immediately after spending way too long sweeping, mopping, and waiting for the floors dry. So when the opportunity to try the new Dyson - Clean+Wash Hygiene Wet and Dry Hard Floor Cleaner in Prussian Blue/Copper I was more than excited to see if it would make cleaning a little less tedious. It was pretty simply to assemble with just a couple of clicks requiring no. It did need to charge first as it arrived with just a little charge. It was pretty simple to add to my existing My Dyson app although unlike a few other Dyson products that I own you don't actually need the app to unlock any additional features or perks. A full sized bottle of cleaner comes in the box which is nice because it gives you a real chance to try it out and decide if it's worth investing in versus a small sample. It only requires a little of the cleaner added to the tank so the small sized bottle will last far longer than I anticipated. The actual cleaning capability which is truly the most important part actually impressed me. The suction of the vacuum part is stronger than I truly expected. While it could never replace a true full powered traditional vacuum cleaner it does the job by picking up decent sized debris with ease and without the need to sweep or vacuum the floor first. And the floor dries super fast without any streaks or residue left behind. The dirty water reservoir was a little disappointing as it's smaller than I would like and has to be dumped well before the clean water reservoir ever needs to be but it's not a huge deal. The hardest part, which isn't really hard at all is dumping and cleaning the dirty water tank and the debris catcher. There is a self cleaning step that you run after initial dump of the tank but you still have to take a few moments to do some hands on cleaning (again, it's not a difficult or time consuming task at all). Overall, I'm truly obsessed with how well this works. The price is steep for sure but that's pretty much true for all things Dyson. But so far I truly do enjoy having it in my floor cleaning arsenal

I recently got LVP flooring and have been looking for a quick efficient way to keep it clean. This Dyson Clean+Wash is exactly what I was looking for. Assembly is simple. Unbox the base, main unit and handle and snap the handle into place. Using the cleaner is just as easy - fill the tank with water and the included cleaning solution. A measuring cap is also included. I was surprised when I first turned the unit on that there is no vacuum system to extract the dirty liquid - rather the roller bar rubs against the comb/wringer squeegee forcing the dirty liquid out of the roller brush. You have four levels of solution distribution - low, medium and high are selected by the mode button. To get the maximum solution, press and hold the Max button. The cleaner alerts you when the collection tank is full or if the roller gets stuck. Dyson claims you don't have to pre-sweep your floors, the roller brush does pick up hair and crumbs even without a vacuum. I can attest that the Clean + Wash does exactly that. I was able to mop my kitchen without sweeping first. The floor was dry to walk on in just a few minutes and looked like new. Emptying the dirty liquid tank is easy, pop it off the unit and unscrew the cap to dump the waste. To fully clean the unit, there are a few more pieces to disassemble and clean out. The process is not difficult. When you are finished cleaning, place the unit in the hot air drying dock to rinse and dry the roller brush and charge the device. The Clean+Wash also uses the Dyson app but more for registration and parts replacement rather than usage of the device. There are consumables with this machine - it is recommended to replace the roller brush after 45 hours of use. Considering my floors and usage, I expect the roller to last about a year between replacements. As with all Dyson products, you pay for unique technology, designs, efficiency and operation. It is said imitation is the best form of flattery. If Dyson products weren't ground-breaking, they wouldn't be duplicated like they are.

The Dyson Clean + Wash Hygiene Wet and Dry Hard Floor Cleaner is a premium cleaner offering an excellent build quality and solid cleaning performance. • Unboxing – The Dyson cleaner is well protected without an excessively large box or unnecessary packaging. Assembly is straightforward and takes less than 5 minutes. The final part of the setup includes placing it on the dock, following the onscreen instructions, and adding water/cleaning solution to the clean water tank. • Design/Quality – Like other Dyson products, this floor cleaner is very well made and looks great. It is super lightweight only weighing a reported 8.4 lbs. Since this floor cleaner uses water and agitation rather than suction, all the dry and liquid waste is stored in the cleaning head. This is great as there are no tubes to get clogged or bad smells from an ineffective filter. • App – A nice addition that offers information about using the machine, care/maintenance, and more. • Usage – It does a great job cleaning stains, spills, and debris from hard flooring surfaces. It has 4 different cleaning settings designed to tackle light messes to the most stubborn stains/spills; however, there is no automated detection for selection. It does have a relatively small clean water tank and due to the amount of hard flooring in my house I need to refill it once prior to finishing. The good news is the battery lasts the entire time. Hopefully the next iteration will have a larger clean water tank and a steam function. It leaves only a small amount of water on the floor allowing for fast drying and no water stains/streaking. It also leaves a nice clean smell. • Cleaning – The cleaning process is semi-automated. The removable portion of the cleaning head splits into 3 parts with the dry and liquid waste in separate areas. Simply dispose of the dry waste and rinse the components in the sink. For the enclosed dirty water tank once emptied I added a small amount of dish soap and rinsed it out a few times. After reassembling the cleaning head and refilling the clean water tank with water/cleaning solution, place it back on the dock. Then it can start the self-clean cycle. Once complete, empty the dirty water one more time. Overall, I think this hard floor cleaner by Dyson is a great addition to my cleaning arsenal and highly recommend to those with lots of hard flooring.

We are a Dyson family, still using our well-worn but still performing yellow DC07 Root Cyclone model while making quicker passes on the pet hair tumbleweeds with our slightly younger Cyclone V10 Animal cordless stick vac. We were excited to add the cordless Dyson Clean + Wash to the stable. Out of the box, the style-forward design hints to the unique engineering going on under the hood. It has a premium feel starting with an unobtrusive LCD screen and power button front and center, topping the sleek aluminum handle with some interesting bends in it. The handle flows down into smooth molded body parts and the clear acrylic water tank, all topping a head unit that is shallow in profile but with a deep body. The head is where all the magic happens, there is no suction involved in the design, rather it relies on constant hydration and a spinning roller that collects/agitates dirt and debris off the floor. The dirty water comes back into the head, where the solids are separated from the water and collected in a debris area. There is an anti-tangle comb that removes hair from the roller as it spins. It comes with a charging base that it drops into, where it powers up and performs its self-cleaning ritual. All of this was easily put together with a few fit and click actions, and once set into the charger you are provided an intro video on the LCD screen, which was easy to follow considering its compact size. There was also a barcode to scan that connects you to the Dyson app. The app is relatively light content, with some instructional videos and basic product information. In use, you can select power mode desired on the LCD screen, ensure your water tank is filled with the appropriate amount of water with a measure of the Dyson probiotic, and you are off to the races. I have three different hard floor types in my home, hardwood on the main floor, vinyl plank in the basement and ceramic tile in the bathrooms this was tested on. From a use/maneuverability perspective, it is very friendly and pretty agile. There is a self-propel action that pulls it forward in a very quiet fashion, reducing strain and noise, but it does not ‘fight’ you if you choose to go back and forth in my own pattern. It is very smooth acting, and with a fairly wide head (11 inches) that has edge to edge coverage, it gets a lot of floor washed on a pass. The neck pivots smoothly left and right, and the handle is designed to drop flat to the floor allowing great access under low obstructions. All of this combined for an overall light-effort power-mopping experience that provided decently clean outcomes, with some caveats. It takes some time to get used to the wash-streaking that occurs. This bothered me at first, and I kept trying to cover my streaks, but none of that really survived the floor completely drying and it all went away. The experience with the vinyl planking was similar, not much stress and similarly clean results. The Wet and Dry is somewhat temperamental with non-level surfaces, particularly tile, and that was not as easy. I happen to have very thick grout design (.75 inch wide), and all the unit really did in that restroom was spill water when it bumps along. The water spilling is not coming from the dirty water tank, it is coming from the debris cleaning portion of the head unit where some will still sit in the filter area. If you have tile with decently sized grout profiles, this may not be your ideal solution. This spillage also continues if you are not careful transferring the head to the sink in your preparation to clean the head unit out. Any unlevel handling of the unit will spill water (requiring a re-mopping), there needs to be some consideration in design on making all of the internal dirty water make its way to the holding tank (which again- does not leak in and of itself). Another caveat is that this unit will not replace your need to own and use your vacuum regularly, particularly if you own pets that shed. If that is the case, I’d recommend that this serves as a dry vac if you are a day or two max from your last vacuum. We have a golden and an Australian shepherd, both long-hairs that shed a full copy of themselves most every day. Dog hair tumbleweeds are the norm, and that will simply overpower the debris portion of this vacuum, having you spend as much time cleaning it between water tank cycles as opposed to vacuuming with a normal vac. If this is the case, you will be using the Wet and Clean more as a power mop period. Speaking of cleaning, the self-clean function works well, but it still requires a lot of attention and manual activity to clean the debris filter, roller area and dirty water. As much as you are not touching goop with the engineering to separate water from debris, you basically touch all the elements that go into that goop. As the water tank is relatively small compared to other units, you will spend more time cleaning in a wash cycle the more dirty/hairy the floors are. Once properly cleaned out and water tank refilled, you place it in the charging base and turn on the self-clean mode. This takes about 40 minutes or so, and can be loud when the hot air is introduced to dry the roller and innards. It does a really good job in this regard, and there is no noticeable odors coming from the head unit a few uses in. Overall, this is a really well-designed unit that complements your normal cleaning routines- but that water leakage issue needs a remedy. It doesn’t particularly replace any of the other necessary vacuuming I do, but it does provide a really nice deep clean of the hard surfaces, and I would highly recommend forgoing any manual mop routines as this is a luxury upgrade worth considering.

I bought this because I was tired of using a Swiffer and having to put so much effort into scrubbing my floors by hand. As someone who has owned several Dyson products over the years, I’ve been really happy overall with both the performance and battery life of this cleaner. It left my floors feeling noticeably cleaner compared to a Swiffer mop, and it was very easy to use. I was able to clean my entire downstairs with just one tank of clean water, and the battery still had more than 50% remaining afterward. My only real complaint is that if you move or tilt it a certain way, it can occasionally dribble a little water onto the floor. So it’s not completely leak-proof, but overall it does a great job and definitely makes my floors look and feel much cleaner.

I have owned a number of Dyson products over the years, and the Clean+Wash Hygiene is one of those products that makes you wonder why cleaning hard floors had to be so complicated in the first place. What I like most is that this really does combine jobs that would normally require multiple steps. It picks up the everyday dust, hair and debris on the floor while washing at the same time, so there is no need to vacuum the entire floor before mopping. For a quick cleanup or a full cleaning of the floors, being able to do everything in one pass is a huge time-saver. The cleaning performance is excellent. The roller does a very good job on both ordinary dirt and more stubborn spots, and the floors are left remarkably clean without being soaked. I also like that the machine continuously uses clean water on the roller rather than simply pushing increasingly dirty water around the floor. But one of the best features may actually be what happens after you finish cleaning. Anyone who has owned another wet/dry floor cleaner knows that cleaning the machine afterward can sometimes be almost as unpleasant as cleaning the floor. Dyson has put a lot of thought into this. The system separates the dirty water from the solid debris, and when you're finished, the dock runs a self-cleaning cycle and then uses hot air to dry the roller. That makes a major difference in keeping the machine clean and avoiding the damp, dirty-roller smell that can develop with this type of appliance. It is also cordless, easy to maneuver, and the battery life has been more than adequate for the type of hard-floor cleaning this machine is designed to do. This is certainly not an inexpensive floor cleaner, but it feels like Dyson actually addressed many of the things I have disliked about conventional mops and other wet/dry machines rather than simply building another version of the same product. You are paying for the engineering and convenience, but in this case I think those improvements are meaningful. If you have a lot of hard flooring and want one machine that can pick up everyday debris, wash the floor, handle spills, and then largely take care of cleaning and drying itself afterward, the Clean+Wash Hygiene is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.
