I expected a little more than that, especially considering how much it weighs.

Thank you for providing this review on our DC56. For clarification, our cordless machines have 2 different settings: Regular mode that will give the vacuum 15-20 minutes of run time and MAX mode that will double suction power, but reduce run time to about 6 minutes. All cordless machines are set to MAX mode right out of the box.
To engage/disengage MAX mode, please follow these steps. While the machine is running, push the gray MAX on the very back of the vacuum. You will notice a change in sound and light around the button. The quieter setting is regular mode and will give you the vacuums full run time.

Nice portable vacuum. V6 is better

Comparing suction on both, the V6 seems to be more powerful as it should be. They are pricey but you get what you pay for. I ended up returning the DC56 and paid the extra money to buy the V6 after using them both at my father's place who had both the DC56 and V6. Great vacuum. but the V6 has more functionality and better suction which don't mind paying for. Battery life is my only complaint, but batteries cannot last forever.

Pros: -Small and compact -Just the right attachments for automotive use -Easy to clean Cons -Short battery life (~15 Min regular | ~6 Min MAX) -Long charging time (~3 Hours) -DOES NOT COMING WITH CHARGING CRADLE even though it states it does. -

Thank you for taking the time to provide this review. We're thrilled to hear the machine is working well for your needs and you are certainly right to note that the DC56 is an optimal machine for quick pickups. In developing the DC56, Dyson engineers researched how long people like to clean, and found that the vast majority of people clean for less than 25 minutes in one session. Many people, for example those living in apartments in metropolitan areas, find 26 minutes proves to be long enough. Although if you live in a much bigger home, we would recommend that DC56 be used for in-between cleans, rather than deep whole home cleans.
As this is a handheld model, they do not come out of the box with a mounting bracket as a cordless stick vacuum would. However, a compatible mounting bracket is available over our helpline. Feel free to contact a Dyson agent to inquire about obtaining this part.
