Customers admire the Outsize+ Cordless Vacuum's powerful suction, long battery life, and ease of use. Many appreciate its performance on various floor types and its effectiveness in removing pet hair, although some find it heavy. The cordless design is a popular feature, but the high price point is a recurring concern for some buyers.

Cleans well but will probably die too soon

Does an amazing job but is really quite heavy for a stick vac and considering previous experiences with Dyson cordless vacs--you just have to plan for it to die sooner than you'd like. This thing is HEAVY so you feel like you can skip arm day at the gym. This thing is really as big as you can possibly go cordless before it just makes sense to get a full-size or canister vacuum. I purchased this to replace my v11 that had issues with the battery staying in. The outsize + version comes with 2 batteries and the updated battery locking mechanism design shows that Dyson was listening to user complaints about previous versions of the battery. All my previous cordless Dysons died unceremoniously sooner than they should have. This Outsize+ replaced by V11 (purchased 09/2019) which replaced my 2017 V7 (purchased in 2018) , my 2016 V8 (Purchased in 2016) and my circa 2009 DC 31. I have owned 3 full-size Dyson vacuums since 2006 and all 3 are still alive and well-- I would go for those over the cordless vacs, hands down IF you have the space. If you live in a smaller space or want something more portable, then the cordless vacuums are worth a look but ONLY if you also but an extended protection plan. Every cordless vacuum I've had from Dyson has died sooner than I would deem reasonable at this price point. However, if you plan in advance for the eventual demise of your pricey dirt eater...BUY the extended warranty it is worth the added expense. The laser beam thingy shows me all the dust and dirt left behind and in horrific fashion. This horrifies me to no end and I've used it only once--I seriously think there should be some sort of trigger warning to prepare you for what you might find using the laser head! The laser head will make you think you just are living in filth even if everything looks clean otherwise. This shows me dog fuzz and dust that I would rather not see, crumbs under the couch I couldn't reach and all sorts of dust I wish I could unsee. I know the point is to get things clean but this really shows you what your Roomba missed or exactly how much your fur babies shed. Not recommended to use the laser cleaning attachment under your teenager's bed (or anywhere in a child's room unless you are mentally prepared for the disgusting things kids leave behind). My kids LOVE the laser attachment for grossing out family and friends alike. I love all the other attachments for cleaning everything else and aside from feeling like I'm pumping iron every time I pick this thing up, it is my go to vacuum. Bottom line: Buy it for the convenience of a cordless vacuum that has excellent suction power but expect it to die before it should. Bonus: you also get toned biceps! Value: Very pricey especially since Dyson's cordless vacuums seem to die way too soon. Worth it IF you also have the extended warranty. Pros: Portable, massive suction for a cordless vac and--lots of accessories to clean every surface you can imagine. Cons: It will probably die too soon and it costs a whole lot compared to other cordless/stick vacuums.

Great appliance! I love using my Dyson so much. It’s very powerful and yet lightweight. We purchased Outsize+ and having extra battery is lifesaver. I love laser dust detector option. My husband is obsessed with it and helps cleaning house as well. It’s definitely worth money. It came damaged in transit so we had to come back to store and made an exchange- we are Total Tech members and had no problem at all! Highly recommend.

The Outsize plus is well packed. It must have taken 10 minutes to unpack from the box. Once removed, I immediately put the battery packs on the 2 included chargers. The vacuum will not let you use a battery that hasn’t been fully charged for the first run. All the pieces are easily connected and disconnected from the vacuum with a single click. Should you need a manuals, they are located at on Dysons website. After installing a fully charged battery pack the system boots and asks for language choice, then you can choose between different suction levels as well as battery use. The battery when fully charged is good for about 120 minutes give or take depending on what mode you use the unit at. The unit is very well balance but after vacuuming for 20 minutes your arms will notice it. (almost 8 lbs) The anti-hair clog brushes are a nice touch as I live in a female dominated house and 2 long haired dogs. This was an issue with previous vacuums. I was able to cut down my vacuuming use almost in half. Its nice not to have to drag a cord around or stop to reposition the plug multiple times to finish. I tested each individual attachment, the extension tube for crevasses, brushes, upholstery heads, and hardwood floor with laser. I found it to be much easier with this unit as opposed to my last upright. The upright would tip over numerous times when try to do chairs or couches, many times I would give up and just drag the fallen upright along until finished. The upholstery attachment cleaned our couch great, the guard on the bottom keeps the fabric from piling up or snagging, making it a smooth operation. When doing hardwood floor with the attachment, I turned the laser on and WOW you can actually see the dust and dirt show so you can see the areas need the most attention for a near perfect clean. I was impressed. After vacuuming, emptying the dust collector is very easy. Just remove the extension pipe or too, position the collector over the trash and the red release pushes the collector down and open. Reverse order to continue use. If the collector is full the vacuum shuts off till you empty. When you are in Auto mode the unit will automatically adjust speed for the type of floor you are on. You can feel and hear the difference when going from higher shag to lower carpet. If you have an area, you feel needs deeper cleaning just hit the button up top and go to boost until the area is cleaned. The only downside that isn't really an issue is, no bag to house the different attachments, I would hate to loose or misplace one. All in all this is a great vacuum, that goes above and beyond my older ones, Even after running them as a test before using the Dyson, the Dyson still picked up stuff the older Major brand units I have, missed. The old ones are now at the curb. I would recommend this to family and friends.

I’m happy to have this “Big Bad Boy” around my house! I have used this Dyson Outsized+ On my 3.300sqft house floors for few days now and I’m impressed every new time i do it. It’s a very powerful vacuum so it will be quite loud. Also at maximum power, that I recommend to use it when you have larger debris or pet hair to be removed, it will be a little harder to push on the carpet but it willl glide like a dream on any other surfaces. Combined i found myself using the juice of just one battery to clean all my house in a quick manner(but nothing was missed or skipped) or 1 + 1/2 battery juice for a deep cleaning. The bin it’s excellent at holding large amounts of dirt very easy to empty as well. I found it harder to get in tight spaces when i use the crevice tool but not a big deal. And did i say it has a laser? Yea it does have laser for hard wood floors, very useful cleans with ease every you will throw at it! Batteries take about 3 hours each to fully charge and like i said if i can get the job done with just one I’m confident anyone can too. So to wrap it up and not be boring It’s Strong and Loud but Does a phenomenal job and that large bin that’s very handy to have. Oh almost forgot you will get used with the Triger system… just give it some time.

I got it because of our allergies. It kicks up less dust then a broom does. My cousin also has a bit limited mobility and this helps him keep his room cleaner. It also picks up our dogs hair unlike a broom which just gets trapped in the bristles.

I’ve been using my Dyson vacuum for a while now, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. The suction power is incredible, effortlessly picking up dust, pet hair, and debris from both carpets and hard floors. The design is sleek and lightweight, making it easy to maneuver around furniture and reach tight spaces. I also love the advanced filtration system, which captures even the smallest particles, leaving the air feeling noticeably cleaner. The battery life is impressive, providing enough run time to clean multiple rooms without needing to recharge. Overall, this vacuum is worth every penny. It’s powerful, efficient, and makes cleaning so much easier. Highly recommend!

YALL! I know - why do you need a $700 vacuum? Well I'll tell you why - first of all the cordless feature is a game changer. No more plugging and unplugging everywhere. Secondly the laser head - I thought it was a gimmick at first but then I realized how much stuff it actually shows is still on my floor! Especially for pet hair! Third - how easy it is to take apart and make it a hand held vaccuum - this is INSANE for stairs. Fourth it comes with TWO batteries. Not 1 but TWO and they last about 40 minutes each on auto mode. Fifth - all the different attachments - I can do my car, my carpet, hardwood, tile, the couch cushions, and get into those tiny crevices. Sixth - the suction is POWERFUL! I could go on and on but this vacuum is ICONIC. so just get it!

I've been using Dyson vacuums for more than 2 decades, and have never been disappointed. I still have the most recent big ball version of the corded one that is amazingly powerful, but I always still have a cordless for convenience. I had a much older Dyson V7 or whatever cordless one for a few years, and I had given that to a family member when I grabbed a Wyze cordless vacuum to try out. And it was only a few months later was already looking for another Dyson. It was between this and another one of the same generation that had the sensor that reported particulates and such. I had no use for that particular feature, and this one had everything I wanted. I've been using it now for over 2 years, and still really loving it. The noise level is acceptable for the power, and the attachments are complete enough for my needs as a guy whose kid graduated and moved out a couple years ago, and now have the house to myself. The one head is great for my carpets, the other does well with the tiled areas. I like the capacity, and REALLY like the ease of emptying out the bin, which was something I never cared for on the older Dyson cordless I had.

This Dyson Outsize vac it's like a regular cordless stick vacuum, but it's bigger with more features. Because of its large size, it is now suitable for any home, even a large one. This Outsize is not a standard stick vac; it is a full-size vacuum. The Outsize comes with one docking station with an attachable charger and one additional charger for the extra battery. The extra easy swappable battery allows this vac to work for larger homes. The dust bin container is larger, and with that capacity, you would only need to empty the vac once after each use. For most people, vacuuming is one of the most dreaded home cleaning tasks. Now I am emptying less; in turn, I am wasting less time vacuuming. Each battery has approximately 60 minutes of runtime; time depends on the mode setting and size/quantity of particles. Changing the batteries is very flexible; it can be charged when placing the vac in the docking station, it can be charged directly on the vac (not in the station), or charged the batteries on their own. Accessories/tools included: (1) a motorized mini head is excellent for stairs or cleaning upholstery (fantastic to get rid of pet hair), (2) an angled crevice tool, (3) crevice tool, (4) an adjustable flexible brush, which is very soft and won't be scratching anything, and (5)it includes a storage clip that attaches to the wand to store two accessories. The main roller head is a bit larger than most stick vacs, so it is a great design to cover larger room space, making cleaning more efficient. This larger head results in doing a lot less work because it covers more floor space. The performance is great on both hard floors as well as carpets. What I like about the large head-deep clean is that it works on both hard floor and carpet, and the best part is that I haven't seen a bunch of hair getting tangled in the roller. The laser detection reveals microscopic dust; in a sense, it makes it hard to see dust visible on hard floors. The slim head's unique laser features beams a floor-facing green light to illuminate fine particulates, so you don't miss anything. The laser detects/reveal is not designed for carpet, and there is an option to turn off the laser. The LCD control panel shows the current performance, cleaning mode, and run time. It will also show you maintenance reminders or troubleshooting, such as filter not placed correctly or filter blockage. The HEPA level filtration is quality made and the best design. It does a great job, and I haven't detected any air leaking out of the unit; all of it comes out of the HEPA filter. Very easy to clean and maintain; rinse with just tap water and let it dry for a day or so. In conclusion, the vacuum system works well and is very easy to use.

Big Time Clean - No More Upright Needed

I own a couple of different Dyson cordless vacuums, including the V7 Fluffy and V15 Detect. One vacuum usually doesn't have enough battery life or dust bin capacity to cover my entire house, so I've placed each one at different areas around the house. This new Outsize+ model finally has the bin capacity, battery life, and features I need to make it my one and only vacuum for the entire 3,000 square foot house. It takes some of the best features of the V15 Detect model and adds extra bin capacity and battery life for those who need to clean large areas. === UNBOXING AND OVERVIEW === - Like every Dyson cordless model, the Outsize+ is extremely easy to unbox and set up, though be prepared to sift through a lot of cardboard and protective packaging to find everything in the box. - The Outsize+ features a matte red stainless steel-looking color on the wand. It doesn't show any fingerprints, but the red color certainly stands out amongst my neutral-colored home décor. - The Outsize+ comes with two cleaner heads (the Laser Slim Fluffy and the Digital Motorbar XL) and five attachments (hair screw tool; soft dusting brush; crevice tool; combination tool; and stubborn dirt brush). - Two click-in batteries are included, and the battery is very easy to swap out when one runs out of charge. Two wall chargers are also included, so you can charge both batteries at once and make sure you always have a back-up. With both batteries fully charged, Dyson claims you can get up to 2 hours of run time (1 hour per battery). - This model is missing some of the intelligent features of the V15 Detect, such as the measurements of dust particles and sizes shown on the screen after each use. But I suspect this won't be a deal-breaker for most people. - Compared to the 0.2 gallon bin on the V15 Detect, the 0.5 gallon bin on the Outsize+ is 150% larger. This is great for vacuuming the entire house, but the Outsize+ is noticeably heavier than any other Dyson cordless vacuum I've used. Definitely something to keep in mind. === LASER SLIM FLUFFY HEAD PERFORMANCE === - The laser Fluffy head is Dyson's best innovation in years. I've used it for over a year on the V15 Detect, and I'm so glad it's included with the Outsize+. My house is almost 90% hard floors, and they have never felt so clean. Gone are the days of wondering if you've actually picked up all of the dust and crumbs on your hard floor. As you can see in the attached photo, there is a green laser on the right side of the Fluffy head that projects at a 90-degree angle. - The laser works great, though it is a bit dim on the left side of the head. Regardless, I have found dust and crumbs in places on my floor that I never thought were there. The laser reveals even the smallest amount of dust and hair so you can be sure you don't miss anything. - The laser does not work very well in a bright room. For the best performance, I have to turn off most of my lights and close my blinds. Not a huge deal to me as that is a small price to pay for a clean floor. - The laser can be turned off via a small switch on the head itself, though it's unclear what impact this has on battery life (probably little or none). === DIGITAL MOTORBAR XL HEAD === - This XL cleaner head is 25% larger than the one included with the V15 Detect and is mainly for use on rugs and carpet, though it can also be used on hard floors. The cleaner head has "hair removal vanes" that prevent hair from wrapping around the bar as you vacuum. - Once again, it works as advertised. I have vacuumed the carpets in my bedrooms extensively with this cleaner head and have not noticed any hair wrapped around the bristles -- it all makes its way into the bin. - Like the Fluffy head, the Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head will adjust the vacuum's suction based on floor type and carpet thickness to maximize battery life and cleaning performance. On both cleaner heads, you can choose Eco, Auto, or Boost modes via a button below the LCD screen. Boost mode obviously provides the best performance but there is a big hit to battery life. - You can also adjust the suction of this cleaner head using the red adjustment slider on the front. Sliding it towards the plus (+) side increases suction for heavily soiled carpets, while the minus (-) side is best for deep pile carpets or if you need to capture larger debris. === OTHER FEATURES AND THOUGHTS === - Like other Dyson cordless models, the Outsize+ is very easy to clean and maintain. The point-and-shoot design of the canister makes it very easy to empty debris directly into a trash can, though the added weight of the larger bin can make this a bit of a challenge when it's full. The filter keeps dust out of the air and is easy to clean by just running it under a faucet. - I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Outsize+ fits perfectly in my Floor Dok that was originally designed for the V11 (see photo). To get it to charge in the Dok, I had to add a bit of padding in the charging cradle underneath the plug/barrel to raise it up higher. The charging port on the Outsize+ is a bit more recessed than that of the V11, so you have to make the barrel protrude a bit further up from the Dok. I believe the newest variant of the Floor Dok is fully compatible with the Outsize+ with no adjustments needed. - I appreciate the variety of smaller tools/attachments that are included, but it is certainly a bit hard/awkward to use those tools given the increased weight of the Outsize+. === OVERALL === The Dyson Outsize+ is the new go-to cordless vacuum for those who want to vacuum their larger homes in one go without having to worry about battery life or dust bin size. Forget the old, clunky upright vacuum – this is your new one-stop shop. It has everything you need for hard floors and carpets, with the laser Fluffy head being essential to my cleaning routine. The versatility and expandability of this vacuum is unmatched by any other brand. Highly recommended!
