The Dyson Pure Cool features a HEPA filter to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns, including pollen, dust, mold spores, bacteria and pet dander. The second layer in the filter contains activated carbon to capture household odors and volatile organic compounds like paint fumes. But then it started to make a high pitch squeal or whine no matter how slow or fast the fan speed was. After doing some more research on there website apparently it's a fairly common thing that happens. So you have to constantly warranty it.

The machine also features a sleep timer, oscillation and 10 air speed settings. We wouldn't expect that you'd only have effective airflow on the higher levels.

Works like regular fan

I initially bought it to help keep down any smells from my animals, plus help purify the air for my allergies. It does help a little with the smell, but not nearly as much as I thought, and I haven't had any relief from allergy symptoms. It does help keep the room cool, like a fan would, and I really like that there is no way a small child could injure themselves if they decide to put their fingers through a regular cage fan.
