With a cat and young children, I’m always looking for ways to keep local odors in check and improve long-term air quality. Diaper genies only contain so much and cat dander can cause or contribute to allergies and respiratory issues. I also do a lot of cooking and BBQ on the back patio and the kids coke and go which means smoke and pollen getting in the house. Dyson products have long been known as redefining the cleaning and cooling space with hi tech ways of moving air so it only seemed natural they would get into the air purifier business. The Big and Quiet apparently started as a commercial air purifier for offices during Covid which is reflected in its high price, large size and industrial looks. They managed to drop the price for the home market and I’m thrilled to have one in my home. Despite the bulk and looks, the Big and Quiet is surprisingly light. The top and cylindrical body is mostly plastic but not cheap feeling, and inside is mostly hollow for the air filters with the rest being the black magic Dyson uses for moving air without moving parts. The unit has some nice casters that allow you to wheel it around easily and the top slots in and can only be mounted one way with molding keys and the chip interconnect. Hit the power and plug it in and that’s it, fully assembled in 5 minutes. It comes with a TINY remote that looks great but is easily lost. Definitely recommend hiding this if you have small children. Plus the MyDyson app is essential in my opinion for full functionality and it works beautifully with the Big and Quiet. Download the app by scanning the QR code, it’ll detect the Big and Quiet over BT from maybe 50!ft away but to pair it, it will tell you to place your phone close to it or pairing will fail. Once placed close, pairing is super fast and then it connects to WiFi which allows you to connect from anywhere. One of the best app integrations I’ve experienced with these smart devices. You can also connect to voice assistants like Siri, Alexa and Google and that was seamless as well. So we know it’s BIG but is it Quiet? Yes! If you manually set the speed you will hear it but it still isn’t loud, just like a gush of air. On Auto it’ll automatically ramp up if it detects poor air quality, once it’s done cleaning it will ramp down and it’s virtually inaudible. The LCD unit shows the AQ as well as a color gradient band from red (poor) yellow orange then green (good) and the speed will adjust from that. It’s great for sleeping as it’s like white noise and you can keep the air speed higher to provide a nice breeze to circulate clean air. It’s really impressive as you can feel the air from a good 20 feet away on medium speed. My wife loves it because she likes both white noise and a breeze. You can also set Night Mode which dims the display since she likes it really dark, we only wish it totally turned off the display. Lastly, you can adjust the air direction from 0, 25 and 50 degrees. The only negatives imo is there is no oscillating function, the large size and the fact it needs to be 3.5’ from a wall. My picture shows it closer before I saw that recommendation. The industrial look is subjective and growing on me and it honestly looks better than some of the similarly powerful and expensive tower style purifiers. Lastly, the filters are reasonably priced and seem easy enough to replace as the app walks you through the process which is a great touch. The carbon filter is recommended to be replaced every 2 years and the HEPA formaldehyde filter every 5 years. I treat some of these cheaper units as disposable because the filters cost almost as much as a new unit but on something like this, I’ll definitely invest in replacements. Overall this is a great air filter and circulator. Another quality device from Dyson!

Very Large but super powerful! I have many air purifiers and this Dyson is the best by far. I suffer from lots of allergies which are worse in spring and summer. We also have two dogs that shed constantly and require us to vacuum almost daily. I'm currently running three air purifiers in my house, one in the bedroom, basement, and main living area. My prior main living area air purifier tried to keep up but would struggle. It also had an auto setting to adjust fan speed. When the fan was on high it was super loud and distracting but was needed because our air quality wasn't the greatest. This Dyson is the total opposite when on auto. When the fan is on high you can barely hear it running. This is great as its less intrusive in our living area. Since placing this in our main living area I have found that I can actually breath in our home. I usually have one nostril plugged up or sneezing from particles in the air. With the Dyson I no longer suffer from those issues and can actually breath way better. Since now I can breathe, I have been sleeping way better and no longer waking up exhausted or congested. This thing works so well that I can overlook the odd colors or large size since it does what it needs to do better than the competitors. Keep in mind this machine is large almost three times the size of our older unit. Thankfully we have a big enough space that we can place this air purifier without it being in the way. It also has wheel casters so you can easily move it around if needed. Some friends saw it and really liked the features and how clean our air was but said it would probably be too big for their condo or townhome. So, keep that in mind if you are looking to purchase this Dyson. The remote is magnetized and sticks to the bluesish housing (remote is the gold bar), which is nice, so you don't loose it. I also think the color combination is a little strange, silver, gold and bluish purple. Honestly wish they would have done just silver and blue or just kept it simple like black and white. It doesn't really blend in with our decor due to these colors, but I don't care as the air purifier made a huge improvement in our house. You can connect this air purifier to your internet and use the Dyson app to make changes or review air quality. If you do not wish to connect to your internet, you can use the display on the unit to get the same information. My prior machine did not connect to any app and the display did show each type of air pollutant, but I had to look up what they were. This Dyson has a guide printed on it (on the silver dome part) saying what each air pollutant is, which I find helpful so I can made adjustments in my home. The Dyson also shows air temp along with humidity, these are also very important to air quality. It seems like Dyson spared no expense and wants you to know everything you are breathing in. I liked that you can also adjust the fan angle to help keep the air circulating in your home, instead of just shooting straight up or straight forward like other units. I have a feeling that the air filters will be expensive to replace as all of my current ones are as well. The filters seem to have a long life and should hopefully last a full year. Once they are done, I will gladly replace them as this machine replaces all of my other air purifiers. If you suffer from allergies or poor air quality this is the one to get!

I love this Dyson Air Purifier. It works exactly as advertised. Automatically senses changes in the air quality and increases or decreases the power. It is extremely quiet, you can barely hear it when it's running, and it seamlessly connects to the Dyson app, letting you know exactly how long the filters have left as well as the current readings of the machine. I don't have a bad thing to say.

I notice my air quality is much better and I am extremely happy with how quiet it is. It also is surprisingly light weight for how big it is. Very satisfied with this purchase.

It tracks impurities in the air and toxic smells very well and very quickly. The only drawback is that the purifier itself begins to emit a funky scent, depending on where you put it. As it is doing its thing and cleaning the air, it seems to capture the room or the home's unpleasant smell. So, when you walk by it, you might get a stronger whiff of all that you might not like about your home.

I've never left a review on Best Buy before but I felt like I had to for this one. This Dyson Big+Quiet is the BEST purifier they have ever made. And that's coming from someone who's owned the TP02, TP07, TP09, and now this (with some other brand air purifiers in between). As the name implies, it's quite large and in charge. Unlike the tower air purifiers from Dyson, there's no compromises here — it doesn't have to also function as a fan with oscillation. It was designed to just do one thing well: clean the **** out of your air. And it does it well.

man man man. lemme tell you i got two cats that live in a ROOM with me and when i tell you this takes away the smell is an understatement. this thing not only takes the smell away but it also makes the room very easy to breathe still. i know you guys know that stuffy air im talking about. this thing is crazy and this is the definition of an investment cause ive tried so many $100+ purifiers and theyre butt compared to this. cat man approved

Very quiet, can feel the breeze all the way across a large living room, has auto controls, will adjust filtration and fan speed automatically which is nice, unit is a good size, about 3 ft tall and 5 gallon bucket around.

This air purifier works really well for a big open space. I could definitely feel the difference in air quality within a short period of time running the unit. I did have to send mine back for replacement though, due to a clicking noise occuring when on Breeze mode. When this mode is on, the bottom flap on the fan oscillates up and down to simulate a breeze, but since this movement is controlled by plastic gears on the end of the flap, there's room for error if not perfectly aligned, hence the clicking noise I've been experiencing. Hopefully my replacement with Dyson rectifies this issue.

I bought one these already and this is my 2nd one. I love it! The air is soft. I have asthma and this really helps with my quality of life.

only drawback is the size so it works in our larger spaces. Though the larger size does allow it to move more air at a much quieter speed. The filters last much longer. Air quality in the house since deploying is so much better than before.

It cleans their room really quickly. It’s quiet and he does his job. Perfect. I love it.

I love my Dyson air filter. I have a big downstairs, a lot f square feet. Since I’ve had this Dyson air filter the air is incredibly better. I noticed the difference. The air is better… I recommend this product to everyone.

It’s amazing, makes no noise and you can literally breath fresh clean air right away! My allergies practically disappeared.
