The unit does a nice job in the air purification and monitoring departments with a very good phone app for monitoring status.
However, the humidifier's ability is quite limited. I have a small house (880 sq feet) and the unit struggles to keep the humidity up when the weather is cold. For example, I have the unit set for 50%, with fan on 7. The outside temperature is 23 with 42% humidity. The unit is constantly running and only able to maintain 28% humidity. Also, they don't tell you in the instructions, but there is a screen you have to take out and clean once a week or it won't humidify at all. This isn't worth the $1000 list price or even the $800 I paid for it on sale. One thing I really like is that it doesn't use crappy paper filters.

Sleek and elegant design; very user friendly. Humidifier not great for large spaces ( >300 sq. ft.); marginally affected Relative Humidity in the space (~ 500 sq. ft.).

Was hesitant to buy due to price but after trying many different air purifiers, this has been the best one by far. I struggle with asthma and really bad allergies so I need something that can do more. The settings and setup are really easy to use, yo

The bad; In a 12x15 room the humidity only rises to 55% when set to 70%. And it’s pretty big and not as useful unless it’s close to the center of the room. The good; The app, ability to use hard water and self cleaning, and the fact it cleans the air and water without creating ozone sets this apart from others.

This is a frustrating product, because you can tell a lot of thought went into many aspects of its design, while at the same time, there are numerous glaring flaws.
Things I like: the aesthetic; the color screen that auto dims in night mode; UV water sanitization; cleaning reminders and self cleaning (haven’t tried that); the remote; the app that plots humidity and air quality time series; the ability to oscillate the fan in a stochastic fashion imitating a breeze; the ability to simultaneously function as a fan, purifier, and humidifier.
However, there are some basic design oversights that ruin the user experience. For one, the WiFi connection is very spotty; I’ve tried numerous fixes to no avail. Also, the overall build quality seems doubtful, with lots of plastic parts and overly complex engineering. I’ve had transient but annoying noise issues, such as the fan sound being high pitched or buzzing during the oscillation. Also, the humidity can only be adjusted in increments of 10 in manual mode. In auto mode, the algorithm favors very high fan speeds, even if the climate is close to the target, and the noise level is insane.
All in all, it feels like a showcase of some brilliant design ideas that unfortunately lacks polish. Good design has to get the common sense stuff right before impressing the user with innovation. It’s unfortunate because Dyson is one of the few companies in the space that exhibits a clear air of perfectionism when it comes to their product. Hopefully reviews similar to this (of which there are many) eventually make it to the ears of the Dyson designers and engineers…

This fan is worth the splurge!! It's quiet compared to all other fans and I love how easy it is to use. It can easily cool the room too. The magnetic remote is also amazing because there's no fear of losing it. Also love how it had a purifier because less appliances are around the house

If you don’t use distilled water, this product will eventually lose its humidity function….unless somehow all the sediment and microbial life are removed from your water in another fashion. It’s a losing battle. If you get the two year plan, depending on your water, this product will probably stop working 1 yr to 2 yrs from purchase. Then you come right in and swap it out or do like I did - use the money to upgrade your computer and boil a pot of water like everyone else if your place is too dry.

High Quality but Expensive Humidifier / Purifier

I'm happy with the purchase, although the cost of the unit for what you get is quite high. The app used to control the unit and create a schedule is generally pretty user friendly, although it lacks a few features such as understanding how manual control does or does not override scheduled events.
We use this unit in a bedroom that is a little under 200 sq ft. We're in a very dry climate, so humidifying the air is important for comfort. The unit does well up to about 50% humidity (15% higher than normal), but struggles to get much higher.

Amazing! I’ve had it going for about a week, and I can’t tell you how much of a difference it’s made. There used to be so much dust and who knows what flying stone my house, you could see the as you walked around.
My allergies have subsided and I no longer have to take my allergy pill every day. The cloud of dust and what not is gone!
I love that I can the air purifier separate from the humidifier.

This is so much. Over than I thought it would be. My first one failed, but it was a shelf sitter for quite some time. Second one has worked great. Sleeping so much nicer despite the dry winter air. I would prefer less plastic, but you can’t have everything.

Got this for a kitchen renovation and the ensuing formaldehyde gasses from the new cabinets. Honestly, I could never tell it was cleaning the formaldehyde because the levels never got very high despite the new cabinets. But it seems to be doing its job. The air cleaner and smells are less than I expected from the construction. The unit itself is really well made. And the software is really good, very smooth, and allows you to control everything. It is, however, large and unless your decor is spaceship modern, it will stand out. Because location matters, you cannot hide it in a corner either. Overall, I am pretty pleased.

I have two dogs and I cook almost every day. This really helps get rid of the pet odors and food smells. I accidentally burned something I was cooking and the kitchen was filled with smoke. The smoke was gone in less than ten minutes.
I would definitely recommend.

We got three of them to put around the house and like them mostly because I didn't think there was anything better, not really because I truly liked them. The app is great and they make me feel like I live in a futuristic house. However even when two are close to each other, their readings don't quite match and show air quality in our house is erratic throughout the day and night (fluctuating between green and low yellow levels) when I haven't been doing anything differently, which makes me not trust the readings. I thought $1k purifiers would be a little more precise. They're not the best looking things and take up a good amount of space which is something to keep in mind.

I believe this has been one of the best purchases I’ve made due to its ability to humidify, and remove pollutants from a large size room. The sensors automatically detect germs and other tiny particle microns that many other purifiers can’t detect!

This is my first time buying an purifier. Being allergic to pollen, after reading about all the purifiers available in the market, I decided to buy an Dyson's 3 in 1 system. No doubt, it's little pricey. The quality speaks for itself. The design amazed everyone who see this first time. It's easy to unbox and install.
