I really love this vacuum. It is great with pet hair on carpet and wood floors.

Because I'm a cheapo, I'd always bought the 40 dollar Eureka or Hoover special before. I'd always dealt with the lousy suction, the short power cords, and them dying every 6-9 months before buying another one. My wife asked for a Dyson after we got married and I balked at the price of course. I researched this site, found this refurb and decided I could live with the 239 price tag. Bought it and haven't looked back since! We have a long-haired cat who likes to shed everywhere and it's extremely good at getting the cat hair off of the floor/furniture. It's light enough that I usually pick it up and use the brush roll on the couch cushions instead of the attachments. The hose suction is always awesome too, I don't think I've ever clogged it yet which is great. The one downside is as previously mentioned in a review, this is a clutch driven model so it makes a nasty grinding noise every time you bump into a wall or hard piece of furniture on accident or suck up the edge of the curtains with the brushroll which scares the stuff out of you and the first few times makes you think you broke it!! Once you cut the power and bring it back on after getting it away from the obstruction, it works just fine again. I will absolutely stick with Dyson from here forward and wish they made a Shop Vac!

Anyone that owns a Dyson knows how great they are. They also know how much they pay up front for the quality and performance they deliver. But why buy something new when you can buy new...used!! You would never know this was a refurb except for the small blemishes of debris it picked up from it's past happy owner. I'm just happy i'm that owner now :-) don't hesitate cause it's a refurb, you get the same quality, the same performance you would expect from a brand new one out of the box. Pick up this gem and be happy you will have a clean house!

I have had this vacuum for a few weeks, and I LUV IT! I researched for a long time before deciding on this one. I recently had another vacuum, that I liked, for a little while. Then the filters had to be replaced, frequently. The brush roll had to be replaced, and the belts broke a lot! I love the idea that with the Dyson, I won't have to buy bags, belts or filters. It picks up really well, and the cord is long enough that I can reach both of my carpeted rooms without unplugging it. I used it to vacuum my car yesterday, and was happy with the results. I placed it on one of my car floor mats beside the car to keep it from sucking up all the dirt in my yard, and to protect the wheels from rocks. The tools are awesome and I used all 3 that came with the machine.

I received my Dyson vacuum this afternoon after hesitation about buying an expensive vacuum, so I bought a refurbished model. I have to say I am very surprised by how much I love this vacuum. I have never been a fan of vacuuming but I really enjoyed my experience. It is shockingly very easy to empty the canister. This vacuum is user friendly and it makes this chore exciting. The wand is very well placed and makes it easy to use. The cord is long enough that i can vacuum through several rooms. It is really interesting to see the dirt in the canister and know its working. I am very happy with my choice to buy this product.

I have wanted a Dyson vacuum every since I saw the first comercial! I bought this refurbished model 1 wk ago. It is awesome! My vacuum had a few little scratches on the tank but other than that it is like brand new! I was alittle scared about buying a refurbished model. When we received this vacuum, there was 2 detailed letters inside with all of the paperwork that comes with a new machine. These letters were from Dyson an explained what was done to my specific machine! Impressive. James Dyson is a god! Thanks Best Buy! This was a great buy!

This thing is awesome! It was scary to see the amount of dirt and dust this machine removed from carpet that we thought was already clean. My wife loves the ability to turn the brush off and vacuum our hard wood floors in the kitchen after our kids make a mess. I am not the type of guy to spend this much money on a vacuum, but I can honestly say it was worth every penny.

Just opened the box, assembled and used. I knew it would pick up a lot because my last two vacuums were eureka pieces of $%&* from wally world...but wow. I used it on two larger rugs and filled the dirt bin. I know the new might wear off and things could change but at first blush this thing is the real deal. I have been burnt before on a different kind of "factory refurbished" but this unit looks new and has the warranty so why not? So far so great. Very powerful and no dust.

This is the best deal and value for the money. Factory refurbished, but you would never know. Smells and looks new. Works great, and lives up to the Dyson name. It pulled a full bin of dust out of my carpet, and I just vacuumed with my old one 3 days ago. Wow!! This is a must buy if you need a new vacuum.

My husband and I love this vacuum! We have had it for a couple weeks now, and it works great on all floor surfaces getting the bigger lint pieces and also the small dust particles. We are very happy with our purchase. Just hope it lasts a long time for the price.

Considering the hype of the Dyson name, I expected fabulously clean carpet. Instead, the dirt pick up is average to minimal. My old Hoover was way better. Maybe they forgot to refurbish this one. I just haven't figured out how to return it.

After returning the first of these vacuums and getting another shipped, we have found out that this machine is clutch driven, and therefore does not work on our floor! It makes a horrendous grinding noise which is the vacuum's way of protecting itself from damage when it hit a surface that the brushes do not move smoothly across. We will be returning this vacuum and purchasing a 17, 28, 24 or 25....all clutchless models.
