Sorry I had to do it, corny puns aside, this vacuum is amazing! First off I love the display letting me know how much time I have left, and the little “tamp” lever so you can make more room in the bagless collection area. To me that’s really innovative. And it does have a very powerful motor. So my floors are a mix of hardwood (vinyl) and carpet. My basement is carpet and the main level and upper level is vinyl flooring as well. So we have rugs, some shaggy, some smooth, and I was pretty proud of my current vacuum until I got this! Literally a game changer, the stuff it collected from the rug even after using my old vacuum was insane! What is kind of nuts is it’s quieter than my older one, so my dog doesn’t get super nervous around it AND it cleans better. My old one was loud and didn’t do anything in comparison. I ended up using the included wall mount, which is a nice touch. It has a lot of accessories for different floor types and mopping which I find awesome. The wall mount also works as a charging stand with the cord which is nice as well. I wish it used USB-C though instead of a barrel charger. The vacuum has an app… words I never thought I’d say… ever! But there was a firmware update and I don’t know what it did. All I do know is the app was kind of handy teaching me the features of it rather than reading the included manual. The screen on the vacuum was nice letting me know how much time I had left in each mode. The battery life was also pretty nice! As for maintenance, it’s super easy to clean the dust bin when that time comes. Basically this vacuum is versatile, easy to maneuver and has nice quality of life features that make vacuuming less of a chore.

After reading some negative reviews of this product I initially wasn't sure about how well this vacuum would be for me but I have to say I have grown accustomed to it and feel it is slightly better than it's predecessor the V15 Submarine. To start I have to talk about the negatives that I personally do not like as much with the updated version that is the built in crevice and dusting tool it's not as long or as good as the V15 which has the bristles at the end which you can slide down and use or not use but the V16 is short and stubby which is harder to get into tighter places but it does have the positive that at the end of the long tube it has another crevice tool which is nice still short but does come in handy sometimes. I really like how you can take off the lower attachment with the red intstant release feature. The other negative is that the attachments for the V15 or any other previous vacuum will not work with the V16. The battery, motor, ON/OFF button, dust bin, LCD screen, APP usage and HEPA filter has been changed for the better. The battery is now up to 70 mins of usage which is up from 60 mins. The motor is now 315 air watts up from 240. The ON/OFF button is now a button and no longer a variable trigger which I liked because it was easier to just let go and turn off but I got used to the button it's nice and I feel like it allows it to have that greater suction power. The new dust bin is smaller but included the dust compacter which is supposed to hold 30 days of dust and I have to say when I used to vacuum my normal areas the dust bin was almost full with the V15 and now doing the same tasks it seems like still full but when I compact it I don't have to empty it out every time if I decide not to and feel like it actually somehow does hold more in that way. I like how even when emptying the bin not all of it empties out unless it's super loose debris but stays inside until you use the lever and then drops it all into the bin. It's a little awkward still with the short stubby crevice tool at the end that doesn't come off when you open the bin but it's not a problem. The LCD screen still shows which particulate being picked up it seems more detailed and more up to date with more instant feedback on the type of particulate and how dirty something is based on a color system of green, yellow, and red. It's interesting to have a vacuum finally use the Dyson app it allows for software updates and battery information and a way to select a battery care option to only charge it up to 70% instead of always at full and hopefully this will allow the battery to remain like new for a longer period of time. I have it set to that option and it still lasts the whole time I need it to. The HEPA filter also changed it's no longer sticking out so much and instead is swapped and the part that sticks out goes into the machine so it looks nicer. Overall this machine to me feels lightweight and does a better job at adapting to the surface that I'm working on. I was worried that the new conical cleaner head wouldn't pick up the same as the previous all floors head but for me I have no issues with it and instead prefer it for the whole house and saves me from having to swap heads for carpet and then go to the fluffy head for my hard floors as it still has the laser on it which I love and wish the all floor head had that but no issues with the conical head with it's long plastic strip down the middle that I thought the machine would miss that spot when going over things. I never had to go over an area over and over again to get something but it could be an issue if you really have a lot of debris or various sized debris all over the floor. One thing that was interesting was when I would vacuum and then decide to get a spot in the corner with the crevice tool using the red disconnect slider it would take off the end attachment and still continue to work but when I would reconnect the head the machine turns off and I would have to turn it on again but it's normal as the machine auto detects which head is on it so that may be it I just now get into the habit of turning the machine off before connecting it to the head again. The submarine head works the same as the V15 just slightly different for the piece that comes off to empty the dirty water I prefer the older design maybe but just not as easy to pop into place but still good the other thing that is different is that you can select a max mode for more stubborn stains but it's only like 5 seconds long and does put out slightly more water but to me I wish you could set it to max and have it go as long as you need as it automatically goes back to normal wash mode after the 5 or so seconds and it has a little countdown on the display showing you it's working. This machine still does not have a lot of the new accessories available on the website and there is some on Amazon you could find for it but surprisingly for something that needs a whole new set of accessories these should be available by now so that is a fail on Dyson. I think if you have the V15 and are happy with it or have a lot of other accessories already then skip this but if this is your first vacuum from Dyson then it's pretty good overall. I would recommend this.

Dyson has once again outdone themselves with the latest V16 piston animal submarine. V15 was already the best of the best and the latest V16 tops it even more. The primary differences between the V15 vs V16 is that the V16 has a higher suction rating and comes with a new “All Floor” attachment head whereas the V15 only comes with their hard floor cleaning head. My household has 2 young kids and a golden retriever dog that sheds the finest hairs known to man. The V16 easily tackles all the daily messes and the green light on it magically shows all dust and hair on hard floors. It’s actually very disturbing to see how much dust and hair is on your hard floors with the green light but also very satisfying to know that you’re taking care of it with the Dyson. The V16 comes with two floor cleaning attachments. The traditional “Fluffy Optic” and “All Floor Cones”. Both comes with a green light but one is just for hard floors and the new “All Floor Cones” is for hard floors and carpet/rugs. The “piston” part of the vacuum works fantastic. Not only does the piston compact the dust bin to hold more, it also helps push out the waste into your trash bin without having to reach in with your hands. All the attachments are high quality and intuitive to use. Besides the hard floor only cleaning attachment, the new “All Floor Cones” and “Hair Screw Tool” does a fantastic job on cleaning without getting long hair tangled to the roller. The “Submarine” wet roller head is very handy when it comes to wet messes and hard floor stains you want to remove. See my attached pic of the Submarine attachment making short work of the liquid spill I had. Despite the more powerful motor, the battery life has been fantastic and have zero issues taking care of the main level of my home with mixed floors. The screen on the back not only tells you how much time you have left in battery but also the size of dust/dirt you are sucking up and automatically adjusts the suction power based on what it senses. Super high tech for a vacuum. You don’t need the app to work the vacuum but the phone app does unlock a few extra things. The most important thing the app does is that it allows you to toggle on “battery care” so the vacuum doesn’t charge past 80% to maximize battery longevity. In Summary, the latest Dyson V16 is a workhorse vacuum and looks great doing it. Easily tackles everything my family throws at it.

I’ve been using the Dyson V15 for a while, so I wasn't sure the V16 would feel like much of an upgrade. After a little over a week with it, I can confidently say Dyson made a lot of small changes that add up to a noticeably better experience. Pros: -Noticeably more powerful than the V15 -Better balanced with less wrist fatigue -New attachment system makes switching heads so much easier -Redesigned cleaner head works extremely well -Laser automatically enables on hard floors and disables on carpet -Dust bin packs debris efficiently, requiring fewer trips to the trash -Vacuum detects different attachments and adjusts power accordingly Cons: -V15 accessories aren't compatible -Submarine attachment is nice to have, but not a must-have -Premium price if you're upgrading from an already excellent V15 The first thing I noticed is the balance. The V16 feels lighter in your hand, and the weight distribution puts a lot less strain on your wrist during longer cleaning sessions. It's not a night-and-day difference, but it's enough that I noticed it immediately. It also feels like Dyson squeezed even more suction out of this model. The V15 was already powerful, but the V16 does an even better job pulling debris out of carpet and picking up larger messes in a single pass. I also wasn't thrilled to learn that the new attachments aren't backwards compatible with the V15. That said, after using Dyson's new connection system, I understand why they changed it. Being able to swap cleaning heads without bending over is a much bigger quality-of-life improvement than I expected. It sounds minor until you realize how often you're switching between hard floors and carpet. Ironically, I don't think the Submarine wet roller is the reason to buy this vacuum. It works well, but it still takes enough setup and cleanup that I don't find myself reaching for it very often. If you leave the roller sitting too long after using it, it also gets pretty nasty. Since I already have a robot vacuum that handles my mopping, I don't see myself using the Submarine attachment much. It's a nice bonus, but I wouldn't make it the deciding factor. The real star of the show is the redesigned cleaner head. I love that the green laser automatically turns on when you're cleaning hard floors and turns itself off on carpet. It's one of those features that seems gimmicky until you use it. I've also seen complaints that the split roller design leaves debris behind because of the mounting point in the center. Maybe that's true in some very specific situations, but I honestly haven't seen it happen in normal use. The same goes for the pointed front of the cleaner head. Some people dislike that it can't sit perfectly flush against a wall, but I think that's focusing too much on paper instead of real-world use. The pointed design actually makes it easier to get around chair legs, cabinets, and other tight spaces. The only real tradeoff is that you can't approach a wall perfectly straight on, and that's never bothered me once. One change I wasn't expecting to appreciate is the new dust bin. It's technically a little smaller than the V15's, but because it does a better job compressing the debris, I actually feel like I'm emptying it less often. On paper that sounds like a downgrade, but in day-to-day use it's been the exact opposite. Overall, I think Dyson focused on refining the experience rather than reinventing it. None of the changes sound revolutionary on paper, but together they make the V16 feel more polished and easier to use than the V15. If you already own a V15, I wouldn't upgrade just for the Submarine attachment. I'd upgrade for the better ergonomics, the stronger suction, the redesigned cleaner head, and the new attachment system. I wish that Dyson would lean into the hot-swapping heads and offer a floor dock for the attachments.

he Dyson V16 is an absolutely wonderful machine. It feels as powerful as a gas-powered vacuum when it’s running in max mode, but overall, it just gets the job done. We bought this to replace our V15, which we used every single day for over four years until it was finally time for an upgrade. Compared to the older model, the V16 is noticeably quieter and much easier to empty. My only minor complaint is that disconnecting the long wand attachment takes a bit more effort to pull apart than it did on the V15. We also opted for the Submarine 2.0 version. We’ve never owned a mopping attachment before, but it’s a total game-changer. It’s easy to use, cleans incredibly well, and I love that it doesn't recycle dirty water onto the floors. While it makes the vacuum a bit heavier, we are overall incredibly happy with the purchase!

Seems like everyone got a free $1200 except for me. People seem to complain about the shape of the hair attachment roller. I like it. The hard floor roller is regular shaped for the familiar Dyson experience and works great. I also really like the sub 2.0. I wish it came with a few more attachments but the car kit is sold separately. I had a really old animal that lasted several years and decided to go next gen with the Dyson tech. The function of the attachments is new and locks super tight. You can’t connect to the app for some reason. It appears it hasn’t been updated yet for the V16. If you’re feeling boogie this is a good upgrade.

I love the new design! Especially love it for the new head attachment definitely gets all the hair I shed around, I would give it a full 5 but I got the extra attachment for extra money "submarine" didn't work so well like I though but overall best dyson yet

I love it and it was gor my mom and she uses it every single day and it helps so much and its faster clean up! We have dogs peeing in the house so if they miss their pee pads. The Dyson comes and cleans it very clean and fast!

We are all aware of the Dyson brand at this point and if you are looking for a good reliable stick vacuum, check out my take on this one expensive but powerful vacuum. So this Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine is Dyson’s newest flagship cordless vacuum released in 2026. It boasts of combining extremely powerful suction, advanced pet‑hair tools and a wet-cleaning Submarine head for hard floors. Dyson designed it as a premium all‑in‑one solution for homes with mixed flooring, pets, and frequent messes. I actually enjoy vacuuming and do it pretty frequently, we have hardwood floors as well as large Persian rugs in a few rooms. I’ve been using the Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine for about a month now and it’s easily the most powerful cordless vacuum I’ve ever owned, but it’s not perfect. Here is what I really enjoy about this new vacuum. I must say that the suction is pretty amazing (at 315 AW) . I noticed that it pulls stuff out of my rugs that my old vacuum didn’t even touch. We also have a dog (short hair) and it is gone in one pass. The new floorhead adapts instantly when I move from hardwood to rugs or carpet, and the green dust light is super handy, you suddenly see all the dust and more on your floor and in my opinion makes the cleaning worthwhile. I found the Submarine wet-cleaning head to be surprisingly good. It doesn’t replace a heavy-duty mop of course, but for everyday kitchen messes, dried splashes and pet dirty footprints after the rain, it leaves the floor looking freshly cleaned. I like that the dirty water stays inside the head instead of traveling through the vacuum. Its battery life is great and the LCD screen makes it easy to know how much time I have left. One big invention for Dyson this time around is the on/off button! Finally, Dyson! It is a huge improvement over Dyson’s old trigger, so my hand doesn’t cramp anymore. Here are a few things I would love for Dyson to improve on. Emptying the dustbin is messy. Every time I open to dump it, a cloud of fine dust escapes. For a vacuum this expensive, that shouldn’t happen. Why not come up with an auto emptying station and eliminate this issue (other brands out there have already been utilizing this solution). I noticed from time to time, the main floorhead may leave some debris (though not very much), which means I have to do an extra pass. It also may struggle along edges and corners. I would add that the whole system is somewhat heavy, so you will feel it after a long cleaning session. The Dyson V16 Piston Animal Submarine is a beast. If you are looking for the strongest cordless vacuum Dyson makes, plus genuinely useful wet cleaning, this is the one you may want to consider if the price tag is in your budget. It’s design is nice and the cleaning performance is phenomenal.

I’ve been looking for the best cordless vacuum. After reading many reviews, Dyson came out on top. Love the vacuum and everything it does.

From the manufacturer that used to make an attachment for every job, and even included most of them with their more expensive models, where are the attachments? This flagship machine doesn't even come with a combination tool. you literally don't have enough attachments to fill the 2 spots on the wall Dok. What's even worse is that you can't even purchase them separately anywhere. Maybe this will change in the future, but it's very disappointing from a machine at this price point. Aside from the lack of attachments, the machine's cleaning capabilities don't compare to my existing 3-year old Gen5, which I was looking to replace with this and get the mopping capability without needing a separate machine. The new All Floors Cones Sense cleaner head is nice if you're someone with exceptionally long hair, but for most, the old design with the detangling vanes was more than enough. The new cleaner head doesn't seem to seal suction as well on carpets. While I don't have a definitive test for this, it's safe to say that the larger bin on my Gen5 filled up a lot more than the much smaller bin on the V16 after a whole house deep clean. The last point I want to make is regarding the Submarine cleaner head. It's like an after thought, even though it's been around for years now. The mopping is convenient, but the clean water tank on it is small so you either rush through cleaning to make it in one tank, or you have to stop and refill which isn't easy because you have to deal with the wet roller and dirty water dripping out from every side of the cleaner head. After you're done cleaning your home, you're still not actually done because you have to manually clean all the parts of the mop since there's no self clean cycle. Dyson includes a flimsy "storage" tray for the cleaner head to avoid damaging your floors, but it doesn't have any extra space to put the wet roller for it to dry. Overall, the machine isn't worth the price in my opinion – it only comes with two attachments and you can't purchase others anywhere, it doesn't clean as well as my current Dyson, and the Submarine cleaner head is very much a gimmick.

I purchased this product only two months ago, and for such a high price, I expected much better quality. I had not even used the submarine attachment until now, but when I tried to connect it, the latch would not secure properly. At this price point, the product should be durable enough for heavy-duty use, not have basic components break after minimal use. I would rather purchase a less expensive vacuum that is reliable and built to last.

It does a great work. Very easy and handy. The mop is not worth. Too many pieces to clean. It’s easier with a swifter.

The DysonV16 cordless offers you supreme suction power with built in tech to help make cleaning more efficient. Most people are familiar with Dyson and the quality they put out so the real question becomes, is this worth the price? So i really want to focus on the features and practicality in day to day to life to help determine if this is the right fit for you. So after owning a few Dysons i can tell you is that suction power is absolutely what they are known for at least in my own mind. The suction power behind this unit offers 3 different settings plus a auto mode which will change suction power based on what its sense technology picks up on your floors, meaning rather or not it detects dirt piled up deep within the fabrics of your floor. The suction power is so strong that it will literally lift the carpet up and if your not careful or if you have cheap carpets it can tend to stretch them. On thing i want to touch on that Dyson has is its heads up display. At the base of the unit you get a LCD display screen that gives you different options to navigate through. You can choose from different suction powers, each giving you their perspective run time based on current battery levels. But the really cool feature that i liked was the particle gauge. This display will show different gauges displaying different particle sizes and how much of said size has been picked up. Kind of a cool feature you dont really see on vacuum cleaners. As typical with most units out there you do get a hepa filter to insure your not breathing in bad air and a touchless waste bin so that you can dump your waste all without having to stick your hands inside there and pull out tangled hair. Speaking of the waste bin, Dyson added a manual compactor lever so that as waste fills up you can manually compact the dust in order to keep on going in between waste removal. It does a pretty good job but the bin is small so it doesn't take long to fill back up. A full charge got me about 60 minutes on auto mode which isn't to shabby for a stick style cordless. Now should you buy it? Or is it worth it? That depends on family size and house size. There is no question that this unit picks up what others leave behind and yes the brushes will not tangle, but coming from a family of three teenagers and two german shepards i will say this vacuum ended up creating more work for me then it was worth. What i mean by that exactly is that the waste bin was getting emptied more often than i would of expected. Even with the manual compactor it still wasn't enough to combat all the hair left behind from my two daughters and two long hair shepards. With that being said it doesn't mean its a bad vacuum and deserves a bad rating it simply means its not going to be the right fit for large style family homes. This is more for your business owner that deals with day to day foot heavy foot traffic or your single family style home thats really more of a bachelor pad with a few room mates and one dog. Actually if im being quite honest if i was single and it was just me and my dog this would be my number one go to especially because of the versatility of this unit. The quick detachable heads means that after im done doing a quick cleaning of the house i can now attach the upholstery head and clean out my car real quick before heading out for the night. Over all this a awesome unit with no real drawbacks other than the small waste bin. For a large family home this is not worth it one bit. For the business owner or bachelor pad/college student, this is absolutely a must have for your day to day cleaning needs.

And 13yrs later, we still use that vac! Granted, it’s now a backup vac w/an attachment for cleaning baseboards/crown molding, etc., but it still works great! We’ve continued to purchase Dyson products—from vacs to bladeless fans/heaters to hi-velocity hairdryers—because Dyson consistently thinks outside the box, demonstrates innovative design & engineering, & creates form factors & features that break the mold & shake up the status quo. Dyson exemplifies the relentless pursuit of steady, incremental, continuous improvement to boost overall efficiency, reduce waste, & involve everyone in the org in problem-solving. Dyson built 5k+ prototypes in his exhaustive 15yr search for a better vac design. He eventually engineered his idea of a dual cyclonic system that used centrifugal force to spin & separate dirt & dust from the air to prevent it from clogging suction & installed a powerful 1200W motor to ensure constant suction in his 1st famous DC01 bagless vac, released in 1993. Dyson & his sizeable team of engineers & scientists understand that success is built on continuous learning from trials, errors, & failures. Because they’re not afraid to fail, they continue to innovate & build winning machines. Box Opening: The V16 is very easy to set up. There were no tools needed & only ½-doz. steps to fit-&-click components into place, & voila! The stick vac was ready for use. Note: It took 3hr to fully charge the battery initially. App: After D/L the Dyson app & adding my V16’s serial #, I quickly paired the vac to my Android phone. The app then displayed Battery Charge, Brush Speed, Dust Illumination Laser Status, & all my vac/mop Activity—posted by date, start time, & elapsed session time. The app also incl. helpful How-To video tutorials. Later, I was prompted to install a recommended software update that required connection to the V16. But the software update repeatedly failed. After troubleshooting, I was forced to delete the V16 from my phone & Dyson app, re-add the V16, & reinitiate the pairing process. Unfortunately, this wiped my previous vac activity, but I’ve had no further connectivity issues since. Power: The V16 features Dyson’s new Hyperdymium 900W digital motor which generates <315AW of fade-free suction power. Over the past wk., we vacuumed our med. cut pile carpeting in the upstairs hallway & bedrooms multiple times. Although I didn’t try to bog down the vac, I did try applying light added downforce on the stick in Boost mode to see if it would suction any addl. debris after having vacuumed the same carpet every weekend for the last 7yr w/a series of 3 different, new-at-the-time, hi-end brands. The volume of particles & hair that accumulated in the V16’s collection bin was significant enough to get our attn. Once we witnessed how much debris we’d been leaving behind w/our other vacs, we agreed the V16 would become our new go-to vac. Cleaning Heads/Tool Attachments: One of the most convenient features of the V16 system is the wand’s remote-release collar which allows us to attach/detach multiple cleaner heads, transition to different tasks seamlessly, & change tools via the quick-release mechanism w/a simple click-in of the next tool—all w/o bending down to the floor to perform changeouts. When a new head or attachment is clicked into place, the vac's sensors autodetect the tool & adj. suction power accordingly. The V16 comes w/a new All Floor Cones Cleaner Head w/sensors that auto-adapt to different floor types by adj. suction power & rotation speed of the head’s dual rotating conical brush bars. These dual-action stiff nylon bristles pick up more hair than previous heads while acting as anti-tangle/detangling rollers. They agitate/lift dirt from carpets but also incl. soft, fibers to clean hard floors w/o scratching. Then, there’s a Fluffy Optical Cleaner Head w/a soft woven nylon roller for hard floors & a green laser to reveal small particulate. Next is the dedicated Submarine 2.0 Wet-Cleaning Roller Head for mopping liquid spills/washing hard floors. I filled the water tank, chose the light spills/clean floors setting (vs. Max Hydration mode for stubborn floor stains/dried-on dirt) & rolled the head across the floor w/the wet mop track confirming the roller was being kept adequately damp. Dyson’s sanitary wet cleaning system confines all water to the Submarine head. Neither clean nor subsequent used, dirty water is ever pumped up thru the stick itself, preventing residual moisture/debris from breeding mold, mildew, bacteria, &/or foul odors inside the vac/mop. Just be sure to vac your hard floors & tile 1st, as the dedicated Submarine head is for mopping, not vacuuming. Then, there’s the motorized mini-conical upholstery brush, which collected an astonishing amt. of fine hair/debris from our sofa/dining room chairs. Also incl.: a crevice tool, wall-mounted charging dock, & charging adapter. A noticeably absent attachment in my config is the Combi Tool which acts as a 2-in-1 multitasking acc. w/a widemouth dusting brush. Display: The LCD screen inset in the fully sealed HEPA filter endcap gives real-time updates that track the V16’s cleaning performance, battery life, & maintenance needs. As a “visual”, I like glancing down at the Dust Particle Graph that informs me of the size, concentration, & type of dust particles suctioned from the floor & carpet. The types of particulates are broken out into 4 different color bars by size (in microns). And if I want to know, in general, how much dust/debris is being suctioned into the machine, another series of colors is displayed. Green: I’m vacuuming a relatively clean area, Amber: med. dust levels, & Red: high debris concentration. Sensors auto-adj. suction power & brush roll speed as the smart-vac detects varying debris levels. These precise measurements are far more effective than attempting to guess whether surfaces are truly clean by trying to eyeball microscopic particles. The display also provides remaining battery runtime based on my power mode/attachment. Finally, the display provides graphics/warning icons for Maintenance/Error Alerts (wash HEPA filter, vac obstruction, battery issues). Lighting: The V16 has an eerie green laser illumination system that reminds me of the military’s night vision goggles w/their green phosphor screen glow that provides image intensification. The laser lights up all the dust, dirt, & debris atop our hardwood floors like we’ve never seen it before. The enhanced illumination enables us to see exactly what needs to be vac’d/mopped & prompts us to make more passes over debris areas that we might otherwise miss. Maneuverability: At 7½ lbs., the V16 is light & maneuverable on hardwood floors, but much less so on our med. cut pile carpet. How much resistance I experience depends in part on how vertical I hold the stick & how much downforce I apply. The V16 is noticeably more work than our newish, competing, corded upright which has hi-speed rotating brush rolls & specialized fins that grip carpet fibers & pull the vac fwd., making it feel self-propelled. So, when I go for deep cleaning in Boost mode, it can be a bit of a workout to vacuum the entire upstairs carpet. But when the result is cleaner carpet, I’m eager to exert the extra effort. Battery Life: The biggest drain on the 7-cell Li-ion battery occurs while vacuuming thick carpet due to drag & friction. Dyson offers 70min of runtime in Eco mode while cleaning low-friction hard floors, 42min on Auto mode as the vac adjs. power based on floor type/debris particles detected, & just 17min in Boost mode when extra power is needed during deep cleaning of thick pile carpeting. So, in Boost mode, it’s impossible for me to vac the upstairs hallway+4 bedrooms w/o 2 fully charged batteries, as the upstairs takes 35min even when I hustle. And even w/2 batteries, there’s no charge left for the 2 tile-floored upstairs bathrooms, much less hitting any of the hard floors, downstairs. Waste Disposal: The design of the dustbin cannister w/its interior wall-scraping mechanism is ingenious. I can now compact the debris into the end of the dustbin & instantly see how much room I’ve left in the chamber before needing to eject waste. W/past models, I couldn’t tell how much dustbin capacity remained, as the initially clear plastic dustbin walls were always clouded w/residual debris film, even after emptying. The ability to go <30 days between emptying is a timesaver. Conclusion: So far, we’re pleased w/the V16. Dyson has struck a good balance among competing/complementary features. Balancing all these features always requires some compromise. But overall, the V16 performs impressively. It does what we need it to do in a user-friendly way w/minimal hassle & improved effectiveness. It incl. notable specs at 315AW, 70min of runtime in Eco mode, & a weight of just 7.5lb. But another leading global brand’s cordless stick offers a more powerful 400AW rating, a longer Eco runtime of 100min, a weight of just 7.0lb, & all at the same price pt. We recognize that great design engineering requires more than just packing products w/the highest raw specs. But we hope Dyson will strive to live at the top of the leader board in the all-important specs mentioned above to ensure max value. When Dyson either incl. a 2nd battery or doubles battery life in Boost mode & incl. the missing Combi Tool w/the V16, we’ll add a 5th star.

This V16 Piston Animal has been a gamechanger for ease of use and speed when cleaning carpets and hard woods, for both vacuuming and mopping. First, the power is genuinely impressive for a battery operated vacuum compared to others I have used/owned in the past. With two golden doodle dogs the amount of dust, dander, and dog hair this picked up the first time I used it made me feel like I was a bad person for not keeping my house cleaner. You have several different modes as usual, including a "Auto" mode that tries to extract the best balance between cleaning power and battery life. It advertises up to 70min of run time, but don't expect that on the highest setting. Overall I find the auto mode to work well for the typical cleaning, and only force the high setting for cleaning for shaggy carpets. Charging time from empty is quite long, I think an initial full charge after running it down completely was around 5hr 30min. As long as you're not deep cleaning a 4000sq/ft house daily I think the battery life and charge time is more than reasonable for the power you get. It comes with several head options that cover just about everything you'll need to vacuum, and with the wet head it'll even replace your mop. The capacity of the wet head isn't massive for either the clean tank or the dirty tank, but works more than adequate for me to do my kitchen or bathroom without having to stop and refill or empty before I'm done. Swapping attachments is incredibly easy using a quick disconnect collar up by the motor and a single button release at the head attachment. When not in use it includes a wall mounted hanger/charging station that also has space for 2 attachments, and it comes with a drip tray for the wet head. The main body offers a feature I didn't know I needed, you can compress what is currently in the canister to allow you to vacuum longer in between needing to empty. Weight is a bit on the heavier side for this style vacuum with the largest motor and battery that Dyson offer. Filters are easy to clean, with a washable HEPA filter at the back of the motor and a stainless steel screen in the canister. Also have to mention I personally love the bronze, red, and black color scheme. Overall if you are looking for the Ferrari of cordless vacuums that can also mop for you, then look no further.

I have thoroughly tested every attachment that comes with the Dyson V16 Pison Animal Submarine Cordless and 4 out of 5 are AMAZING. Let's start with the not so amazing. The Submarine just wasn't what I wanted it to be. It would be good to pick up dust on tile or laminate or something, but for me, it didn't get any stains up and the cleanup was just wet dust/dirt that the vacuum had missed. Although it was little, I would rather use a steam cleaner or standard mop. Now, on to the good.... This vacuum is like the Green Lantern of vacuums. Seriously, the green illumination on all the floor attachments lights up dust and dirt you never knew was there. I'm not sure of its name, but after using the main attachment, the soft yellow/gray roller is a great way to pick up all the microscopic particles the big guy leaves behind. My floors, both rugs and tile, were noticeably cleaner. I really like the auto feature, like most Dysons, it determines the type of floor the vacuum is on and adjusts the power accordingly. One feature I hadn't seen before is the live feedback you receive informing you of which allergens are being sucked up by the vacuum at any given moment. I'm not sure that feature is necessary but it is interesting. I would give this a 5 star review if the submarine had been more impressive, but you can never really go wrong with a Dyson. Would recommend.
