I followed these thru kickstarter although I was not a backer. When they became available at BB I ordered immediately. When they work, they work great however the listening experience is short-lived. There are a few flaws which IMO do not justify the price tag. Yes, the right earbud occasionally drops out. This is the easiest flaw to overlook. Battery life is around 2.5 hours. When the left earbud is about to run out, there is a brief warning beep. Not knowing exactly how much battery life was left after hearing the warning, I kept them in my ears. Big mistake. When the battery completely drains a LOUD buzzing sound plays from the left earbud and into the ear canal. I could not find any mention of this in their packaging so please remove them immediately when you hear the warning beeps! The charging pod looks sleek but feels really flimsy when it's in the open position. The design of it also requires that the buds be inserted / removed by handling the fragile tips so I can see how another reviewer might have broken it off. Lastly, the pod was clearly not designed to fit earbuds using the largest foam plugs, as you literally have to smush them together just to make them fit inside. Swapping from one bluetooth device to another is also very cumbersome. It is a multistep process involving turning BT on/off and redocking the earbuds. I have noticed that sound quality is better when using the app's gain control. I recommend waiting for the next gen.

I had to try these completely wireless earbuds despite the mixed reviews. The overall sound quality was very good but when watching videos there is a annoying lag from video to sound. When listening to music there is a very noticeable click between songs. There is also is no way to make phone calls and you must take them out to use the phone. The battery lasts about 2.5 hrs streaming music or videos. The charging case is pretty cool but opens too easily. I ended up returning them and look forward to a 2nd generation product. Too expensive for what they are. I'll keep using my Jaybird X2's until then!

    Best product ever...

In all honesty I was skeptical about this product. But I couldn't resist not trying this since this had been a dream of mine. I knew it was just a matter of time that sometime we are going to start seeing true-wireless bluetooth headphones and so here we are, present day. Thank you Earin! Anyways, before purchasing this headphone, I went through some of the reviews here and from the website. It was definitely a tough decision but I had to try it. I am so glad to go by my instinct and tried this for myself. My first pair was an epic fail. The right side kept getting disconnected and sometimes mysteriously quit working. So I took it back and exchanged it for another pair and hoping that is not defective. And my thought was right, the second pair I have is almost perfect. The right ear hardly loses sound and more stable. I'm thinking maybe the earlier batch has some defects but that's just my theory. I notice that my first pair was in a 300's the last 3 digits of the serial number. And my current is in the 500's last digit of the serial number. So for those whose had sound dropping from the right ear, check your serial number. I'm guessing the higher it is the less issue you may have. Anyhow, this is a promising headphone and it is definitely for those who workout and moves around a bit.

First a disclosure ...I am not affiliated or have any monetary interest in this product. This is my second pair and the reason to get into a second pair is that the first pair was stolen from my office. Sound is very satisfying ( I am sure that there is always room for improvement ). Quality of the product very high. Presentation excellent I have read of many problems with them. I have had none in my any of the ones that I bought . Battery works as advertised. Case is very well manufactured and modern. Bass is adequate not exaggerated, and treble balanced... middle as well. Overall well Balanced and comfortable ...totally wireless earbuds I would like longer battery duration and phone capabilities. I would say ...bad reviews either because uninformed use or intentional as a deterrent for prospective buyers.

Elegant design, ergonomic fit, decent clarity of sound, clever recharging capsule all are top notch. BUT the connectivity issues with both the device connecting to the source and keeping both earbuds connected to each other are impossible. And all for $250 !?!?!? Not ready yet. Wait for the next version of these earbuds.

I have used these for a few weeks. The only time I had sound connection problems I was standing next to my microwave oven heating up some water. I have used them outside, walked farther than 30 feet from my iPhone and they were still playing. Drop signals? Relatively rare and comprable to most Bluetooth earbuds/headphones. Simple, elegant, compact design. Lightweight and comfortable. Good passive noise blocking. Music sounds great. Some songs better than others because of recorded quality. Of course, not as good as high-end headphones. No touch control or built-in mic, relatively short battery life (multiple recharges in the case). But, these likely would've bulked up the form factor. These things are small and light. All I can say is technology is wonderful and earin created a groundbreaking product. Truly wireless satisfaction. Can't wait for the next iterations of this technology. 5 stars for the effort on earin's part bringing this new form factor to market AND it is working for me with little to no serious glitches. Just don't stand in front of your microwave heating up something.

    Own them but CANT return!

I bought these thinking it's bout time they made true wireless headphones but These fall short of being good headphones and with a $250 price tag makes them fall short of good. They do sound good and considering the size of each ear bud the do produce a deep bass and clear hi's(I don't listen to my music too loudly)but I found them kinda uncomfortable after 30+ minutes of use(even after trying all 3 sets of tips and inner ear hooks to find what felt best). Also the lack of features offered at that price, these CAN'T even be used for a phone call!

    Amazing Product

I bought these on Kickstarter and wasn't convinced that they were going to be able deliver. Either the sound quality would be bad, the fit would be poor, the battery life would be disappointing but I couldn't have been more wrong. These are easily the best headphones I've ever owned, the sound quality is excellent, dropouts can happen but not often and they only for last for a split second so actually don't create a bad experience. My only regret is buying some powerbeats about a month before these arrived which are now redundant and sitting in a drawer. These are a top quality product and well worth the $250 price tag.

The earin headphones are almost there. I returned them for a few reasons based on how I used them. First off these are a great design. Small enough case to keep in your packet all day so you can make sure you can store them and charge them whenever. I typically got about 2.5 hours of batter in stereo use (both ear buds). The left bed seems to drain quicker than the right, as this is the one connected to the phone. The right one could be popped in the case and taken right back out for about another 30 minutes of single ear use. I am not an audiophile, so the sound wasn't a huge consideration. But the sound in these earbuds was good, not great, good. As good as your wired Apple EarPods, but a little lacking on the bass. Again, as long as I can hear the music, I like them, so these were good. There are two reasons I brought these back. One, the connectivity in stereo mode. The right would cut out from time to time and was quite annoying. It would go in waves. I would typically get 10-15 minutes uninterrupted, and it was glorious! Then the right would cut in and out for a few second at a time. This was also an issue when you pop on out to listen to an announcement at the airport, or listen to the barista when ordering coffee. When you pop one of the buds out, if it is not held close to the other, you are typically forced to put it in the case and take it back out to reset the connection. In mono mode (single earbud) these are awesome! No connectivity issues since they connect right to the phone. It also works with either the left or right earbud. But we don't spend $200+ for a single music playing earbud. The second reason I returned these was because of the phone call functionality. I knew going in that they didn't have a mic which is a small price to pay, but you are not able to select the earbuds as an audio source for the phone call. It is quite inconvenient to pop the earbud out to take a call and then hold the earbud close like I mentioned earlier to keep the connection alive. This cannot be fixed with firmware updates since the firmware is flashed onto the earbuds at the factory and cannot be updated by us, the consumer. What we see is what we get for this release. TL;DR I gave it a 3 star instead of 2 star because It was an ambitious undertaking by the company and I have high hopes for a future release. When they work, they are great. The connectivity and functionality with phone calls just isn't worth the price tag at the moment. There are other options on the horizon.

These are great headphones for specific needs...

I have had these headphones for about three weeks and have actually been more impressed with them than expected. I did not do any research before purchasing them...i saw them in the store and felt they good be the prefect headphones for a specific purpose. Keep in mind that my purpose was to find headphones as compact as possible to use when working out at the gym and/or running. With that in mind, note that I was willing to sacrifice excellent sound quality for the purpose of small size and no wires. Based on the size, I was expecting that they really would not offer much with regard to sound quality. I was very happy to find the sound to be much better than expected. Please note, like all earbuds, the sound quality will greatly depend on how well you get them in your ears and for the tips to seal. If you do not, you will get very little in the bass department. If you can find the right fit with a good seal, the sound is quite good, IMHO. As far as sound, they exceeded my expectations. I was also concerned about them staying in my ears. I have tried a lot of different compact Bluetooth headphones and had multiple issues with comfort and/or getting them to stay in my ears. I was also pleasantly surprised to find these do stay in my ears pretty well with just the installed tips. Since I use them when I am active, I do take the extra precaution and use the included add-ons to help secure them in my ear. That , however, does lead to the first drawback for me. Since I use the extra add-ons, I have to put them on each time I use the headphones, and take them off to put them in the charging case. There is also not a place in the case to store them, so I have try and make sure I keep track of them. All in all, I am happy with how they stay in my ears. I wasn't sure what to expect with battery life. I knew it would be limited based on their compact size. I wasn't too concerned, however, because my intended use is for shorter periods of time, anyway. So far, I have not run out of battery before I completed my workouts. The longest I have used them so far in 90 minutes. The battery life has worked for me. I know there are many mentions of the sound dropping out while listening. I do experience this on both sides from time to time with no rhyme or reason to when it happens...it just happens. For me, the drops are all very brief and does not affect me enough to give up the compact size. Again...this works for my need. As others have also mentioned, there is no mic included in these headphones. Please note that you will also not receive ANY phone audio through the headphones. If your need includes using your headphones for phone conversations, this is not the right product for you...it will not work. I don't answer my phone while working out, so again, these work for me. Just like all products, these headphones have strengths and weaknesses. As long as you consider what you are going to use the headphones for and what your expectations are, these very well may be the right ones for you. For my needs, they work very well. It is hard, however, when it is something new and the competition does not really have theirs on the market yet. All in all, I would recommend these to a friend as long as they had a similar need for headphones...they are not the right choice for everyone. Pros - Compact size - No Wires - Sound (better than expected) - Versatility - Fit Cons - Price - Sound does drop out from time to time - Charging case only hold the ear buds...no other accessories - Can't use for phone conversations
