I bought this game so my 10-year-old son and I could share a local co-op multiplayer experience without excessive, realistic violence (such as shooting other people in the head). It fits the bill perfectly, as the premise involves teaming up to wipe out giant alien bugs and robots. There are a few different character classes to choose from, so in a two-player game, each player can select a different class, which helps cover the other player's weaknesses. There are also A.I. squad mates, and they seem to do a pretty good job. They can usually be counted on to revive you if you lose all your health. My only gripe would be that the levels could use a bit more variety, but that's a small complaint. Overall, it's a really solid game if you're looking for local co-op that isn't filled with over-the-top violence. It's perfect for boys in that 9-12 age range.

Thought this would be fun to play with my son but it wasn't. The vertical split screen is horrible and it's very repatative. Kill bugs kill bugs kill bugs.

Gets a little boring after playing several levels but overall not bad
