Horrible item
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t waste your money! It’s horrible! I have brand new hardwood floors and one rug in my living room and this vacuum always gets stuck and errors. I haven’t even used it for weeks now because it’s horrible

Good Quality Entry Level Vacuum. Reasonably priced
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this lower-priced entry level model, but overall, I am very satisfied. Vacuuming robots are not new to my household. In fact, I have a more expensive model by a well-established competitor. Understanding that the Ecovacs Deebot N79SE costs reasonably less, I didn’t expect it to perform as well as my more expensive model. However, given the difference (which I well explain further below), the Deebot did a good job vacuuming both my hardwood floors and area rugs. There are a few physical differences that I noticed after unpacking the vacuum. The unit itself is slightly smaller, and I mean slightly, than my other robot vacuum (see pic). The difference in size has both some benefits and downsides. A benefit was that this robot was able to get under furniture that the other vacuuming robot couldn’t fit under. So, it was nice getting these areas cleaned by a robot, rather than getting on my hands and knees to clean underneath this furniture. A downside of its slightly smaller size is a smaller roller brush underneath, and smaller wheels. Again, given that this vacuum is an entry level model, I wasn’t surprised to see smaller mechanical parts underneath. Being suspicious of this, I wanted to evaluate how well the unit handled driving over hardwood vs rugs and carpets. Overall, the motors that drive the wheels were more than capable of moving this unit over all types of surfaces. The only time it struggled to move as efficiently as its usual brisk pace was when I placed it on my extra long shag carpet. It still was able to vacuum the shag carpet, but I could tell it was struggling to drive over this surface. My guess is that if you have long-pile carpets and you’re looking for a vacuuming robot, it’s probably best to invest in a larger/more robust (and more expensive) unit. Otherwise, this unit does a good job vacuuming my floors and rugs. Other observations worth noting, its battery and runtime is sufficient. I find that it will vacuum for close to an hour before needing to return to its charging base. The unit’s main roller brush does a good job picking up dirt, debris, cat hair, and dust bunnies. My unit didn’t have any issues parking itself back onto its base. It should be noted that I have its base located on hardwood floor. The dust bin’s capacity is comparable in size to my other vacuuming robot; this is a good thing. But there are a few more parts/filters inside the dust bin that need to be removed and shaken-off than my other robot. This makes it a little more cumbersome to clean the dust bin, but the extra filters do help keep particles inside the bin rather than thrown back into the air. One note regarding setup. This unit has a companion app. After downloading the app and beginning the pairing process. The app kept on telling me that it’s not compatible with 5GHz networks. I own a newer style router, known as a mesh network (Linksys Velop). It runs both 2.4 & 5GHz bands using the same SSID (network name). The Ecovacs app couldn’t detect this, and figured I was trying to connect it to a 5GHz network. I selected the option to ignore the warning and continued with the setup. The app was able to locate the Deebot vacuum and join it to my network without an issue. The app itself is a no-frills app. It allows you to initiate vacuuming, manually drive the unit, set daily schedules, check its battery level (3 bars), get a percentage of the remaining lifespan on its consumables (e.g. brushes and filters), and power mode. The latter option is worth expanding on. Within the app, there is an option to select “Standard” vs “Max” power. After testing out both options, there is a noticeable difference between the two. Max power increases the fan and vacuuming power. I prefer to leave it on the Max setting; it does consume the battery quicker, but that’s a tradeoff I’m willing to accept. Also, the power selection option is only available on the app; it’s not an option on the included remote. The remote itself is very convenient. It has the same features as the app, minus the power selection and consumable monitoring. An added bonus is my 7-year-old is very happy to vacuum now. The remote allows him to drive the vacuum around the house as if it’s a remote-controlled car. Another functional feature is this vacuum’s ability to connect with Google Assistant. I was able to easily get it connected using the following steps: opened the Google Home app, selected “Add” (see pic), selected “Set up device”, selected “Works with google”, searched for “Deebot” from the list of services, was asked to login into my Ecovacs Deebot account (an account that you’re asked to create when you first setup your vacuum within its Ecovacs app), and finally confirmed linking my account to Google Home. After this initial setup, I am able to initiate vacuuming by saying “OK Google” to my phone, then telling it to “start vacuuming.” The Deebot undocks itself and begins vacuuming. Other commands I’ve used are “stop vacuuming” and “dock vacuum.” I’ve not had any issues using Google Assistant to send commands to my vacuum. Overall, I’m quite happy with this unit. It’s easy to use and does a good job vacuuming. It’s also reasonably priced.

Helps maintain clean floor between deep cleaning..
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review of ECOVACS Robotics - DEEBOT N79SE. Cannot replace my Dyson upright but replaces the need for me to sweep up in between my end of the week deep cleans. What I like about it: -I press a button and it does the sweeping for me -cleans whole house and more on 1 charge (single level home) -picks up long hair that falls on floor -cleans all the crumbs etc from under kitchen table -does a good job not running into things -quick start guide quick and easy to follow -not very loud (about same loudness of hair dryer on low being used in a different room) -remote and app are good -finds charging port What I didn't like: -Didn't do a great job on our carpet (thick pad and thick carpet -leaves tire imprints in carpet that eventually goes away -the side brushes seem to still spin on carpet and shouldn't -the side brushes sometimes flick debris away from main brush (opposite of what is intended) -no replacement side brushes or filter included -emptying dust bin not fun I would recommend this robot vac to hold your house over until you have the chance to use an upright type vac to really clean if you have carpet in the house. On hard surfaces such as wood, tile, etc this will do fine and no need for separate upright style vac. I have a rounded entry area in my house and the unit cannot track the wall correctly there and changes it path. Straight runs on the wall the unit does fine. You have to make sure to pickup anything that isn't trash off the floor, towels, plastic bags, etc like you would normally due with a regular vac. I didn't realized a plastic shopping bag was under my bed. came home and vac shut itself off because plastic bag was caught inside main roller. Once I took it off vac eventually found charging base. My tile floor haven't been cleaner. I was amazed at how much dust and debris was in dust bin after one use. I keep my floors pretty clean. I haven't looked into if the unit has a user replaceable battery. Hopefully the battery will last more than a couple of years. When I leave the house for errands etc I usually let the deebot do its thing. I can breathe better knowing the deebot is picking up all the dust off the floor.

A good little bot for a great price.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first robotic appliance so my novelty views may be skewed a bit. Though I've seen other models at the stores, but they were too expensive to approach on a whim. So I was happy to find the Deebot at this price point, it may not be the cheapest available, but it seemed to be better quality. I found it to be capable of vacuuming dust and debris you would typically sweep with a broom with the bonus of cleaning the area rugs as well. It handled rug edges with ease and worked better than I expected on most carpet ( sluggish on high pile). The unit comes with a remote that is straight forward and comes with 4 different cleaning profiles, setting schedules, and directional buttons (when you think it missed something or it got stuck somewhere you can't reach) The auto mode can be initiated from the remote or the main button on the unit. In auto mode, the bot travels in a haphazard way, not sure how much of the floor is covered. It's sensors prevent it from hitting most objects, turning about 6 inches from he obstacle. It has trouble seeing dark objects and usually bumps into them before changing course. It has gotten stuck in one corner several times, otherwise roams freely and covers a lot of ground in short periods. I downloaded the app for the Ecovac, but found it offers nearly the same features as the remote, with the exception of changing the suction power from standard to max and activating away from home. I don't think I will be turning it on when I'm not home anyway since the app does not offer a map telling me it's location in the house as I would imagine is available on more expensive units. The dust cup is pretty big and handles 2 daily cleanings of about 2000sf, more or less depending on dirt level. It goes on battery save mode when the recharge button is pressed though if it's far from the base, it could take a while to get there. A good little bot that works best on smaller footprints due to it's lack of more expensive features like gps and home mapping software. The price point should give people on the fence an easier decision to see what they're missing.

Standard, Solid
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All in all this unit gets the job done for a couple of core reasons. Functionality and ease of use. When i first got this unit i was concerned that, at a glance, it wouldnt fit under coffee tables or end tables. I was wrong, it does. Its slim fit design does the trick. I was impressed to say the least. This unit works best on hardwood or low vacuum (from my experience) but still can easily do a quick once over on my entire main floor in 30 mins. Outside of the companion app being very user friendly, i would say that this unit is a very basic unit that gets the job done. The second reason i like this unit is because of its ease of use. I have no issues using its app or remote control to boot it up and send it on its way to clean. The standard, solid vacuuming power paired with the companion app and functionality to start/schedule cleaning are the two reasons why i recommend this unit as a future purchase. All in all worth the buy!

Great vac for my apt
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so in love with my Deebot! It does an amazing job on my wood floors and area rugs. It picks up pet hair, cat litter, spilled kibble and general dust with ease. It is flat enough to go under my dresser and small enough to get between the dining room chair legs. It is not too loud and and doesn't scare or run into my cats. I love that you can program it and the remote control is good. I haven't used it with the app yet, but even just putting it on auto clean works well. It doesn't always take the most efficient path, but it gets the job done. Sometimes it gets lost on the way back to it's charging base, but overall you sure don't need to do much to keep your floors clean. The set up was very easy, the bagless collection bin is easy to empty, a reasonable size and it has a dust filter. It does not like carpet with fringe edges so I tuck the edges under and it does the job. I am impressed with its ability to go over thresholds. I didn't expect it to make the climb up about an inch or so from dining room to kitchen, but it does it. It does my whole 2 bedroom apt on a single charge and I only have to empty the bin when it is done. I highly recommend this vac for its performance, design, ease of use and the amazing price. Totally worth it.

Great product at an affordable price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a German Shepherd who sheds like you would not believe and this product keeps all of the hair under control. For the first time in years, my house always looks clean. I've set this unit to run when I am not home every other day and that does the trick. I would run it daily but heavy use means you'll need to replace the brushes and filters more often according to the app that tracks usage. No matter how you set the schedule, you will have to remember to dump the storage bin regularly as it does not warn you when it is full. It also has a seemingly meaningless couple of patterns that it runs, if you watch it drive into a tight spot it may drive you crazy as it turns into objects looking for an exit but it will find a way out and whatever algorithm it uses to choose a path to clean, it does seem to get most every spot in my home, even the smaller out of the way areas. It is simple, but it does the job and it finds its charger before the battery dies. I'm a believer.

Time saver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Deebot vacuum because it does the work I don't want to do. If you're looking for a basic robot vacuum, it's not a bad option. If you're looking for a real smart vacuum with features galore, then look elsewhere. The pros for this vacuum include the suction, noise level, run time, charge, can fit under bed, app control and Alexa. Cons are that you really have to make sure you pick up the floor first, it struggles going from tile to bathroom rug, it zips around in a very unsophisticated manner and so I'm only sure that it's finished cleaning based on the marks on the carpet. If you don't have carpet, i don't know how you'd know when it was done with a job.

Excellent Quality for Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the Ecovac N79SE for 5 weeks and have used it most every day. It has performed extremely well thus far. What it is NOT: You can't set it up and turn it loose with no prep on your part. I have found the vac to do an efficient job in my 2000 square foot house. Each time it ventures out, I prep my home. I put chairs up, make sure cords are not dangling, close off any rooms I don't want him in etc. I allowed him the first time out to maneuver around all 6 of my kitchen table chairs and it did a very good job of it but expended much effort. I would lift the chairs up on the table to vacuum on my own, so I do the same to allow the vac to do it's job efficiently. Each time it vacuums I empty out the bin, this isn't required, but I do it and each time I am amazed at the amount of dust and hair it picks up after vacuuming just the day before. It is very though as it goes over my area rug, hard floors, up under furniture and in the corners. The battery runs for just over 90 minutes before it returns to its' station to recharge. I have found it helpful to let the vac do its' thing almost every day and I fill in doing an occasional, deep vacuum. I found having it run at night to distract sleep in our home, so I have him run in the mornings. The phone app is efficient and easy to work. I have actually found it easier to prep my home, and push the button on the vac directly to send it out. Guess I'm still a little old school. In summary, the vac is not one that can go out and maneuver easily around a cluttered, obstacle filled home. It could probably do it, but use much time and battery feeling its way around things where it wouldn't be as efficient. However, if you prep your home he takes care of the maintenance cleaning, allowing you to do occasional deep cleans. At this price point, I am very pleased with the power, cleaning and efficiency of this little vac.

First time Robot Vacuum -Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in early December 2019 and wanted to wait a while to give my thoughts. I got this for a good price on sale. Pros: Price Easy to clean and maintain Does a good job, much less normal vacuuming doing the floors Cons; Occasionally gets stuck Sometimes won't leave one area, but eventually does Overall for a first robot vacuum cleaner I am impressed. As long as you don't expect to not vacuum or do floors ever. Then it works as advertised.

Incredible. Satisfying. Like Having a Maid.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am the man this Christmas. This was the best buy. The gift of all gifts. My wife is through the roof happy. "Hey hun remember when we had to go to the pantry closet, haul out the shark, unwind that cord, navigate through the mess just to find a place to plug in - clunk the monster around the room running over crap and sneezing up a storm because of my allergies...." those are days of the past. But now: THE F U T U R E is here. This machine is incredible to watch. » It's quiet enough to run after the kids are in bed. » It doesn't fall off staircases with it's detection sensors. » It has an app for the phone so you can feel like a kid again and remote control car the thing around the room. Or just set times you want this thing to get to work throughout the day whether you are home or away. You'll be coming home to a fresh floor. » Fun to watch work while you do OTHER things not wasting time vacuuming. » It returns to it's home when the battery gets low and DOCKS ITSELF! » It has edge cleaning, navigates well » Has surprisingly great suction but not enough where it's going to damage wires or kids toys » Gets the job done » I don't have to do anything Few Cons: » Does lightly bump into things » It's quiet enough to run when kids are sleeping but it is a power tool and moving around so it has some sound. » Very very very few times it has gotten stuck but all fixable by relocating an item. » Has an on/off switch that can get turned off but has only happened once by me accidentally. More of a this is for your info and not much a con. It's amazing and worth every penny! I bought this as a doorbuster price online for $135 + tax but I'd pay full price for this. I could not pass on that doorbuster price though lucky me :) And my wife can't stop commenting on how amazing the thing is.

Good starter vacuume
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good starter vacuume but after a year of use I'm ready for a better one. At first the daily vacuuming made a noticable difference. I have two dogs one of which sheds like crazy and the vacuume made a world of a difference ! Cons: gets stuck everywhere since it just pings around the room. Got annoying after a year. Moved to a new place and have had no luck connecting it to the wifi so I can use it from my phone. I haven't been able to put it on a schedule either do to this. So now I'm just over it. It's a good starter vacuume for the price and does the job. Picks up pretty well.

First Robot Vacum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't understand the routes it takes, or if it keeps track of where it has been, but it seems to cover the majority of the floor. It keeps the common areas clean and makes it where I only have to sweep the little places once a week. I purchased it originally because I was fostering 2 dogs that got hair everywhere but this guy which we named Freddie took care if it. The app works well and it was easy to setup. I use it with Google home and it responds. The bin needs to be cleaned out regularly also. Overall I have been very satisfied with it.

does what I expected
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this works fairly well. Remote doesn't always send it where I want it to go but other than that being a small inconvenience it does a good job of vacuuming carpets and tile floors. has gotten stuck under bed a few times but I have a temprpedic with wires under bed I do try to pick up those wires but I cant remove them all the way. dirt bin is fairly easy to remove and empty. I have a fairly open floor plan and batter charge seems to last for whole house roughly 2800 sq ft.

Performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have looked at the robot vacuum’s over the last year and decided to try this one out. For the price it does extremely well. It does a good job on the tile, the carpet, and on pet hair. Once it hits recharge mode it wonders around until it gets close enough to the base to go and dock. With that, sometimes it will not make it back to the charger but positioning the docking station in a different location will improve that. The brushes and filters are reasonable priced and the vacuum is an inexpensive option to try out a robot vacuum. Also, with the height and power it is able to get under all the furniture without any problems.

Great Product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was our first robovac and it has been a great tool. It runs around our entire house and has done such a great job helping to keep the floors clean and get those hard to reach areas. It's also fairly quiet so it doesn't bother our dog either. The only major complaint is it doesn't learn where it can't go. It gets stuck trying to go under our couch almost every day.

Decent Robotic Vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the DEEBOT N79 along with a Shark AV2001 to clean the upstairs and downstairs of my home. I read great reviews when researching the DEEBOT and got it at a good price at BEST BUY. I got an even better deal on the Shark. The DEEBOT does a nice job of vacuuming and has a larger container for dirt and dust. It is easy to maintain and empty. The one area that tends to be problematic is it tends to get stuck on one of my area rugs in an upstairs bedroom. After it beeps, I turn it off, move the vacuum, turn it back on, and then let it continue or redo the entire cycle. This vacuum does not have mapping, so it tends to go over the same area to ensure no dirt is left behind. Overall, it's a decent basic vacuum and one can easily find replacement parts and brushes to replace as needed. It has some handy features. I do prefer the Shark vacuum because of the mapping, although this one seems to always have a fuller container, but it may be due to more area rugs upstairs.
