WOW! Real-World Speeds That Back the Hype

After dealing with inconsistent speeds, laggy Zoom calls, and sketchy coverage in certain rooms, I finally made the jump to the Eero Max 7 only using Wifi!! I’ve tested multiple speed points before and after, and the difference is night and day. Previously I was stuck with sub-100 Mbps in some areas—now I’m averaging 500–700 Mbps, even during peak hours. It’s tri-band Wi-Fi 7, so if you’re future-proofing, this is it. What impressed me most is that the performance didn’t just spike in one room—it leveled up my whole house. Even outdoor areas where I used to barely get signal now stream video effortlessly. The mesh integration works perfectly—I added another Eero to expand range, and it linked automatically. If you’re comparing mesh systems or wondering if it’s worth the price, the answer is a solid yes. It’s fast, stable, easy to manage, and ready for whatever high-bandwidth tasks you throw at it—gaming, streaming, remote work, or even multiple users running all at once.

Definitive Review from long-time Eero customer

I was one of the first people in 2016-2017 to embrace Eero's first home mesh WiFi system. Eero's mesh system enabled me to extend WiFi coverage to every corner of my large home. A year later, I upgraded to their second-generation (5G) system which I have been using for approximately 7 years. Having been a long-time user of Eero products, I can confidently say that they are the most reliable mesh systems available. There may be a never-ending debate as to whether they are the fastest mesh system out there, but there is no debate that out of the box, they just work. I found this out the hard way when I decided earlier this year to upgrade to a modern WiFi 7 mesh system. I bought the TP-LINK Deco BE85, thinking it would significantly outperform my old Eero mesh system. Instead, I found myself dealing with constant dropped connections and incompatibility between my Nest and Ring cameras. I ended up returning that product within a day. Upgrading to the Eero Max 7 was an expensive proposition. I needed the 3-pack and as such, I would spend well over $1k to obtain it. I waited until there was a small price drop at BestBuy and then made the purchase. The Eero 7 Max nodes are huge. Whereas, the smaller pucks of models that came before it could easily be hidden, there is no disguising these massive radios. The devices are extremely well-built and very attractive. They feature two 10GB and two 2.5GB ports. The one thing that bothers me about this upgrade is that for the price, Eero doesn't offer a USB slot to connect a hard drive that could be accessed across the network like other mesh systems do. This is a huge misfire for the product, in my opinion. So, for years I have had a 1GB incoming connection from Verizon Fios. With the older Eero 5G mesh system, I have never been able to obtain 1GB speed wirelessly. I knew that with the new Eero Max 7, obtaining that speed would also be impossible, but I knew there would be improvement over what I had. My Eero 7 Max setup is as follows: Verizon Fios Router -> Eero Max 7 Ethernet backhaul connection from the first Eero to a second at the opposite end of the house. Wireless connection for third Eero located in the basement. It took a few days for my Eero system to adapt itself to its new environment and delegate its channels accordingly. I also had to play around with the Ookla SpeedTest app to find the most optimal connection to perform the tests I was about to reveal. With my old 2nd generation Eero system and an incoming 1GB connection, at best, I was able to get 350 Mbps wireless close to the Eero node. With the new Eero 7 Max, I saw those speeds jump significantly... 928Mbps on a WiFi 7 device (iPhone 16 Pro Max) 680Mbps on a WiFi 6 device (M4 iPad Pro) 580Mbps on a WiFi 5 device (M1 Macbook Pro) The most significant result of this test was that I could indeed, on a WiFi 7 device, achieve 1GB (or just at) wireless speed. Of course, that speed decreased as I moved farther away from the node, but overall, my entire home retained significant signal coverage. And, as expected, my Nest and Ring products immediately connected (which did not happen with the TP-LINK Deco mesh system). It's important to note here that mesh systems are not perfect and most often, will only provide a wireless speed less than what your Internet connection is rated for. I was very fortunate to have gotten these kinds of speeds, but speaking with Eero support (who were excellent), they reminded me that, "In reality, the average wireless speed expected is at least 40% from the access point." This is a powerhouse product with very strong radios that provide ample coverage for a large multi-level home. That being said, like any new product, it's grossly overpriced. I also need to reiterate that at this price point, there should have been a USB port included to connect a hard drive. In the end, the numbers I provided speak for themselves. This mesh system exceeded my expectations. I have had no issues since connecting. I have no disconnections. I have no regrets. As Apple catches up and adds more WiFi 7 support to their products, I look forward to all my devices running at optimal WiFi speed.

I have had this for several months now and I wanted to give it time so I can write a proper review. Let me tell you this thing is a beast. It has never failed. It has never let me down. We have over 100 devices attached to it and everything has been very reliable and quick. It also broadcast out to another building 300 feet away. That is my workshop and I still get Wi-Fi in there. We have over 1tb of speed and it handles it so well. As for gaming this is what you want. It’s a little pricy but worth every penny

I really wanted an Eero 7 Pro Max router but the price tag has been holding me back for months, I wish I could give it 5 stars but it’s too expensive and for that reason alone, I give it 4 stars. If money is not an issue for you, than this is a must have for speed, reliability and future proofing your wi-fi needs. I paired it with 2 of my original 1st gen erro routers which cost me $500 for a three pack and it boosted my speeds throughout my home network, but clearly the speeds are much, much higher when I’m in range of the 7 pro max. I am looking forward to being able to afford 2 more eero 7 pro max’s to take advantage of having consistent high speed internet in my home

I replaced four (4) eero Pro 6E's with this mesh set of 4 eero Max 7's (3 pack + 1 pack). These are definitely larger than the eero Pro 6E's and - at first - seemed like the performance was comparable. I managed to pick these Max 7's up on a great Best Buy Promo/Sale, otherwise I probably would've returned them given that I didn't see any immediate speed difference. Once I pulled all of my Pro 6E's off of the network and left only these four eero Max 7's, it took a couple weeks to optimize. After allowing them to optimize, I'm now getting ~1.2Gbps Down on a 1Gbps Internet connection. For reference, I could generally get 6-800 Mbps on the Pro 6E's. It appears to me the trick is to get them setup and let them tweak things for a couple weeks before making a judgement on the effectiveness. The Max 7's are quite a bit larger than the Pro 6E which is larger than the Pro (photos for size comparison) I'm pretty happy with them now, though they are cost-prohibitive for some people. Overall 4.5/5

Would be perfect if everything wasn't locked behind a subscription. Want to view any sort of network analytics? Only if you pay. Want to change any DDNS settings? You got it for $10/month or, since we are friends, $99.99/year. For $600 per node you would think these features would just be included. I can understand charging for VPN, anti virus, or ad blocker but network controls? On a mesh system that can cost thousands of dollars? Set up is pretty straight forward, just download and follow the app. Range is pretty decent, but you do quickly lose speed if you go a floor apart. I get it, a floor is pretty far but when a single node should cover 1500-2500 sq. Ft. I feel like I should get a stronger connection when one node is in an unfinished basement and the other is a floor up maybe 20 ft away... Instead I get about 1gb up and down on the hardwired node, but around 30-50 MB on the wireless node.

I was caught by surprise by the substantially improved performance of the 5 & 2.4 bands when I fired up the Eero Max 7! I expected robust 6 / 6e and was not disappointed, but compared with Eero’s best 6e router, I get virtually double the signal strength on 5 & 2.4 bands over a greater area with Max 7! This is one powerful performer & will transform your WiFi into the Elite status.

A Worthy Upgrade with One Drawback

I recently upgraded from the Eero Pro 6 to the Eero Max 7, and the difference has been nothing short of impressive. Without changing anything else in my setup, my wireless speeds more than doubled, which speaks volumes about its performance. While the Eero Max 7 is overkill for my 1.2 Gbps internet plan, the improved coverage and consistency make it well worth the upgrade—it’s a night-and-day difference compared to the Pro 6. My only real complaint is the size. Each node is almost four times larger than the Pro 6, which is quite a jump. (I’ve included a picture for scale.) That said, if you want top-tier Wi-Fi performance and future-proofing, the Eero Max 7 delivers in a big way.

I give it 5 stars because I do think at this point this is the best Eero mesh system, the speeds are much faster, larger coverage, and 3 pack pretty much covers my entire house of over 3000 sq ft. Previously I had Eero Pro 6, and 5 pack of them did a decent job, but with 3 pack of Eero Max 7 now I’m seeing two times faster speeds. I do have a WiFi 7 device, while connectivity is always steady, but speeds are less than 6e/6 results.

We've been wanting to upgrade our home Wi-Fi system since we knew that 2 gigablast was soon to become available in our area. Besides which, our current equipment just wasn't performing as it once had. And with Eero being a brand of tech we were already familiar using and have been quite pleased with overall, we were excited to get this Eero Max 7 tri-band mesh Wi-Fi 7 system so that we would be prepared for that faster 2 gig internet upgrade to come. Since we had an Eero 6 Wi-Fi router, we just added the new Max 7 and switched out our previous router in the Eero app (which you will need to install on your mobile device), contacted our ISP to make sure all was well with our internet, and we were good to go! We have 40-50 devices connected to our home network on a daily basis. This Eero Max 7 is able to handle that, and more. After doing a basic Speed Test, I found that our internet download and upload speed numbers had gone up. I noticed that there seemed to be less delay when scrolling through my streaming services both on my Smart TV and mobile devices, and videos appeared to play more smoothly. But what really mattered to me was the stability, consistency, and reliability of the connection for the various devices on our home security system. Here is where I initially noted a stark difference. Usually, the security cameras don't immediately update to the present time and show what is happening outside. Often, I have to manually refresh their feed. However, since upgrading to this Eero Max 7, within moments of checking my security cameras, they refresh themselves and display those all-important current visuals. Network security is important to us. And Eero has built-in features to assist with that. In the app, you are able to not only see how well your internet is performing and monitor every device connected to your Wi-Fi, but also check your system's activity to see how many threats were blocked and on what device, etc. Be aware, this unit is huge! It measures 8.75" by 7.25", so may take up a bit more room than the router you may currently be using. Not that this is a 'downside' by any means. While this Eero Max 7 is "hefty" it's built really solid, sits securely on my TV stand, and looks as modern as it truly is. So far, we're beyond impressed by the overall performance of this Eero Max 7. Eero, in my experience, is one of a select few tech brands which I have no reservations recommending.

eero Max 7 - The Future of Fast Wi-Fi

The eero Max 7 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 Router is the newly released Wi-Fi 7 router to hit the market. It’s cutting-edge to the point that a majority of hardware today does not yet support the new standard. However, in a world that’s always looking to stay a step ahead in technology, the eero Max 7 is leading that charge! With all the included technology users will be pleasantly surprised at how easy these devices are to set up, mesh and begin using. Without a doubt, it was one of the easiest setups of any device added recently and was completed from opening the box to online in less than 10 minutes. I was replacing a wifi setup from a competitor and was expecting crossover issues, but this was not the case. All that’s needed is to download the eero app, connect the router(s) and walk through the installation process in the app. A single router covers 2,500 sq. ft. and additional routers can be added to cover up to 7,500 sq. ft. spaces. In my case it’s a two-router mesh setup and easily supports our 3,800 sq. ft. home with 32 devices currently supported. Setting up the multi-router system is a breeze and all done through the eero app. The eero app is also a great addition to the Max 7 system, with many features to manage your internet connection, users, routers, etc. It’s required for setting up and managing the system. The free version provides a plethora of settings and control features and eero also offers a subscription model with additional security, backup and parental controls to name a few. Overall Impressions – the eero Max 7 is a breeze to set up and once up and running it’s sort of a “set it and forget it” device. Firmware and software updates can be set to auto-update and the app will manage to network and report any issues. So these routers are FAST, they are built for speed, but for my needs what really shines is the coverage. I have multiple Wi-Fi cameras outside, a home office with multiple computers and peripherals and our personal devices (which add up quickly between laptops, tablets, watches, phones, etc.). The eero Max 7’s mesh coverage has not wavered since set up was completed. My previous system would often drop the outside cameras due to lack of consistent coverage. And yes these routers are fast as expected, speed tests have averaged 435 Mbps download and 13 Mbps upload speeds. Although as mentioned previously, a majority of devices don’t yet support the Wi-Fi 7 platform, I’m happy to know that this router will support our needs for many years to come! Pros: - Ease of set up and use with eero app - eero app is more than adequate and additional features are available through subscription - Fast, fast, fast and rock-solid mesh coverage - eero Max 7 is esthetically pleasing and fits into our home and office décor - Routers easily cover our 3,800 sqft home with mesh support between 2 routers - Four ethernet ports – 2 x 10 Gbe and 2 x 2.5 Gbe - Support for 100+ devices Cons: - Can only be set up on mobile device with eero app – not a concern for me personally - May be user error, but many devices on the network are listed as “Unnamed” in the app. The eero Max 7 Tri-band Mesh Router is the future of Wi-Fi and it’s here now! I would recommend them to anyone looking to update their home or small office wi-fi setup. They are fast, signal strength is rock solid, and they look great too!

For years I’ve been trying to find a router that can be the perfect match for my internet provider. I’ve tried countless different routers, including the provided router from my internet provider and I continue to have inconsistent connection issues. I’m not quite familiar with eero but because of the Amazon brand reputation I thought I should give it a try. The delivery was id required to minimize miss delivery, and theft from porch pirates. It worked fine for me since I was home for the delivery. It was well packaged with thick cardboard and no damage to the contents inside. Taking the routers out the box I can feel the weight and quality. It t has a simple shape with a glossy finish that compliments my tv stand. I do think a black finish would probably be better since everything else is black but it looks good. Setting up the eero Max 7 was extremely easy for me. I allocated my Saturday to get it done but I had it all set up in just a few minutes. The eero app walked me through it all and it was a great experience. I did spend extra time to label the connected devices so I can see the activity and troubleshooting if I need to later. Most was labeled by eero so it didn’t take long to edit or add the rest of my devices description. So far I’m happy with the performance of the eero Max 7. I’m not noticing any connection issues between my devices and router. With my old router I often use to get issues with streaming and sometimes my smart home devices. The eero Max 7 seems to be handling the issue. In the app I was able to pause or terminate any device using my network. The app is easy and quick allowing me to make changes I see fit to protect my network. I love the speed test feature that lets me know what my internet speed is recommended for. I have my entire home covered and no dead zones. This is perfect for me in the future too because it is true mesh, wap3, WiFi 7, supports over 200 devices and much more. I can’t wait to have my family and friends over for the holidays to see how well it handles that many people using their devices. I know I’ll find more to love about the eero max 7 router. I truly recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade to their router.
