Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little apprehensive to buy "Eight Days a Week" only because I already own the 'Beatles Anthology". I was wrong. I bought the Deluxe version, disc one is the documentary, and disc two is the extra features. The documentary goes from the very early years of pre-Beatlemania, to the rooftop concert from 'Let It Be". I'm not sure the interviews with Whoopi Goldberg or Sigourney Weaver, were necessary, and you get the feeling by the end of the film, the band was TIRED of being on the road. Disc 2 includes interviews with all for Beatles, throughout the years, and people that knew them through their 'bigger than life' career. Disc 2 only goes to 1965. This is an excellent documentary that shows 'musical history' in the making. Ron Howard outdid himself and did his homework to put this film together . Bravo !!!

Beatles fans rejoice!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Entertaining and informative documentary covering the history of the Beatles' years on stage. The surprise is that the film continues beyond 1966 when the Beatles stopped touring. It briefly explores their years in the studio and the five albums made after 1966. It culminates w/ their rooftop performance atop Abbey Road studios. Included are dozens of film clips and stills of the group rarely, if ever, seen by fans before now. Guaranteed to bring a smile to all who were there or wish they were. A second disc of of special features covers even more details of the band's early years and includes rarely seen live performances. A thick booklet filled w/ pics and commentary on how the Beatles became the personification of the 60's youth culture completes the package.

Essential document of Rock history
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Beatles were the greatest Rock band in history. They also possessed a charm and sense of humor unsurpassed by any of their rivals or successors. Their studio tracks are the best way to experience their music, but an understanding of the social and musical explosion of Beatlemania requires viewing live footage of their concerts. Also, footage of the chaos surrounding their tours, the logistics of getting from place to place, as well as the press conferences that helped cement their image, are all ably captured by director Ron Howard. Any Beatles fan or fan of popular music history, will appreciate owning this.

Toppermost package with one regret
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a start by saying that I am a huge Beatles fan. I have purchased all sorts of Beatles merchandise for many years and have a pretty extensive video collection. I saw the film during its limited theatrical run not really expecting to see anything new. Most everything I had seen before but the quality of the film was much better than I had ever seen before. My favorite new footage was an interview clip during which George Harrison flicks his cigarette ashes upon the head an unsuspecting John Lennon. Ron Howard did an excellent job with this epic undertaking. The extras were great but my one complaint is that the complete ashes Stadium film was not included. Theatregoers were treated to that bonus after the credits rolled for the film. It's nitpicking, I know, and I know that Apple doesn't wanna give anything away for free that it can make us pay for at a later date (cough cough "Let It Be" cough cough!). In any case, this film will appeal to music lovers just discovering the Beatles as well as diehard Beatlemaniacd alike. A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

Another dimension to the Beatles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No matter what your level of interest or knowledge of the Beatles might be, this Ron Howard produced double DVD will provide new insight and perspective of the band, their music and the times. Even if you streamed the "Eight Days A Week" movie on Netflix earlier in the year, the companion disc goes into even more detail that is sure to entertain and educate. Highly recommended

The Beatles, Ron Howard- 'nuff said!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. How can you go wrong with great music, four interesting guys, and a great story that occurred during a critical point in American history? Ron Howard takes it and does exactly what he's done in so many of his movies: he tells a beautiful story. Even die hard Beatle fans who've seen all of the bands history already will enjoy it.

Great DVD!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ron Howard did a great job covering the touring years of the Beatles. Amazingly, he presented a new take on a story we all thought we already knew. I saw the Beatles when I was a kid. This brought that moment back to life.

Excellent Documentary
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent documentary for both Beatle fenatics, the casual fan, or younger generations interested in learning what "Beatlemania" was all about. Excellent direction by Ron Howard. It would have been nice to have included the 30 minute Beatles at Shea stadium portion, which was shown in theatres following the conclusion of the documentary film. I suppose it will be released separately in the future. Hopefully the documentary film "Let It Be" will also someday be released.

Ron Howard Knows Beatlemania!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say? It's the Beatles in concert. Awesome! And Ron Howard picks some great clips of the Fab Four. If you are a Beatles fan (and who isn't?) then, you don't need me to tell you that you need to get this DVD.

Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me say that I'm not a big fan of Ron Howard's directorial skills and when I heard he was attached to this project I grimaced, but the end result is solid, more focused than I expected.

Lots of Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was 13 in 1964 when the Beatles hit the states. I even participated in a Beatles look a like concert (less the hair) with my 4-H troop. It was a lot of fun and so is this set.

For all music/Beatle fans
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very interesting compilation of their early years and interviews. Brought back a lot of memories. The world has really changed since then and they had a lot to do with it, I think.
