Not Common's best yet takes a little getting used to after a couple of plays. It has a lot of experimentation of his sound yet lacks any substantial impact.

    A Different Common

I respect the experimentation from Common on this album. The production is definitely....different. But lyric-wise i wasn't surprised. To get a little more in depth [and maybe to help a customer out], the album is called The Electric Circus because the beats all had the sounds of an electric guitar in them. Unlike many others, I actually thinks it's a pretty good album still. The beats are just different.

    Mind-boggling

I don't understand why people gave this album so much flack because it was "different". People start getting comfortable with Common staying on the Chicago hip-hop sound and the minute he expresses his appreciation for other style of music, people want to judge based off of expectations. Since when did people not like funk and rock? The featured artists on this album is crazy. Jill Scott, ?uestlove, Erykah Badu, Pharrell, Cee-Lo Green, etc.
