I really like the modern look of this unit and it works well. I like the fact that it has a timer built in. Only thing negative I could say is that when the wind blows, the internal flapper to the exhaust is noisy.

Good vent at a reasonable cost worthy to buy never regret for buying it. Will recommend this product. needs additional cares for the stainless steel because of the grease being visible.

The instruction manual was OK, I am a pictures guys so just following those it was an easy install. It weighs a lot, so make sure you have a secure structure to attach it to. Don't hang it too high, hoods have a proper height for capturing the steam and vapors coming off of your cooking. The manual gives you an optimal range to use. The four fan speeds are great, on the two highest it will pull the curtains in where ever you have an open window... So remember to always have make up air for what you are taking out of the house. The damper works great to keep you from getting a back draft over the stove when turned off. Make sure this opens OK before you close it up and that it is not hooked on anything or it will not exhaust anything. I had to design my own outside vent as I came down in an overhang, but make sure there is no way for insects or birds to fly into your vent because that would be really disgusting ! Wiring was a snap, Use fibreglass duct wrap to wrap you steel vent line to keep the noise down. This thing is loud when on above 2, but hey it has to be if it is going to work. They should have a model with a remote fan. The filter cleans easy in a run through the dishwasher and it does get greasy, But your house does not because it draws the steam and grease that comes with it so well. This is a fantastic product that is very sturdy, durable, and actually does what it should unlike a lot of lesser vents that only move half the air.

I have yet to enjoy my new vent hood because 2 contractors (and I) are not able to completely understand the instructions for assembly and installation. The poor guy at the toll free number did not even have a manual to look at. Finally (after 45min) , a smart tech support guy was able to confirm that the next edition of the manual will contain better instructions along with parts diagrams. Unfortunately, I can not be given a preview of the better manual because it will not be approved for release for several months. So when the current manual says to attach the "horizontal support" to the hood I must guess at which part they mean. In the end, the manual was good at specifying the level of structural support needed. However, the unit is best assembled by the seat of ones pants.
