Disappointed. Based on the description, I was hoping it would eliminate the glare on my face during online meetings and webinars. I tried many different positions and many different settings, but I still had a big bright spot on my forehead and cheeks.

This is close to double the size of my cell phone and very light weight so it’s easy to put in my bag for traveling. I love that all the four controls are right on the front of the light. Installing it was quick and simple, I just snapped the cable reel in, then screwed in the monitor mount, then connected the cable. There are many options to using this light depending on where I am using it and the purpose. I can place it right on top of my monitor, it doesn’t obscure the view of the monitor while using it. Other times, I fold the monitor mount at the base of the light and place it flat on my desk or table.
There is an app where you can fine tune the controls and turn it on/off. I installed the app but I only used it the first time and haven’t used it since. Using it was fine but I find that I don’t really have a need the for it. The four controls on the front of the light gives me all the flexibility I need.
The lighting is great. I use it for videos, for streaming and for video calls. I love that there is no glare and my face shows up clear and bright. Depending on where the sun is shining, it was at times tricky finding the right spot and right lighting during meetings on Zoom, Teams, and videos. I was hopeful when I saw this and now I’m thrilled at how well this light works. Once I adjusted it during the meeting and it was flawless because the controls are right there and needs just a quick touch.

I work remotely so I spend a lot of time on video calls. For years, I’ve just been using a lamp shining on a wall to throw light on my face, so I thought I’d try a real light. So far, I really like it. I just have it plugged into a USB-A port on my docking station and clipped on the top of my monitor next to the camera. It couldn’t have been easier to get set up and start using it. Even though a printed manual isn’t included (there’s just a QR code) that didn’t really slow me down. I set it up and started adjusting and using it before I even read the Quick Start Guide.
Using the USB-A port for power, it has been plenty bright for me. The QSG says it’s about 400 lumens powered via USB-A, 700 lumens via USB-C, and 1000 lumens if you use an external 5v/3a power supply. But if it was any brighter, I think it would get annoying for calls that lasted very long. You can, of course, adjust the brightness up and down but those numbers represent the brightest it could be for a given power source.
You can also adjust the color temperature. I couldn’t find a chart of the kelvins for this light, but it does range from very orange to bluish white like most adjustable lights. For me, I just set it somewhere in the middle that seems most like natural light and leave it there.
I’ve been talking about the adjustments, and to be clear, I do all that with the buttons on the light itself. There are four: power, adjusting dial, and two preset buttons. The adjusting knob does both brightness and color. You simply press it in to toggle between modes. Once you have a setting you like and want to keep, then you just press and hold one of the preset buttons (I or II) to save that configuration. If someone else uses the computer, or you want day vs. night settings, then you can save a second preset. Then, just switch to those presets by hitting either button.
If you have an aversion to buttons, this light gives you two additional ways to control it. If it’s plugged into your computer via USB, then you can install their Control Center app to make all the same adjustments that way. But that’s not all! If you really want to go crazy, you can download the Control Center app on your phone, plug the light into a power supply source (not USB), then connect it to your Wifi network. From there, you can now control the light via your phone.
I haven’t traveled anywhere yet, but when I do I expect to take the light along. It’s small and light, so I could easily wrap it in a protective cloth and tuck it into my backpack. This has been a great addition to my remote work setup at home and I’m glad to have it.

Perfect lighting for streaming setup!

I absolutely love the versatility of this light and that it mounts just about anywhere and to anything. Currently, I have it set up with the mount it came with to sit on top of my monitor. Lighting is important to any streaming or video conferencing, and this light is perfect. It's simple, easy to use and ready to go, even without the app/software as you can control brightness and color temperature right on the light itself. It's super portable and can easily slip into your laptop bag if you need a light on the go or just want a good light setup at or around your workstation as there are different options to connect it to the app for control from the app. What I love about this light is that it's USB powered, and you can use the Elgato Stream Deck to control it (on/off, brightness, light temp, etc.) making for a seamless streaming setup. I have found that since using this light with my video streaming that the image looks far better than it does without and eliminates glare that some lights in my office cause from time to time. If you don't have good lighting or you are looking for a simple and easy lighting solution that just works this is definitely a solid choice. I'd recommend trying one if you don't have one and if you want just a simple light, look no further!

Easy to use and it gets the job done. A good light will make your look a lot better on camera and that is a fact. To make your video look even better. Get two of those, one on each side and you will be golden.

I was looking for a way to improve my video call experience, so I tried the Elgato Key Light Neo a try, and I'm sure glad I did.
This neat little device can sit on top of your monitor and provides a soft light to enhance your appearance on camera. It weighs practically nothing, but the lighting area is about 5 inches across. The lighting is variable in both brightness and color temperature - so it's easy to provide lighting that compliments the existing lighting in your room. I've tried other lighting sources in the past, and I find that the lighting is both harsh and more toward the cool side of the lighting temperature spectrum rather than the soft white I have all over my home.
Installation is easy. The device has a small clip that fits on the top of your monitor, which is very similar to how most webcams mount to your monitor. The mount provides an almost infinite combination of angles to project the light. Once mounted, a USB-C connector on the device provides power. The device includes a very nice quality braided USB-C to USB-A cable. I had to use a USB-A to USB-C adaptor to connect this to my Mac Studio as I'm out of USB-A ports, but the adaptor worked fine.
There are many options for controlling this device—manual controls on the front, an app you can run on your computer, and a mobile app. I found myself using the app on the Mac the most, as I find reaching up and touching the device sometimes inadvertently adjusts the position of my monitor. The app lets you adjust all the device functions, including color temperature, brightness, and preset settings.
One interesting feature is that the device can also be connected via Wi-Fi if you need to set it up a bit away from your computer, use it on a tripod, or don’t have an open USB port. This would also allow you to use the mobile app. It also allows you to pair multiple units together - so perhaps you may want to have three of them, one head on - and one on either side of the face to eliminate shadows. For a lighting device at this price range, it does pack some very well-thought-out features that I would not expect to find in this price range. Since owning the device, the control center app has been updated once, and a new firmware has been released for the device - which demonstrates that the vendor is so far committed to product improvement.
The seemingly small amount of light this thing puts out makes a difference on my Zoom calls. It reduces shadows on the face and drastically reduces ISO noise from the camera's sensor. If you want to up your Zoom call game, subtle enhancements to lighting like this make a world of difference.
I do wish it came with a long USB-C to USB-C cable, and I wish the control center app had a way to detect when the webcam was activated and automatically enable the lighting. Other than that, this unit delivers and will make your video content stand out in the crowd!
