Yes it’s a mic arm but there are differences. Some others the arm would sag when the mic is attached or the arm is too high or difficult to swing. Some were the same or cheaper than this arm. It was a no brainer just to get the elgato low profile arm. It’s smooth to move and fits nicely under my monitor and easy to move. The arm has a peg you put into the stand so you don’t have to move it as one every time. Just take it out and adjust the bracket and put the arm back in.

This stand cleaned up my desk step by allowing me to neatly tuck my mic away after use. My minor issues with the product include : 1) the amount of force needed to hold the mic upright instead of tipping over. 2) not enough minimum height clearance.
