I've had multiple, different skillets, but this one is by far the best. It's long enough for bacon and deep enough for soup or chili. There are hot spots, but they don't mess with your food. (I'm never had one that doesn't have hot spots, so not a deal killer for me.)

It replaces an older unit that is alot smaller and actually still works well. If this one holds up as well, it will be well worth it.

We expected the 1500 watts to trip the circuit relay open as the old one replaced always did, but no, it held steady. The metal skillet is THICK, maybe twice our old one. It seems to hold a more steady temperature because of that. The heat control has nice temperature numbers on it, in F, and the legs seem sturdy. I had to constantly tighten the screws at the bottom of the old skillet.
