This is the 1st egg cooker I've owned so I really cannot compare it to any others but I did read reviews of different ones before deciding to buy and picked this one because it shuts off automatically. So far I've used it to hard cook eggs a couple of times and it has worked very well. Two reasons I'm rating it 4 stars and not 5 are 1. the parts are not BPA free. I would not want to use their included plastic poaching cup because of that. 2. The machine has no alert tone when cooking is finished - only the light turns off so you have to be there watching it if you want to catch it at the optimum time to remove the eggs because even though it shuts off automatically, the heat does continue to be generated as the last little bits of water boil off. The metal egg pierce on the bottom of the plastic measuring cup works well and there is a cover for the cup bottom where it is located. You'll have to figure out the water amounts to use with the measuring cup lines as guidelines depending on the amount and size of the eggs you are using.

I used it and my eggs came out great, I wanted something like this so I can get perfectly cooked eggs with out the runny part and this item delivers.

Ease of use and simple to maitain - worth it's price

This product does exactly what it says. And it does it well!

the eggs get over cooked when power is plugged in, even after auto switch off. And leaves stain on the bottom coating.

I gave this item is as a gift and she has not used it yet.
