Great movie that flew under the radar for a lot of people. Had to buy it

Such an awesome movie it's about time it got a proper blu ray release.

I really liked this movie when it hit theatres back in 2013, and bought the blu-ray as soon as it was available. This 4k version is a great step up from the blu-ray..especially in picture quality. The use of HDR really opens up the darker scenes, and the color palette is very clean and lifelike. The blu-ray sports a great 7.1 audio mix, and this 4k transfer has been issued with a new Dolby Atmos mix. The difference between audio mixes isn't as striking as the video differences..but the Atmos mix is a nice upgrade. In all,, if you like the movie, and wonder if you should upgrade..the answer is "definitely". Fans of the movie will be very pleased with what Sony has done here.

I wanted this movie for my collection I thought it had an adequate message and story line and was well produced...I felt somethings might have been done better to create more emotional impact but overall for a SiFi movie not bad...also I wanted it because a lot of people have not seen it and I felt it would be entertaining for some friend or relative visiting that might have some time on their hands or needed some entertainment while they wait....A better movie with a similar theme might be Snow Piercer if your looking for something but this movie is worth seeing and the message is definitely food for thought....

Disturbing movie about what the future could look like.

The visuals deliver the goods, just amazing, with a tip of the hat to the gritty look and feel of District 9. Also, and this is key, the fight and action scenes are intense and immersive. You feel like you are in them as you watch. The plot is the classic Hollywood story split. Part of the story takes place on Elysium , a highly secure, space habitat for the rich and wealthy. The other part of the story takes place on a wild and hairy 2154 Earth A.D. These stories evolve on their own and then merge to get the sparks flying. The acting is solid as you would expect. Everyone gives pretty tight performances that help make the movie that much more entertaining. In all, good sci-fi entertainment, that does what good sci-fi does: use the future to make you think about the present. It's a solid follow-up to District 9 for this director. I look forward to more.

Good movie for Action fans. It’s a good one time watch.

Good all around picture and story with lots of action.

This movie gets 10 stars from me because it was the total package! I don't even know where to start. Jodi Foster was born to play that role. She did it so convincingly and perfectly that though she played the bad guy I was rooting for her. Kudos to Matt Damon. I respect more as an actor more and more with every movie choice he makes. The movie was awesome. I don't like futuristic scientific movies because they tend to be on the silly side with the costumes and décor, but Elysium did not have that problem. It was futuristic but tasteful. The fight scenes were a bit shaky but also tasteful. This movie was filled with suspense and humor and emotion. The guy who played agent Kruger was superb. This guy definitely has talent and range(I was a fan of him in District 9). The director of this movie has found a fan for life. I will follow him like a cult and run to watch all of his films. Can't wait till he releases another.
