I was not sure what to pick up and there was a great buy 1 get 1/2 off for 1 deal and I had one movie I really wanted but not sure about a second. There was a sales person who said Elysium was a good movie so I thought I would take a chance. As my summary states it was surprisingly a good movie started out a little confusing but quickly made sense with an ending I did not anticipate. Good effects and good acting!

Elysium is a good movie I enjoyed watching. Its rated R for violence, but then again it is action packed. I like futuristic movies and it does have two great actors in Matt Damon & Jodie Foster. It runs about 110 minutes and the DVD contains a few special features. Purchase does include a digital version to download on your other devices.

Matt Damon stars in this sci-fi action movie that takes place on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Elysium is a man-made space station where the super rich live and Matt Damon must try to make it there to save someone. Overall I thought it was a very well made and entertaining movie, a must have for any sci-fi fan. This movie comes with a HD Digital Copy that can be redeemed and streamed online through various apps.

Good movie but could have had a bit more depth based on the fact that Matt Damon stars.

The special effects were awesome, and the futuristic premise is not too far gone from the progressive development of current technology. However, Jodie Foster brought nothing to this film. I would rather see an unknown actress with passion for her role than one who is obviously resting on the laurels of her past accomplishments.

Gets radiated, saves the sick, then dies! Another words, a drama sci-fi.

Overall a pretty good film from the director of District 9 and Chappie

The picture quality of this blu Ray as it is enhanced for 4k was decent. The clarity and color rendition was significantly better with 4K devices than standard 1080p. The most impressive acting in this movie is of Jodie Foster and her professional style. The story line was decent and lots of action. Overall, the blu Ray was good and worth to save in a movie library.

entertaining, the kind of movie that you see once every 5 years. :)

Earth is a slum planet,Rich people live in space.Closed borders[Earth] and folks trying to immigrate to the space station to get good health care.It is a decent movie with Matt Damon being the hero and Jodi Foster the Bad Gal/Guy.Jodi also spews out a wierd accent when she talks[I didnt care for that accent].Watch it,you will like it.

Even though it didn't live up to District 9 there are still more than a few elements of this movie that make it great. The gritty styling, the amazing effects, the weapons and vehicles (don't forget the GT-R) are all better than most any other sci-fi flick these days. Give it a second look and see if you don't appreciate it any more.

The movie was full of great action sequences. Matt Damon was believable in the part but I think the role that Jodie Foster had was wasted on her talents. Anyone could have played her role. The ending was somewhat predictable, no surprise here. The Blu-ray disc was the only one I watched and had no hiccups, and the picture as always was fantastic.

This movie ages very well both in terms of the special effects and overall plot + 2020 in terms of elitism vs have nots etc. the ending has always been to quaint and dreamy but I was more forgiving this time. Overall the 4K picture and sound are amazing. If you saw it once or twice years ago do yourself a favor and get this one for your 4K collection.

Decent movie with basic plot and passable action sequence

Neil Blomkamp is one of the best sci fi directors we get in today's industry. At times his film can lack depth (as this does) but it has so much eye candy and incredible visual effects or stunts you can still enjoy it. A LOT of his remains from HALO pre-production was used for this. Which is awesome and also OBVIOUS!

Armed with a bigger budget, Neill Blomkamp delivers another slice of class-struggle science fiction set in a dystopic future. Not ironically, it seems the budget boost has tampered slightly with the purity of vision shown in his previous film, DISTRICT 9. Despite this, ELYSIUM is much more unique than typical Hollywood sci-fi.

Visually a stunning movie with very impressive atmos sound mix. Definitely very good sub woofer mix. Only disappointment is movies plot could have been better with better pacing. 6.5/10

Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.

The story is rich versus poor saga that shows that there is still hope for the "little" man. I enjoyed the visual effects and the performance by Jodie Foster. I like all of the performances by Matt Damon so this was a good movie for me.

I like the plot of this sci-fi, and it was very interesting how they made Matt Damon's character a regular guy with no special abilities at all -- the whole time I kept thinking he will gain some kind of "superness" but he doesn't, which is probably what made this movie so good. All he had was a heart of gold!
