A great movie about the futuristic post world of elites vs. the rest of us. The world is over populated and one guy is desperate to survive the poverty and attempts to reach the heavens to save himself and others.

I had this on normal Blu-Ray and wasn't sure if I wanted the 4K version at first, but eventually decided to upgrade. Despite it's mixed reviews and opinions, I really enjoy this movie, and the 4K looks fantastic. Definitely pick this one up if you like sci-fi action and are looking for a good 4K picture.

This second film, from the guy who directed 'District 9" . Is pretty good and worth a watch. Matt Damon is as fun as ever. Though there are loop holes in the story that seemed to go untouched by the end. A grim future for man kind to say the least. But it's an adventure story for the next generation.

The factors driving the main conflict are something most moviegoers have seen repeatedly, but it feels more relevant than ever given the growing wealth inequality in America.

The movie is good. Lots of killing and destruction. Nice to see the level of violence in movies continues to increase. Disappointed with the digital copy only being available on Flixster/VUDU. These platforms are not very good and I prefer to get my digital movie copies for iTunes instead.

A man born in a poor working-class region basically inserts himself into a class war in an attempt to save the life of everyone on Earth. It's an interesting sci-fi film, and definitely worth a watch.

Neill Blomkamps second directorial effort is not as incredible or socially relevant as District 9 but it is still a strong follow up. The divides in classes is heightened but a little obvious. That doesn't stop Matt Damon from kicking a** in spectacular sci-fi fashion

A tale of a future where the rich live off world and enjoy the good life. That is until Matt Damon needs to get up to elysium. And all hell breaks loose.

Elysium bring an amazing cast together with a story that works within the bounds of the film but I'll admit you've probably seen this movie before, but I think the acting makes this film worth watching.

This is not your typical Si-Fi genre which usually relies on massive CGI and fast paced action; Of course there is plenty of that but this plot challenges your intellect as well which is rare in most Si-Fi. Without giving too much of the plot away, suffice it to say that the spin on time travel and related phenomenon will keep you guessing. Grab a drink and pop the popcorn and get ready for a cinematic treat.

Ok. As for the DVD itself, it was flawless. No defects. Now as for the content. It was pretty decent. I'd definitely watch it again a few times over. I just wished they spent a little more time trying g to make me dislike the more privileged citizens of the society.

Elysium stars more well-known stars than Neill Blomkamp's previous film District 9. Like District 9 dealt with apartheid, Elysium challenges health care and government. Don't listen to other reviews because unfortunately this film suffers comparisons to District 9.

"Elysium" is set in a dystopian future. It's man on earth against man-made space station. The film is spectacularly filled with amazing visual and special effects, and is contained by a very cool production design and set. And, the acting is not bad also. Matt Damon and Jodie Foster go at it in this science fiction thriller. It's a great movie to add to your science film collection.

SUPERB. truly a sci fi gem , the allegory for the wealthy and the poor is done in such a unique way that it doesn't feel forced. The film looks beautiful and Neil makes it look expensive with the effects and worldbuilding, matt damon kicks butt and the action is superb.

Great fun movie. Not going to be a highly critically acclaimed film and win awards but a fun movie nonetheless. The 4K presentation is great as well.

This movie is based on a Greek mythology. I never read the stodgy but my g/f is really fond of it, I decided to pick this to see iffy was a story worth reading. The picture quality was great and moving the story into the future was really neat I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Decent enough movie. Sadly, if you have seen most of the other recent sci-fi/action movies then you have seen this one. Similar to District 9, Battlefield Los Angeles, Oblivion, etc. Bigger named actors doesn't always mean better movies. Overall entertaining though.

This movie puts it into perspective how the super rich won't help the less fortunate and only think about themselves. This is a good story how in the end someone with nothing is still able to help others while sacrificing it all in the process.

This is a far better movie than most people gave it credit for. A strong commentary on immigration, health care and the huge divide between the haves and have-nots of our world. Jodi Foster and Matt Damon deliver solid if unspectacular performances.

pretty much a fast paced movie and never lets up. definitely not a boring movie and can be used to illustrate the potential future of modern society in its portrayal of the main characters.
