PIECE OF S@#%!!!!!! I received today (12/27), after it was guaranteed Fri 12/23. I opened it to start charging. It never turns on. I try reseting, everything. It DIDN'T even come with an installation CD!! FINALLY, a screen comes on and STILL does nothing!!! ALSO, it has scratches on back and the top part of screen frame has been scratched off. IT WAS IN THE PACKAGING for goodness sake. I never saw refurbished on the initial purchase. You TRULY get what you pay for. TAKING BACK FIRST THING IN THE MORNING!!!!!

This was purchased as a Christmas gift. We received the player via UPS and opened it on Christmas day and it won't even operate. We followed all the troubleshooting steps, tried different computers...the works...the player doesn't respond. Complete waste of money and will be returned once the store is opened. Very disappointed :-(

Bought this for my 10 year old son for Christmas. We plugged it into the computer and it charged right up. The computer (Windows 7) recognized it instantly as well. Transferring music is simple, using the built in tools for Windows Media Player as will all other MP3 players. The unit does not, however, easily read high def movies. Standard def MP4 and and avi files play just fine though. The touch screen leaves something to be desired. It does not always recognize inputs with your finger. You pretty much always need to use the stylus or put more pressure than you think in order for it to read. The menus are not very intuitive either, but they work and get the job done and can be learned easily. The ability to expand using microSD cards is fabulous as well.
