Better than I could every had believed. It keep my coffee hot and never for over an hour. The mug is not too heavy and feels premium. Easy to use app on iPhone. Could not be more impressed- great mug.

It’s amazing if you don’t take it far from the base and you can put it down on the base when it is not in your hand. If the above is not what you want from it, you could safely return to browsing normal Best Buy things. If you feel okay about the first sentence, then you will LOVE this thing! Perfect temp coffee is really a big change in how I drink it! With other cups, I would either down it when it got to the perfect temp, miss that temp time and have to warm it up somehow, or skald my mouth trying to drink it too early. This thing alerts my phone to let me know when my coffee is ready to drink and keeps it that way when it gets there. I actually had to train myself not to down the cup because I was so used to doing that when my temp was right. It took a while, but I finally just sip it over a good amount of time. Notes: It pairs best with a one-cup brew system. It does burn coffee slowly similar to a carafe. I suggest not to let it have the same coffee more than 3 hours. Last sips can actually be too hot at the bottom, but it sort of makes sense. Heated from the bottom. You don’t have to set the temp every time as some people have suggested. When you do want it set to a different temp, you have to use an app. My Apple Watch app actually can set the temp too! It doesn’t do well taking it out in cold weather. Not even for a little while. Don’t bank on the battery lasting more than 45 mins. Don’t microwave it, lol! This cup will spoil you badly! Only consider it if you’re prepared to never want your coffee any other way ever again!

Now, I don't drink coffee but I imagine we tea drinkers have the same problem. When we steep our tea, we begin the wait for the beverage to cool down so we can drink it without scalding our mouth. Once the liquid reaches the right temperature, we begin do sip and enjoy. About 10 minutes later, the tea has cooled and so has our enjoyment. Another 10 minutes and it has cooled to the point where we pretty much stop drinking and pour the remaining tea in the sink. That has all changed with the Ember mug. When I begin to steep the tea in the mug, I bring up the app on my phone and I can see the current temperature. I won't burn my mouth testing because I know how hot it is. Personally, my preference is a temp of 145. That's my sweet spot. When I see that it has reached that temperature I can drink it at a leisurely pace. I just finished off a cup of tea that I began drinking over an hour ago. The entire time, it was there at 145 degrees and tasted great. Now, the brutal truth: This is an expensive mug. I was fortunate to get it on a daily deal at half price. I will also admit that the app can be problematic. It has improved, but I've had to re-pair the mug twice. However, the last time was yesterday and this was after my phone updated to a new Android version. I also tried to update the firmware and the mug kept dropping the connection. But I'll try again later and do some troubleshooting if needed. I will say that if you are looking at buying a mug, get the new Mug2 since it will be the same price and the battery will last longer.

I originally got the double pack of this mug for my mother and myself; before I even got mine open, my mother called and said she wanted something else because this was far too difficult for her to try and understand. Ok, no problem. I returned the two pack and got this single cup for myself. I waited over a week for my cup to arrive and it was sadly not worth the wait. It was nice looking, but the matte-like material really collects any dirt/oil on your skin though washes fairly easily off. I charged the cup to full power, downloaded the app, got everything setup and it worked great. For maybe an hour. As a mom, I often get to enjoy cold coffee, so I was really hoping this would help to solve the problem and keep my coffee warm even when I had to set it down somewhere to come back to later. I gave it one more chance, recharged it again (this time overnight to be sure) and the indicator light said it was charged, poured in my drink and turned on the app to set the temp. I noted the time and then I watched and waited. It took roughly 20 minutes for the cup/app to say it was up to the desired 132 degrees and when the battery level on the app showed to be at 5% perhaps maybe an hour and a half at most had gone by, including the heat up time. This was time when the cup was not connected to the charge station. I got this cup hoping I wouldn't be limited to where I could set the cup down, nor be required to keep it on the base at all times when not drinking it in order to maintain the battery life. Additionally, the power rings on the bottom of the cup, when you was the cup, you have to pat at the cup a bit to get any water that got in between the rings and cup out because it specifically says to dry thoroughly and not have any water on it. Again, great idea, poor execution. Needs more time with R&D I think.

I got this on a Deal of the Day for $65. Although still expensive for a mug, it does maintain the beverage temperature well. It's nice to be able to extend the time window of a perfect drinking temperature for tea and coffee. I use this everyday. One downside is that I can not microwave the beverage in the mug to get it up to a target temperature quickly, nor can I put the mug in the dishwasher without risk of damaging the mug.

Bought this as a gift for my wife. She absolutely loves it. It amazingly holds temperature which allows my wife to sip her tea for much longer. We are getting just shy of 2 hours on a charge. It would be great if it could go a little longer, but I understand that generating that level of temperature to keep a beverage hot requires some significant battery draw. We would definitely buy another one!

This is my second Ember mug and it is even better now with the larger 14 oz capacity and the black coloring to minimize apparent coffee stains. I purchased from Best Buy during the Christmas season and it happened to be nearly half off of the regular price. I was concerned that it was too good to be true...refurbished? returned item? No! just an amazing deal. Very happy.

I've had this product for a few days now and I absolutely love it! I work from home and being able to keep my coffee warm next to me all morning has been awesome. The app works great to control the temperature of the mug. It's easy to wash and charge as well.

I love this mug. It is perfect for my Keurig and holds 12 oz of coffee plus cream and sugar. This seems to keep the coffee hot longer than the smaller one even if I don’t have it sitting on the (plugged in) charger.

I really like this when it works but the app sometimes disconnects. They must have had problems because they have instructions for fixing the problem. It works some of the time. Also, the battery does not last as long as I would like , but to solve this when using, use the charging saucer as your saucer and it will stay charged . I always wanted one of these since they came out but could not justify the price until they went on sale. I still would recommend this product but be aware you may need to tinker with connecting.

Been using this since June 2019, so far have had no issues. The battery lasts just as long as they claim it does, if not longer depending on the temp you select. I'm glad I got the 14oz one because it has enough room to hold what most people consider a cup of coffee without being so full that you almost spill it with every step when walking. Have not seen any signs of chipping that other reviews have mentioned, I drink either tea or black coffee, so I'm not stirring anything in the mug. My only annoyance is that occasionally when I hold the power button to turn it off the light will fade to off and then mug turns back on.

I love my new ember mug. I also own the first generation 10oz mug and travel mug, but the 14oz mug has become my favorite and is a must have for the office.

Really enjoying being able to set my coffee temperature on my own. Love the new larger size mug.

I like that it keeps my coffee at the desired temperature. My only gripe is that I have to open the app every time. If they had Siri integration or an Apple Watch widget maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. It is two extra steps in the morning that I wouldn’t have to do otherwise. Minor complaint.

I gave it four stars because sometimes, the mug does not recognize the coffee and it shows “empty” on my mobile phone, thus, it cools my coffee. I do not know why sometimes, it can’t recognize the coffee content? I even reset the app and the coffee mug and still show empty. Otherwise, if the product does not “act like that”, it really is a great mug and a great size. Although too much for the price.

Great Coffee Cup for Colder Morning Starts. Did not find battery life to be as claimed but is somewhat acceptable at 45 minutes. Additionally, no disclaimer for the fact that the temp measurement is from the outer perimeter not from the Center area that is where the fluid flows nor that battery will engage (out of auto/shut-off) as long as the mug senses Any fluid-even if that from dishwashing.

Fantastic... that is the word that describes it... during the day and my meeting, I get interrupted a lots, the best part is that my coffee is always at the right temperature..... I use it a daily. The only problem is that outside the holder, it can only run for 1.5 hours. I keep refilling it, between coffee and tee, I only wish it can last longer

I drink a lot of tea, but I don’t always drink my cups quickly. This has helped me not have cold tea! I bought the first one at the store (10 oz) and less then a week later I bought the 14 oz from the website. With the coaster, the drink stays at the temp you set. It lasts about 45 mins off of the coaster. I leave the coaster on my desk and it’s perfect.

I love this mug! I am always heating my coffee up a million times in the morning. This mug does just what it says it does. It keeps my coffee piping hot. The only thing I would change is that it would stay hot a little longer. I've never actually timed it, but I'd say it is a least an hour.
