It works great in its boiling function but water gets a chemical taste like plastic/chlorine. First thought it should be for the couple of first uses but after around eight times of boiling the taste was still there! Maybe become less and less after some time but I just surrendered and returned it. This is what I found on the internet around this as the possible cause: "The chlorine in tap water reacts with phenol-based compounds sometimes found in plastic and rubber parts of the kettle, ...There aren't any health risks associated with this, but it does result in a bad TCP-like smell and taste."

I like my old electric kettle better for the quick start and for the larger opening to fill it, but this one has the visibility so I can see how much water is in there. It starts up a little slower, not a big deal.

I have this pot for my new offcie to have hot water to make hot chocolate this winter. I have not used it yet which is why I picked good.

Good quality electric glass kettle, looks great and works well for a small family! Like to see that water boiling inside.

I brought this kettle to use it temporarily, first of all I couldn’t pick this order same day as it wasn’t available for pickup until 9th June ! I picked this up and wanted to use this for boiling water every day morning and the kettle emitted some weird chemical smell to the boiled water and its consistent for next one week. I wanted to return however to due to delayed pickup from Best Buy side I exceeded the 15 days return and my money is wasted ! Plz don’t buy this product .
