Seems to work fine. Covers the 36" cooktop. But initially had a problem due to the wifi signal being blocked and the unit woukd beep when covered. Once we "locked" the cooktop, that issue went away. This fact may need to be in instructions as a possible issue because we were getting ready to ask for a refund
