For starters i'm not a huge Megadeth fan, so i'm not all hyped up for whatever they release. This "Endgame" is my 2nd fav Megadeth release overall (Countdown to Extinction being 1st). I heard the first 2 songs just in passing and was hooked on this cd. (i am usually wary of *new* albums by *old* metal bands) ENDGAME is just amazing from start to finish. It fits well with the old Megadeth style and the new "end of the world/new world order/mark of the beast" Megadeth.

The 2008 "Endgame" is still the same-sounding Megadeth, even after over 30 years of being together as a band. If I were you, I'd pay $4 for a Megadeth CD.

No one does speed/thrash metal like Megadeth!

The solos, especially when they harmonize during the solos, are ridiculous (good thing). I have been a diehard since I was 10, I'm now 29 and this album is incredible. Metallica may have more radio friendly songs over the years but I think my wife said it best, "They are incredible musicians". My wife hates them but she still knows good music when she hears it. Dave has to be the father of rhythm. This album, has them returning to thrash/speed metal at it's finest and frankly no one does it better when Megadeth is on their game. They are back on their game. This is their best album since Rust in Peace (1990). It has the melodic tendencies found in Cryptic Writings, the thrash and speed from RIP, and the best solos since So far, So good...so what. I have listened to it 8 or 9 times now from myspace and I find myself returning once a day to relish in this masterpiece which it is.

After a few listens I can honestly say it is already my 3rd favorite Megadeth album. If you are a Megadeth Fan on ANY level you will like this. Like Thrash? You got 2-3 Solid Tracks of it, Like The 90's Era? Oh there is plenty. And even the slow tempo song is made memorable by the fact the message is touching and the music to support it, a real winner if you go into the track wanting to just enjoy music. Tracks that stand out for me: 44 Minutes, Bite The Hand, Endgame, Headcrusher, The Hardest Part of Letting Go... Sealed With A Kiss, How the Story Ends, The Right to Go Insane. Endgame, the song, sounds like it will open their shows. Basically the whole album is great and an easy to listen through.

Megadeth has delivered another gem of an album. The songs feature that distinct "Dave Mustaine" mid-ranged guitar sound (as opposed to the trendy "scooped" sound). New guitarist, Chris Broderick, is a welcome addition to the band. His solos are blazing fast and executed with precision. The interplay between Broderick's and Mustaine's guitar solos is nothing short of stunning. Bass player (James LoMenzo) and drummer (Shawn Drover) provide a thunderous rhythm section to the intricate guitar riffs spit out by the guitars. Vocal wise, Dave Mustaine is as venomous as ever...and that's a good thing.

This is the album droogies have been waiting for since Countdown. I think this album is one of the best Megadeth have ever recorded. It is the first album since Countdown to Extinction that I can put on a listen to all the way through without skipping over a song. Dave Mustaine you truly are a legend in the metal world. Chris shreds on this album and Shawn's drums are heavier than ever.
