My experience has found that the Energizer brand of alkaline batteries seems to outlast the Duracell version. While I haven't had these long enough to check this, I suspect that they will last longer. Time will tell.

They have a higher energy density and longer shelf life compared to older zinc-carbon batteries and are the most common household battery. It seems like I end up buying batteries to use my expiring rewards. Would be great if they didn't expire.
