The ink is great, but over priced. It does not last very long. I wish there was a generic, but Epson warns against this.

The cartridge works fine and prints clearly. The yield on this cartridge is 530 pages (2 reams) whereas the yield on the "standard" is 250 pages (1 ream). For twice the price you get twice the yield, so it's not a bargain. I'd rather buy the standard because the risk is lower> If the cartridge fails for some reason or dries out from disuse you are out less money. Epson should have priced the XL lower to make it worthwhile to buy it.

Small cartridges with ink that dries up quickly and is outrageously overpriced. Printer monopolistically rejects substitution of cheaper cartrdiges. All cartridges are required for printer to work, and bypassing color ones to print in black alone is a limited option.
