Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the EcoTank ET-4850's print quality, ease of use, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its compact size. While some users find the noise level a bit high and have experienced challenges with the document feeder and scanning functions, the positive feedback on printing and ease of use outweighs these concerns for most. A few customers also mentioned the printer's price point as a potential drawback.

The Epson ET-4850 is great! Easy to set up. Prints perfectly. Connected to my computer with ease. Good for home or business. Printed at least two hundred pages and I do not have stress of using to much ink, plenty of ink to print thousand of pages. Easy to put ink into the printer.

Good economy printer, but too light printing.

Great economy printer. The upfront cost was a bit high, but the ink refill are very cheap. I'd recommend this for high usage color or even black and white printing. Big problem is that the prints aren't crisp and bold. They're faded and light. We compared it to the Brother printer we had previously and it's night and day. But the Brother's ink cartriges were 3 times the cost than the ink for this Epson. So if you want economy, the Epson EcoTank is for you. But if you need crisp, dark prints, I wouldn't recommend the Epson. Hope this helps you making your choice.

The Epson ET-4850 seems to be a great printer and uses ink sparingly! Print quality is very good as well! Set-up required a little extra help from the tech team but all-in-all went smoothly!

Have never tried Epson before and was very happy with results. Quiet and able to get lots of copies made with minimal ink usage is a plus! Still getting used to the front touch screen. I'd drop a star because it's small, but it's easy to navigate so far, so the star remains. The print quality is perfect for photographs.

It's an exceptionally good printer. The prints are nice, the colors are great and the best part of it all, the ink is less expensive. You pay upfront for a quality printer that saves you on ink cost. Best of all I got it on sale and I was able to trade my old Epson in.

Beautiful crisp clean color prints with edge to edge format. The print rivals laser and beats inkjet by miles. Big advantage: no tedious, leaky and expensive cartridges. This one has wireless printing AND wired options (for work from home corporate security accommodations. It’s not quite as fast as laser but better priced.

Arrived well-packed and secure. Easy to set-up and connect to computer. Print is clear and sharp, colors vivid. Scans clear and sharp. My only complaint is that it is a bit noisy when printing. EcoTank should help lower overall printing costs as I was going thru a set of cartridges every 3 months on my old printer.

Print quality is not as good as my other printer, but I like the size and the fact I do not need to deal with cartridges. Easy to set up and I like the size. Doesn't take up as much room as my other printer.

The paper tray holds very little paper. The printer is slightly slower than most but the quality is excellent. Overall, the printer for this price and the cost of the ink is a great purchase for us. I would not recommend for a high use scenario as the reloading of paper would become annoying. However, for occasional use it works fantastic.

    Great when it works, but...

Beware if you print infrequently like I do. My first print (per the print head check sheet) was 5/2023, so the printer is about 18mo old. I have printed a total of 958 pages in that 18mo period. I print about once every 2 weeks, and EVERY TIME I go to print there are gaps in the printing. I need to run the Print Head Maintenance multiple times (like 4-5 times every time I want to print) and even then I sometimes need to do a power clean before it will print. When it works, it works well, but to print a single page document and have it come out nice, it might take 20min of running the print head maintenance and take 7 sheets of paper (first sheet to see the document printed incorrectly, then 5 more sheets for print head maintenance, then finally the sheet with what you want in the first place). If it doesn't clean on the regular print head maintenance, the recommendation is to "wait 12 hours then run a Power Cleaning". Who the heck has time to wait 12 hours to print something??? I figure of the 959 sheets I've printed, the breakdown is something like this: 200 sheets are garbage - they were the sheets I wanted to print but came out bad so I needed to do cleaning. 600 sheets are print head maintenance. 9 are power cleaning sheets. 150 are the good documents I wanted. The bottom line is that this eco tank actually costs significantly more to operate than a traditional cartridge printer when you consider the WASTE of INK, PAPER and TIME having to clean the print heads before being able to get a decent print. Why 150 when I attempted 200? Because I gave up and used a different printer because I didn't have 12 hours to wait to run a power cleaning. For this review I just ran Print head maintenance #5 for today (bringing my total print count to 959). As you can see in the images, my ink levels are good but even after 5 cycles there are still problems with the black and cyan print heads. I could probably clear them by running Maintenace another 2 or 3 times, and maybe a power cleaning. Again, if I used the printer every day it probably would work much better, but I don't. I would not recommend to infrequent printers. For the record, this is my first Epson printer in decades; I had been a very long time HP user but abandoned them over their subscription only ink cartridges. HP might have had issues with their way they bring ink to market, but at least I could get a decent print on the first pass without wasting time, ink and paper.

The Eco Tank ET-4850 All-in-One Inkjet Printer is super easy to install and is user friendly. All of the functions have worked smoothly and efficiently since I installed it last month. It operates quietly and reliably, though printing is a little slow. I've had many HP printers over the years and decided to try an Epson when my HP 8600 abruptly stopped working. I really like the Eco Tank concept rather than having to purchase expensive individual ink cartridges. I highly recommend this Epson All-in-One!

I only usually purchase HP printers but have noticed over the years, I spend A LOT of money on ink. Shaq's commercials that advertise the ease of use of ink, and the cost efficiency definitely persuaded me to make this printer purchase. I've had this printer since 01/25/24, I print every day for my job; I have saved at least $65 so far, it's been a little over a month. I have not yet had to refill any of the ink tanks and they are still 3/4 full. Filling the tanks is easy, no mess. Setting the printer up wirelessly was a breeze. I can literally print from my phone. Speed of print is also awesome. For all functions included, price is great. It's the best printer I've ever purchased. Will never stray from Epson.

Best decision I made was swapping to this Epson. I had Epson's in the past and hesitant to buy but I have had for a while not and the quality of print, ease to print and the INK last over double from any cartridge printer I had in past years. I will stay with this type of printer. Easy to refill ink as well.

The printer was easy to set up and link to the Windows PC and Samsung mobile phone. The quality of the output is quite good and the hope is that the operating expenses are much less because of the EcoTank ink technologies. The build quality seems good.
