WOW! This epson printer is the fastes priner i have ever seen. It actuall prints 25 pages B&W per minute. It takes a to. Of ink and you can use bottles ink (use you own discretion on aftermarker and research a little) not those overpriced cartridges that cost $100 per cgange. The qualitt is extremely good considering speed and you can adjust quality to save ink. It will print thick stock and has a pullout in back for “other” non standard sizes and envelopes. It is expensive i will not say it’s cheap but my last printer worked for 10 years on aftermarket refilks and when it finally quit i figured i would spend the money snd get the best i could afford. It is siper easy to set up and get running. Oh one thing to consuder is it is not huge bit its bigger than an average priner and taller.

So far so good haven’t really had much of a problem with it yet. Print quality hasn’t failed me yet, it’s clear, no connectivity issues, copy and printing speed is really fast compared to previous printers I’ve had. It is pretty big for my liking but all in all great for office uses and has all the features I want and need it for, I would recommend if you’re thinking about this printer, I wouldn’t look further.

Love this printer! I’ve had a lot of printers over the years. Mostly inexpensive ones and they did ok but were painfully slow at times - especially making copies. The last straw was copying a contract for a client -
Only four pages but took forever. So I bit the bullet and decided to spend a little more for the features this one has. Wow! It spits out documents like a fire-breathing dragon! And the large ink tanks last a long time. A wonderful, fast printer and copier.

The Epson ET-5850 is a super awesome printer! It's really good at making prints that look just like my artwork. The colors are bright and the details are clear. I use it for my midjourney artwork, which is when I'm in the middle of my artistic journey and making cool stuff. The printer can handle different kinds of paper and it has a tray that can change sizes, so I can print on different things. It's also easy to connect to my r phone, so I can print from anywhere. I use a lot of ink for my art, so this is perfect

The Epson-EcoTank Pro ET-5850 is the perfect printer for my everyday needs as a teacher and private tutor. It makes great single and double-sided copies, whether on printer paper or cardstock. I love the economy of the liquid ink versus the high cost of cartridges! I make a considerable number of copies. This printer provides everything I need and more and pays for itself compared to cartridge printers I have used in the past!

This is a quality Epson all in one printer with several PROs and a few CONs; PROs: easy setup, fast printing, auto output tray (automatically extends when printing), easy to use touch control panel, produces high quality color prints and photos, does not use ink cartridges, has a large capacity ink tank that holds up to 2 years worth of ink (ink comes with the printer) / CONS; difficulty setting up wireless connection, wireless connection sometimes fails to automatically connect when turning printer on (have to constantly manually reconnect wireless function), printer model seems to only come in a white (no black model available) . Hopefully there’s a fix for the wireless connection problems, but overall this is a quality printer that I recommend.

Worst printer in the history of two tray printers. It cuts pages off, does not switch between the pages for legal and letter. No way to fix it, I am going to upgrade to the 5880 what does what I need it to do. This printer does print color very fast, but that is about the only thing going for it. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

I'm really impressed with Epson-EcoTank Printer! It's the best printer that I have ever used. I love the speed, print quality and ease of use.
The set-up was very simple and fast. The included instructions walked me through each step perfectly. I have never used a refillable ink printer and really like how simple the compartments were to fill. There was no mess and the bottles stop filling when the tank has reached the max amount. I think the longest part of the whole process of setting the printer was waiting for the ink to charge. It was great. They also give you two bottles of each color ink to fully fill up each reservoir with some spare ink left over for future use. I like how you can see the amount of ink that is left from the outside of the printer and how the number used for ordering is located right by where you fill the ink for easy reordering.
Printing is fast and easy. I downloaded the Epson iPrint on my phone and have printed out several items and I have had no issues. I appreciate the simplicity of being able to print directly from my phone. My previous wireless printer would sometimes give me problems. I would have to take the extra time to print from my desktop. My children have also printed several items from their Chromebook for school and they love how easy it is. They also love how the tray slides out automatically when the printer starts printing. I like the two-sided printing. It creates less waste and is more efficient. I'm happy how quickly items print. It's very fast even on color detailed pictures. The print quality is amazing. I am definitely going to be printing out my pictures from home from now on.
I really like the 4.3" touchscreen. It's very responsive to touch and there several settings and maintenance options that can be accessed from the screen. You can also see the Job status including completed tasks with time and dates. There are a ton of options and things that can be done just from the printer touchscreen.
I think what I'm most excited about is the refillable ink! It's so annoying when one color from a cartridge is out and the whole set needs to be replaced. It gets very expensive over time and it seems very wasteful. The bottles to fill the tanks for this printer are very reasonably priced and last a long time. “This is a review for the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

The Epson ET-5850 is a beast!

Gone are the days when setting up a printer was a chore…unbox this printer follow the 1 sheet setup guide and go. I think it took between 5-10 minutes to be up and printing. It found my network and all of my devices were able to find the printer and start using it. A nice change over older eco-tank printers are these refill bottles are designed to only fit in the correct color, eliminating mistakes and any spillage. The display touch screen is large, bright and responsive.
It comes with 2 complete sets of ink…which says it is enough for 7500 B&W prints! The printer itself holds over 500 sheets of paper as well as having a rear feed and scanner feed. The tray where final prints comes out is also mechanical…It comes out automatically with a print job….while not necessary is a nice feature. Also this printer is fast! No warm up time and finished prints are out and dry very quickly. You should know this is a BIG printer! Make sure you have a place in your home or office for it.

Great All-In-One

The Epson ET-5850 is a great All-in-one printer. It is on the big side and is pretty heavy so I would have someone who can lift and help take it out of the box put it where you would like it to go. After you take it out of the box you can start setting it up by taking off the blue tape that comes on it. The blue tape has little tabs on the ends for easy pull-off. After that you put the ink in. I found this to be very fun and relaxing. This is the first printer that I ever got that has a different type of ink. They come in bottles instead of those ink cartridges that to me are pretty hard to use but these make it very easy. The printer came with the two sets of ink. You will use the first ones when you prime it up. You will also partly use the second ones to refill and top it off. The ink should last a year and a half or so but that would all depend on how much you use it. They each have individual numbers and keys on the top of the bottles, so you know where to put each color. To me it also saves from a lot of unnecessary cartridge fills. It comes with a driver’s DVD but you can also just download them from your computer. It comes with easy and clear instructions on how to set it up. It has a good size touchscreen in the front that is easy to navigate through all the different settings. It does however take a while to get it all set-up due to having to pour in the ink and set the paper. There are numerous options to look at for your needs. This printer has everything a home office and a household would need. It comes with the printer, scanner, fax, and a copier all-in-one. It is meant for big jobs and to print out a lot of paper. I have taken several photos one in full color and one in black and white, I like that the printer has easy access to paper size, it can print envelope size to letter size and has three different areas to print from which in all holds 500 pieces of paper. There is a rear paper cartridge and two front ones that give you a lot of options to choose what you would like to get printed and what size. I printed out several things for my home office including full size book projects, a bunch of photos, and several game and puzzle magazines for my kid and myself. I also copied several important documents and I like the fact that it can also copy both sides which saves me paper because I use it a lot. You can scan from the printer to your cloud, email, and computer. I love that it prints very fast even when it prints double sided. I love everything about this printer. The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 is an outstanding all-in-one printer for business and home office use. It delivers incredibly fast and sharp prints, supports duplex printing and scanning, and its ink tank system lasts much longer than traditional cartridges—saving both time and money. The wireless setup is seamless, and the touchscreen makes navigation simple. It's a bit of an investment, but the performance and ink efficiency are worth it.

I have been a long Epson user both home and work. I've have a Workforce 845 at home, a small inkjet at work and an Epson 9890 wide format at work. This ET-5850 will replace the small unit I have at work. Wanted a dual tray MFP and was intrigued by the EcoTank. The one reason I switched to Epson printers many years ago was the fact that you could replace individual inks when one ran out, not the whole cartridge. EcoTank looks to be a step beyond individual cartridges. Unpacking the unit, careful it is heavy, was straightforward. Setting up the unit for the first time was easy and quick. The power cord is long and has the "mickey mouse" plug at the printer instead of the typical IEC end. Not a big deal. Power-up then asks you to fill the tanks. The touch screen is nice and bright, adjustable angle and responsive. It walks you through the whole process. Once all tanks are filled (it comes with 2 bottles of each color) it starts to prime the unit. You can see the level of each ink on the outside front of the unit. First fill gets it almost to the top line. Then it starts to prime, once done it goes down quite a bit, but I know there is a full bottle in there. The prime process takes about 9 min, during that time I downloaded all the software on my PC. Mostly updates to the programs I already use. Once unit is done priming, I setup the wireless portion. Quick and easy. Found both 2.4 and 5ghz SSIDs in the house and connected and found a firmware update. Once the software was up and found the printer, it also found the firmware and I pushed it from the computer. Took some time to reboot, but painless. Now the test print. Windows found the printer and sent the test page. Started immediately. To my surprise the output tray gets pushed out to catch the prints automatically! Cool feature. Print was very fine text and bright color, even on plain paper. I had just plain LTR paper loaded into tray one. Nothing in tray 2. I then puled out my Android phone and printed a PDF I had on there. Epson iPrint was able to find the printer and printed easily, just like I expected. With the current quarantine from covid19 I wont have this in the office for a few weeks, but using it at home till I can get there. So far scanning and printing have gone as expected. I feel like this is an excellent example of Epson printer tech that will continue to work for a long time. I think the EcoTank will keep the costs down in the long run as compared to individual cartridges. “This is a review for the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-5850 Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”
