So I was a bit skeptical when the EpiqVision Mini EF11 Laser Projector was delivered. We were looking for a projector to use around the house, but also something we could take on the road. Well, Epson has certainly created a very mobile high-end projector.
In the box there is the projector, power cord/brick, a remote and quick setup guide...that's it. My first thought was, jeeze, no HDMI cable. I get it, everyone has a bunch of them at this point, but was still a little surprised. After taking a look through the Quick Setup guide, I grabbed one my Roku boxes and connected it via HDMI cable to the projector. Connected the power cord and turned everything on...voila! It couldn't have been easier. The Roku menu was not a massive image on the bedroom wall, approximately a 150" 1080p screen!
Picture - In terms of the picture, there is a manual focus adjuster, but very little adjustment seemed to be needed. Even with being projected on to a light cream-colored wall, the picture was still very impressive. If you’re expecting the same output of your 4K TV, you need to set your expectations a bit differently. The output was so impressive, I’ve started construction on a multi-media room with a projection screen to take advantage of the new projector.
Sound - The sound is one of the less impressive aspects of the system, but is easily overcome by using the headphone jack to connect external speakers. The native audio is a meek 1.5W per channel mono speaker system. There is one speaker for highs and a bass specific used for the lows. The system is serviceable, but most users who are used to modern soundbars/etc. will not be impressed.
Size – This is one of the highlights of the system, it’s small, very small and light. We plan on taking it on the road and based on its size will be very easy to store without taking up much room. The power brick is actually about 20% of the size of the actual projector.
Connectivity – There is a single HDMI for connecting to your selected system, I used a Roku box and it was easy to connect and use. There’s also USB-A port for connecting flash drives, cameras, etc. There’s also a headphone jack. Miracast is also supported for casting to the projector.
Adjusting – there is a full menu for adjusting the picture and audio output. Just a couple of the many available adjustments, the system will correct color and the audio can be set to a number of different listening modes.
Pros:
- Portability – this thing is small and light, 4 pounds light.
- Ease of use – connect your streaming or storage device and turn the system on you’re ready to go!
- Output – at 1080p the video is crisp and impressive
- Operational sound – this unit is quiet, it’s not the old science class projector – 27 decibels
Cons:
- Audio – Native 1.5W Mono audio
- Must use remote to operate projector
Overall the Mini EF11 is super easy to setup and use. The output is very impressive and the unit is very compact and portable. I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a projector to use at home or on the road.

The picture quality is great for my room, colors look vibrant and accurate. I'm able to get a sharp picture all the way across the surface.
Cons:
- The fan is fairly loud and it noticeably increases the room temperature.
- When using the keystone correction the empty space is not completely black so you can see the outline of the full area.
- About one in five times I turn it on, the fan turns on full blast, there's no picture, and the power button does nothing so I have to unplug it and plug it back in.
- My Chromecast can't reliably turn it off but I'm not sure which device is causing the issue.

The Epson EpiqVision Mini EF11 Laser Projector in Black is a compact and versatile home entertainment solution that truly impressed me. Its sleek black design seamlessly blends into any living space, making it aesthetically pleasing.
The image quality is exceptional for a projector of this size and price range. The laser projection technology delivers sharp and vibrant Full HD (1080p) visuals with impressive color accuracy and brightness. Whether you're watching movies, gaming, or giving presentations, the EF11 provides a clear and immersive experience.
What sets this projector apart is its simplicity and convenience. It's incredibly easy to set up and comes with built-in speakers that offer decent sound quality. The Android TV platform built into the projector allows you to access a wide range of streaming apps, eliminating the need for additional devices.
The EF11 also boasts excellent connectivity options, including HDMI, USB, and wireless casting. The inclusion of auto-keystone correction and autofocus ensures hassle-free projection alignment and clarity adjustment.
One drawback is that it's not suitable for large, well-lit rooms due to its limited brightness compared to larger projectors. However, for smaller spaces, it performs admirably.
In summary, the Epson EpiqVision Mini EF11 Laser Projector is an outstanding choice for those seeking a compact and stylish projector with impressive image quality and ease of use. It's perfect for home entertainment and offers great value for its price.

5 stars for the product
2 stars for Best Buy policies
2 stars for the salesperson
Great image and nice and compact. The only down side is that it does not have a lens cover.
I didn’t like the fact that Best Buy charges a 15% restocking fee if I wanted to return the device. I almost didn’t purchase it for that very reason. I also was disappointed with the salesperson’s lack of knowledge/interest... when I asked if the device had a speaker, he said he didn’t know, and made no effort to find out. Additionally, he tried selling me something I didn’t need, as the device does have an internal speaker.

This projector is the best thing I have used to date I had a older one that was blurry and did not offer any features but this on the other hand is crystal clear it was easy to set up and the picture gets huge 150" to be exact out of box you receive the projector a power block and a remote with batteries included along with a quick setup guide in multiple languages easy setup and crystal clear projection the only con I would say about this projector is it runs pretty hot I'm assuming from the electric it draws from the power block but it does get hot to the touch I would worry about it if using for a prolonged time but if you intend to just watcha movie here or there it should be fine I would just recommend unplugging when finished using “This is a review for the Epson EF-11 Laser Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

I bought this to use for an outdoor movie set up and was recommended this item because I was told it had a great picture easy step up and had a battery that would go for around 4 -hours.
It's got a decent picture is fairly bright and easy set up but the speakers are worse than the ones on your computer. It has no battery so your stuck with hooking it up to power. I was disappointed in the one hdmi port, one USB c and an audio out and that's it. It's missing alot of features and ports that are available on budget models. I took it back took the hit on the restocking fee it's not worth 900 bucks.. If it went on sale for 500 I still wouldn't buy it. There are way better projectors out there and this isn't worth the price.. Your paying for the name and an above average picture. They don't even give you a storage case lol for 900 bucks.. Budget ones give you that for 200 bucks. I was pretty shocked that this thing was recommended by staff and I was mislead about the battery. It was worth the 130 I paid on restocking to give it back to them.

This Epson projector is a great little machine. When it arrived I was so excited I immediately took it out of the box to set it up. Set up was an absolute breeze and the instructions were very thorough. I was able to quickly set everything up to start watching videos.
This projector is great for the office or for at home videos. The picture quality is phenomenal. I was astounded at how clear the picture was. I’ve owned several other small projectors, but this one takes the cake. Best picture quality and easy set up.
I truly believe this is an exceptional projector and highly recommend it.

Really Awesome. Worth it. I had a bigger Epson LED projector for years, and this one is so much nicer. It's small and light, stays cool, almost silent (small whir of a fan if you listen close), amazing resolution, instant brightness.

The solid state laser and 3 chip DLP design is an absolute WINNER! I am mesmerized by the overall image quality, low power consumption, brightness and small form factor of this projector. This little box produces amazing color and sharpness in a dark room. Projecting on a plain wall still produces excellent results. There is still enough brightness that it can still be used for presentations with decent results in a room with ambient light.
Short throw is fantastic for projecting in tight spaces. There is also a threaded mount (1/4-20) on the bottom that allows mounting on a tripod for further flexibility of location. There is no optical zoom but you can make use of a digital zoom feature to make the image size smaller for situations where you cannot adjust the projector location.
USB Slideshow mode is a nice feature for standalone projection at a party or other gathering.
Minor Complaints:
Needs a streaming device or computer. Support Miracast but would also love to see if it support AirPlay
Built in speaker is weak and no built-in bluetooth out feature
USB mode is very limited. You can put movies on a thumb drive but it does not support MPEG-4. Only AVI at resolution at 720p or less
Does not work with the Epson projector app
All projector adjustments are made from the remote. Misplace the remote and you are SOL until you order a new one.
The EF-11 was not intended to be a standalone device and the EF-12 does solve the connectivity issues but reportedly that projector has significantly more input lag / latency due to the android OS overhead. Unofficial reports put the input lag for the EF11 at 50ms compared to 120ms for the the EF12. Neither are fantastic but the EF11 is at least acceptable for casual gaming. I went with the EF11 because I would primarily be using an AppleTV streaming box and a battery powered bluetooth speaker. Serious gamers may want to look at the BenQ X1300i projector. At twice the cost, more than 2x the physical size and 3x the power consumption that projector was not for me. For my use, power consumption and small size are more important than optimizing for gaming.
For my use, connecting the EF11 to an Apple TV alleviates all of the connectivity issues. I can use AirPlay, Stream from any service (Plex, Netflix, YoutubeTV, etc) and connect audio to a portable bluetooth speaker or headphones when traveling or my HomePods when at home. It does add some bulk and additional cabling but still very manageable. For more portability, I may use a Raspberry Pi or my iPhone (with a lightning to HDMI cable) to connect directly to the projector.
One of my main goals for the projector is for an outdoor movie theater when traveling. For additional portability I have a Jackery Explorer 300 which was inexpensive and provides plenty of power for an evening. The EF11 manual states 100w consumption. In practice, when I use my Apple TV and the EF11 I am consuming 72Watts which allows for ~4hrs of continual use with the Jackery 300.
Despite my original intent, I will be using this projector as much while at home as I do when traveling.

This is a pricey little gadget, but it has great picture and is easy to use. The speaker is nothing ro write home about but i used an aux cord to hook up a nice speaker and it worked great. Used it for the the firsr time to watch game 7 with extended family outside. Used the garage door as the screen which worked nicely. Could have gone bigger but didnt have anything bigger to project on.

IMPRESSIVE: compact size, low fan noise for luminance, display adjustment options, picture quality. MEH: Proprietary EPSON mounting bracket is both important and unavailable, peak fan loudness is surprisingly noisy – but rare. NOT IDEAL: There is no mention of an ability to update firmware. OVERALL: Love it; very good value.

I returned this for a 2300 lumen 4k projector and I almost regret it, the laser was very good compared to LED and the 1080p was sufficient given the distance I was sitting from the picture. If you get this and you want to upgrade, invest in a black projector screen before upgrading the projector itself.
My grievance with this is that the USB does not power the Chromecast I bought to go with it.

Big performance in a small package. For the size, this laser projector is bright and clear. While still best viewing in semi-dark rooms or where there isn't ambient light, it performs well and easy to use. For the price, a great buy. We were shocked with how bright the projector is.

Very pleased with this purchase. Super easy set up using a roku device and a blu ray player. Hooked up a portable JBL Go2 speaker and I was all set. The picture looks very good & clear. Doesnt really need a screen at all but I purchased one of those foldable ones anyway from Amazon.

This is as close to the plug-and-play as one can get! Power it up, then plug in an active computer and it starts displaying what's on the computer's monitor. It has an extensive menu system that allows a multitude of parameter adjustments. It has been great for displaying images, videos and PowerPoint presentations for our Rotary Club and in our apartment. The separate power supply also keeps heating of the projector enclosure less warm, an added design advantage. We're delighted with this projector!
