Customers highly value the Home Cinema 3800 4K 3LCD Projector with High Dynamic Range for its exceptional picture quality and brightness. Users find it relatively easy to set up and appreciate its minimal noise level and helpful HDR. Additionally, a few users feel that the built-in speakers could be improved.

Could not be more pleased with this projector.
Picture quality is simply unbelievable at a diagonal size of 102 inches, projecting 120 inches from ceiling mount (with the V12H808001) onto a bare wall. Highly adjustable to compensate for lighting and mounting variances.
In a well-lit room with LED can lights on there's minimal washout during the morning, evening or overcast mid-day. However, noticeable washout occurs with can lights off on clear days in the afternoon within a room of 5ft x 7ft windows covered by standard blinds. Room darkening shades is the answer although we used for several months without.
We have it mounted 4 feet in front of and 4 feet above our ears when seated in our favorite spot. Fan noise is not noticeable at this range, although if closer it may be depending on your preference.
Bear in mind you'll need an eARC adapter (such as 4K Arcana 18Gbps by HD Fury) to split the signal from your streaming box to connect a soundbar such as the Sonos Beam Gen 2. In such as a case you will not have a visual means of volume level, although for us this has not been an issue at all.
We are so pleased with this projector as our primary means of video entertainment and will never go back to a legacy screen experience.

Great projector. Quiet and has a great picture especially for the price. Fairly easy to set up. One minor issue is that I couldn't get it to project at an angle from my ceiling, so the whole projector has to be angled down to get the picture to fit right. Mild issues with the screen adjustment, but works great so far!!

Excellent quality. Brightness is good even in high light environments. Projected on a grey 150 inch silver ticket screen. The in house speaker is actually decent but obviously not for home theater purposes. Overall happy with the purchase and definitely would recommend.

I had previously owned, and LOVED, my Epson 2150 projector that was 1080p and felt that I would get a 4K HDR projector this time around after 4 years with the Epson 2150 (JUST got a new bulb for it this year too! Lasted a long time!). I was VERY impressed with this Epson 3800 when I first set it up. Colors were bright and contrast was GREAT, typical of Epson in my experience, and much to my surprise it got even BETTER after calibrating the projector using settings I found in a review online! I highly recommend this 4K projector for anyone considering. It's a REALLY GREAT VALUE and replacing a bulb every 4 years for $70 is worth it! I also have 3D glasses from my Epson 2150 and they work even better with the Epson 3800 and 3D movies. Also, I did watch lots of 4K HDR content and I have to say that, unless it is HDR, 4K is not much better than 1080p. However, when you do get to witness 4K HDR it is AMAZING. It's just too bad there are so few 4K TV Channels in 2021. Netflix is doing a pretty good job of making up for it though and Xfinity's 4K live Soccer, Football, etc coverage is pretty nice even though it's limited to only certain games and not every game. Overall, this purchase would not be a disappointment for anyone who is in the price range.
I forgot to add that this projector has low input lag and I have been gaming online competitively with it and it has worked VERY well. Even to the point of winning tournaments so gamers need not worry so much. Great projector!

looks great with 4k hd uhd. Hooked up to my xbox & sony receiver. My xbox 1st told me my resolution was not HD and 4k 10bit. I checked all my setting & receiver but nothing. it was my old 2014 hdmi cables. I purchased the audio quest SKY hmdi's & it automatically changed all my settings t 4k UHD 10 bit etc. i replaced my epson Home Cinema 3600-this one is a tad smaller & MUCH better, ready for new xbox & true 4K.

Epson LCD projectors come with great color out of the box and are easy to set up and use. I bought this as a 4K upgrade to the 3100 Home Cinema and am very happy with its performance. It is smaller and lighter than most projectors in its class, weighing in at only 15.2 lbs. The 4010 Home Cinema weighs over 24 lbs. With minor calibration, watching films with this projector is a true cinematic experience.

Replaced my 8 year old Sony projector that worked fine, but was seriously outdated. The Epson is a decent projector for the price point, but don't expect super crisp images like OLED or a good LED. Took quite some time to get the image to my liking. I would HIGHLY recommend not feeding this a 4K HDR signal. I'm using an Apple TV and with a 4K signal, I just wasn't happy with the image. When feeding a 4K signal, you are bypassing the on-board image processing. So switching to 1080p HDR significantly improved the image all around.
I wish there were options on the remote to save picture settings. I find myself adjusting the HDR quite often depending on the movie. Additionally, if you are sitting near/under the projector, the fan is quite loud.
All this being said, for $1499, it's a pretty good option if you have a dark space.

Everything I was hoping for in a projector. Great for streaming movies, sports and gaming which all run through my xbox while I run audio through a yamaha AVR. Easy to setup with a ceiling mount. It made my movie room complete.
NOTE: It's a large unit w an audible fan and it needs space from the screen, but I am very happy with the purchase.

I use this projector for church purposes. Over the past two years, I have used four different projectors of the same brand and model. The image quality is good and clear; however, the lamp life is much shorter compared to other epson projectors.

Best projector for the price. Native 4k projectors are still too expensive, but I don’t think I’ll be upgrading any time soon, as the picture quality on this projector is better than expected. Works well with some light, I have it setup in my basement that I use as multi-purpose area, not a dedicated HT room.

serious signal loss

There's a serious issue with signal loss/poor signal using HDMI on Epson Projectors you won't hear much about. I can't get 4K HDR to work through any sound receiver. HDR only works with 1080p for some reason. And yes, both of my receivers support 4K HDR as they work fine on with my 4K TVs. Ok, nix the receiver and plugin directly to the projector you'd think? Now this would have been fine if there weren't another problem: that's not reliable either, no matter what device I'm using. I'd get picture for a bit, but after the show is over and attempt to play another one or switch tasks, there's about a 50/50 chance the screen will stay completely black and I'd have to either reboot the source or the projector itself. This is more likely to occur when connecting a PC for some reason but not exclusive to it. It's as irritating as it sounds. And this must be an Epson thing because I had the exact same behavior on my previous projector, the Epson 1060 Home Cinema. My first projector was a Mitsubishi DLP and I never experienced signal loss. This thing janks out atleast 10 times a day. I've tried all kinds of different HDMI cables and even converting from DVI. Same thing. Posting this as warning to people considering this product because I'm tired of this thing and will be replacing it with a large screen TV at some point.
Pros: It's very quiet and very bright. I don't even have to close the curtains.

I upgraded to this Epson Home Cinema 3800 from a BenQ MH530FHD 1080p and the difference between the two is simply amazing. Yes it is a bigger and heavier projector but the picture quality and included features more than make up for it. I am very satisfied with my choice and would highly recommend buying this instead of any other more expensive models.

Its been a year since I had purchased this projector and overall its a nice one with good picture quality, color/contrast ratio with in built speakers that offer decent sound. However there is no inbuilt WIFI (there is however an external dongle available in Epson if you want to stream from mobile devices). Watching movies from Netflix and Prime takes you to the edge as it delivers theatrical performance with visibly no lag in terms of rendering pitch black to vivid frames and offers smooth flow of frames. My screen size is ~133 inches and had to mount it about ~13 feet from the wall. The remote has a backlit button that eases finding buttons when playing movies.
The only drawback is that even with 3000 lumens it requires a complete dark room to be able to enjoy the experience, which otherwise leads to color bleeding. I had 3 windows in my loft that made the place quite bright during the day and had to install 100% light blocking curtains to darken the room for watching during day time.
Overall its a good investment if you are looking for a budget 4k projector.

We have had Epson Projectors and all have been very good quality and this one is also.
Image is Sharp, deep blacks and very bright even in rooms with daylight. Zoom and focus smooth. Action movies show detail even in fast sequence. Pause, still frame is very clear.
I would highly recommend to all. Like light weight and 3000 lumens power.

I purchased the Epson Home Cinema 3800 projector, universal mount and 25 foot HDMI cables in time for our Super Bowl party. Installation was rather easy, the ceiling mount worked like a champ and the projected picture is absolutely beautiful! I enjoy a 120" diagonal picture without the heavy flatscreen, TV stand, or a wall mount that does a number on my walls. As for a "movie theater" experience, you cannot beat this set up when paired with a great sound system, AND, it's very, very affordable!

This projector is a really great projector in about the first year or so. Around a year after years, you will notice that the lens will start to get a little cloudy on the inside. Unsure if that’s from use or humidity, but it causes white images against a black background to be kind of cloudy. I also randomly got a blue circular dot about 4 inches in diameter on the lower right of the screen one day. Came out of nowhere and it won’t go away for the price. I wish it would last a little bit longer, but it is a good projector as long as maybe you aren’t as unlucky as me and have these issues. It does have great picture quality. The internal speakers are surprisingly good and it has a lot of good image enhancement options. It does give off a lot of heat as expected so make sure you are either in a air-conditioned room or room with good ventilation.

My wife and I feel like there's almost no need to ever go to the theater again. This projector is very clear, easy-to-use, and plays extremely well with the rest of our AVR / 11.2 speaker / screen home theater set-up. Just watched "Ford vs. Ferrari" and it was like we were in the pits at Le Mans.
