I've been wanting a projector for a long time and December 2013 I settled for a 70 inch TV. Well may 2014 I got the itch again cause the 70 is too small to watch from 15-16 feet away. I was recommended this projector by the sales Representatives cause of the contrast, colors, lumens, and customer reviews they've heard. They did offer me 2000.00 dollar one but they said for what I need it was this would do the job. Well I took it home together with a universal mount and found out its difficult to bolt up the holes are place kinda weird but it is doable cause I figured it out (rigged it) I suggest to buy the correct one. I have double curtain and a blind in between the curtains. It looks great it is very bright. My room is pitch dark and this lights up the room . I tried it with the curtains open it still was very visible. Not practical but viewable so it will work in not so dark room just not the bright ones. The colors are amazing, the picture quality is good for a 720p projector. I have it connected to a ps3 @ 1080p via a 4k surround sound receiver. Now the internal speaker is plain trash YOU WILL NEED SPEAKERS. The fan is loud but with external speakers it bearly audible. Contrast is okay it could use better blacks. But not too bad. The zoom is a little touchy but easy to work with. Overall I like it for the price I paid $548 they price match to amazon. Get it if you are not super picky. I have this to use over the 70 inch TV for special movies or events with family. Not used daily.

This is an excellent projector. I bought it to replace my optima projector that had a chip go bad. It gives me a ten foot HD TV screen and I couldn't be happier. I don't know why people spend over a thousand dollars on flat screen TV's when for around six or seven hundred bucks you can buy a projector and get twice the screen size. The most common excuse I get is that my room is not big enough. Well my TV room is small and it works great. I just shine it on a plain white wall and even with the lights all on it looks great. Turn out the lights and it is movie theater quality. The only complaint I have with this projector is that is doesn't have an audio out. That's it. I have my Xbox, Roku, Blu-ray and a laptop all connected to it. I could very easily connect cable or dish to it if I had one but I just use the Roku for my TV needs. If you want a great viewing experience for a good price then here you go.

hdmi right from the blu-ray player. plugged in and turned on. messed with the movie / game mode settings. waited until dusk. I took a white sheet over a black sheet and hung it across the kids swing set. instant outdoor movie theater. added refreshments (and a little bug spray). perfect for outdoor showings!! colors were vibrant. I had no issues seeing the movie. no lag in video. I had to turn down the on board speaker so it wouldn't interfere with my surround sound. the 3,000 lumens were even bright enough to outshine that pesky outdoor porch light that kept coming on. (yes, I hit the switch on that after a couple of times). i am sure on a proper projector screen it would look even better. I didn't want one of the giant ones that BBY offers and this had better contrast then the one with wifi (seemed to be a similar model). very happy.

OK I did all my research on projecters for awhile and I came across this one I bought it at the store very light weight very easy set up at first I was second guessing it because the picture quality wasn't good but it was because I was using an RCA cable so I switched to HDMI and low and behold the true colors and quality came out nice crisp image on the wall or screen and another amazing thing that makes it over the top is that it still works perfect with kr without the lights still a great picture I'm loving every bit of it I don't think I would ever buy a TV again this product from Epson is well for your money

This is an excellent projector for indoor or outdoor use. The 3000 lumens will useful for people wanting to create a large 200 inch outdoor screen. It's also helps that it is lightweight and compact. The only downsides is the 1280 by 800 resolution and fan noise in NORMAL mode. In ECO mode you won't notice it, especially in a HT with wham bam explosions going on.
Another plus is the low price for the replacement bulb. Epson sells them for $99 which is far less then the $200 to $500 other projectors lamps would run you. The lamp should last 6000 hours on ECO mode if used properly.
The resolution is OK and looks good with proper hi-def material but 1080p would be better for videophiles. Maybe consider the HC2030 that Best Buy sells.

All in all, this is a great projector to have. Its light weight, portable and easy to use. Great quality of picture or what's being played. Its so clear, I love it. The only down side, which is a big one, is that there are two outputs which can't be directly hooked up from projector to speakers or sound system. We had so many problems with this and no one told us to buy an optical cable for it. We had brought all other cable wires with no success. Instructions should be more clear and specific. Would have gave 5 stars, but considering what we went through I give it 4 stars.

Pros: Experience of buying at Bestbuy... Good picture quality, brightness and color. Projector is not big and bulky.
Cons: It appears that the projector bulb heat is high. If the room is not big then you can listen the projector (fan) sound.

Bought it to watch movies on the garage door. Worked really good. The internal speaker was ok for when my wife and I were sitting right next to the projector but when we had guests over we brought out a receiver and speakers.
Also used it at a music fest. Projected it at the back of a white sheet to watch a photo slideshow and run the winamp visualizer "milkdrop" during the bands sets.
I like having the different inputs and how easy it is to switch between them.

My wife wanted a projector to have our own outdoor movie nights. The projector is great and easy to hook up. Just make sure you have a a separate source for your audio since the projector does not output from the unit. We have used it twice now and it has made watching movies fun. Now we just need to find a white sheet big enough for the screen size to be 300 inches.

It is a great projector for movies except that it gets loud and hot from time to time. It has a very easy set up and it is nice that it has different inputs. It requires an external speaker for a large crowd since internal speakers are not powerful.

I bought this item with the intent of using it just to watch movies and events on pay per view as I don't really watch tv. I have not been disappointed. It has replaced my tv. It is a huge screen for half price. Inow watch Netflix, son plays games with ps4 using it and I use it sometimes for computer screen. This is by far one of the best purchases I have made.
Our TV broke and this has replaced it.
Picture is great even on a wall in fully lit rooms it is sharp.
Sound not bad but recommend separate speakers. If you dont have them it is ok
This is an excellent buy. Well worth it even if just to watch movies or big game
