I have owned quite a few Escort radar detectors over the past 20+ years and I do really like how this one has the arrows that show where the radar is coming from. I don’t think I would want another radar detector without the arrows. customer Service has always been great if you have a question or issue that you have to call Escort for.

Works as advertised. It has been learning my area (Northern New Jersey) and reducing false alarms. Excellent notice for
real 5-0. Mine is mounted low on custom made pedestal behind inspection sticker. Not optimum placement but stealthy and still works great. I put a ball cap over it when leaving in parking lots or streets

This product does exactly what it is supposed to. I have only had one false alert in just under 3 weeks. It especially nice if you have a dash cam that works with the Drive Smarter app. They work together with CarPlay.

Excellent product and very accurate on detecting certain elements. I had this installed by Best Buy technicians and I used the direct wire on / off kit with the mute and data collect button in my 2020 Chevrolet Camaro SS.
I highly recommend this product and am 100% happy with the detector and installation.

Enthusiast-Level Radar Detector

This is the first radar detector I've ever used. I decided to order this after recently getting slapped with a ticket from a photo radar trap in my own city, and it seems like new photo radar cameras are popping up every week around me. They are even being placed inside unmarked vehicles and hidden off the side of the road, moving to new, random places every day. Enter the Escort Max 360 MKII. I'll admit that I was initially intimidated by the number of settings, acronyms, and radar band types, but after several hundred miles of driving over the past couple of weeks, I can safely say that the 360 MKII does almost all the work for you.
===PROS===
- If this is your first radar detector, the good news is that the Max 360 MKII is basically plug-and-play. The included mount is incredibly easy to adhere to your windshield and the power cord plugs into a standard 12 volt socket.
- The radar detector magnetically attaches to the windshield mount and is surprisingly sturdy. I've driven over some serious bumps and potholes and it has stayed firmly in place. It is also very easy to slide the detector off the windshield mount when you are done driving. This is very nice as I live in a major city and would prefer to lock it in my glove compartment between trips rather than leave it visible on my windshield.
- A nice carrying/storage case is included, which is large enough to hold the radar detector and power cord.
- There is a mute button on the power cord, which is a must-have for me since I did not want to have to reach up to my windshield to mute the radar detector.
- In my two weeks of using this, I have not had any false signals from the radar detector. Radar is everywhere on the road these days - in blind-spot systems, garage doors, and more. Every time the detector has alerted me, I've been able to see a police car, digital speed sign, or photo radar camera.
- The 360 MKII has blue directional arrows on all four sides around the display, which is an excellent feature that points to the source of the alert. It works well most of the time, but I found that it often has a bit of a delay (maybe 2 or 3 seconds) before the arrows settle on pointing in one direction.
- You can connect the 360 MKII to the Drive Smarter app via Bluetooth, which is really the easiest way to manage the various settings that are available. You can also leave it connected via Bluetooth while you drive to get advanced, real-time alerts about laser and radar locations that other users have recently reported.
- Enthusiasts will love the amount of settings available in the app and through the on-screen menu. You can customize exactly which bands you want to scan for, change the display color, display advanced signal strength meters, and much more. One day I will find the time to sit down and understand all of them.
===CONS===
- The radar detector can alert you about speed and red light cameras, but you will need to pay a subscription fee to keep this database updated. Additionally, you will have to physically plug in the device to your computer via USB and use the Detector Tools PC application to perform database and firmware updates. Unlike the pricier 360c model, this standard 360 model does not support Wi-Fi connections.
- While I haven't had any false alerts, I've noticed that the 360 MKII begins its audible alerts VERY early sometimes. For instance, the last time it alerted me to a Ka-band detection, I didn't see the police car until almost a mile up the road. So I guess it's doing its job, but it can certainly be sensitive sometimes.
- The power cord is long enough for my Jeep Grand Cherokee (with the 12 volt socket directly under the radio/climate controls). But I don't think it would be long enough to reach into the center console of most vehicles without it getting in the way.
===OVERALL===
I really don't have many criticisms of the 360 MKII. I was worried that it would be hard to learn and use or distracting while I was driving, but that's not the case at all. Anyone can use this, so don't be intimidated. Enthusiasts will love the advanced settings and features, and everyone else can drive with a little extra peace of mind. Highly recommended!

Purchased this radar to replace my Valentine 1. Having the app to utilize along with the detector is extremely helpful. I also bought the Uniden R8 for my wife’s vehicle (I wanted to compare the two). The R8 is a comparable detector as far as actual function, but the user friendliness of the Escort and ability to change settings from the app is pretty nice.

I have to admit, I’ve been out of the radar detector game for 20 years, but I’ve been doing a lot of interstate miles lately and figured I’d get back in.
Let me start off & say, I can’t test this with my own radar gear; I don’t have a Lidar gun for my wife to run at me and I don’t have a "Kustom" setup to stick on the side of the road and zap me; this is all based on in-town & highway driving.
My review will be focused on the Escort Max 360 MKII, however I may point out features that are lacking (or are better) on this detector vs other “unnamed” brands.
TL;DR for my frequent readers and details below.
Good:
Directional Arrows
Novice mode
Suction Cup, mag mount
Power Cord / Mute button
GPS for current Speed
Advanced Customization (sounds, bands, color)
Mounting hardware (magnetic + suction cup)
Alerting / Alerting Distance (pic)
Bogey Detection
Good at filtering Blind Spot Monitoring of other cars
Bad:
Some features (i.e. Auto Mute)
Speed Limit indicator (via the App)
Picky about USB Cables for firmware updates
Meh:
Carrying case
App / Bluetooth Connection
Lack of Frequency Voice alerts
In comparison to another radar detector (pic), the MKII is much larger and heavier. First thing I noticed was the side where the power / microUSB port is, is a bit creaky as you grip it, as it’s where my thumb lands. The bag it comes in has a quarter edge opening where you drop the detector in; the handle is on the opposite side, so don’t pick it up if you haven’t zippered it or – crash.
The windshield mount has a bit of grip on the suction cup & a nice snap which makes me believe it’ll stay put and the magnetic mount is great for easy take-off / put-on. Also included is a “smart” power cord with the curly part of the cable at the bottom (nice!), a USB port (2A) and mute button (pic).
Now, onto the features and functionality …
First, download the user manual to see which Advanced Settings you want to use from the bottom of the page (Installation & Downloads section of the included pamphlet). If you want to manipulate the settings on the detector itself you can, however the idle timeout is fast, so know the setting you want.
Next, download the Drive Smarter App. Drive Smarter is the App to install, which not only registers your radar detector but lets you change the features that are enabled / disabled, gives current Speed Limit to your detector, as well as other App settings. While you drive, running the App isn’t mandatory, however you do lose the current Speed Limit & the ability to mute on the App (vs the button on the power cord or unit itself), but also report each detection. While pretty cool, the App does seem to use a decent amount of battery so keep your phone/tablet plugged in.
Don’t want to tweak and tune all the settings, but want more of a Highway / City radar detector? Sure, that capability is there, but it’s a fairly expensive detector to not do the homework to see what settings you should be running. Curious about those settings in the US? Check out the ‘rdforum’ thread 58040 out for some band segregation guidance.
After tweaking and tuning, I found that AutoNoX (pics are while I was messing with the values) as X band isn’t in my area for Police Radar.
I did get some alerts on the Highway for speed signs and the local County & Highway Patrol radar traps hit every time; I even caught a Highway Patrol running always-on while driving in the night (see circled SUV in pic), which is cool because I wasn’t aware they did this in my area amd each time, I got a decent directional arrow - forward / sides / rear. When approaching areas that Waze has marked as having a presence, I got around 1 mile of warning off the Ka band and in some cases, I had a few miles of warning but never had to go all the way before turning off - but the detector was chirping.
When getting a few alerts at the same time, Bogey Detection is clean and there’s a clear alert to another detection & indication of the direction of each. Cars with Blind Spot Monitoring can generate false positives and I was listening for them and didn't appear to get tripped up by them which is a huge plus.
Some oddities that I ran into …
- Speed limit can be off by 1 MPH on the display - so, a 56 instead of 55 & 61 instead of 60. The speed limit in the App is fine, however.
- Caught a Highway speed sign running at 24.121GHz, indicated rear as it was in front of me and as I passed, then transitioned to side, then to rear. Maybe it was another sign, but it struck me as odd
- Auto Mute didn’t work for me, it kept on false alerting in the same spot, day in & day out, regardless of a mute button press (no lockout)
- It was picky about USB cables when attempting to see if there was new firmware. If there’s no detector detected, get a different microUSB cable
Something I miss which my other detector has, is the announcing of the frequency after the band. So announcing “34.677” is helpful and lets me keep my eyes on the road because I’m becoming more familiar with the bands in use by the locals/highway.
A few decent websites for setting recommendations of a similar detector & where each band / Lidar is run in your state (people sourced).
Vortex Radar has a good demo on how to configure / setup your detectors — I used the Max 360c as an example.
Finally, lexbrook has a crowd sourced site that indicates the radar bands, lidar and where they do aerial patrol - very helpful.
So, how would I rate this? I’ll roll with a 4 as I can’t do 4.5. Mostly deducted due to the App and not announcing the band frequency. If that doesn’t matter to you, then you’d probably call it 5-stars.

Highlights:
Pros:
Lots of data available
Customizable
Arrived with latest firmware, no update needed
Nice power cable include, no curly section hanging in view
Easy suction cup/magnetic mount
OLED color changeable to match your dash colors.
Mute gps tagged false alarms
Cons:
Huge
Finicky USB (and not usb C)
Rather they kept the case and include hardwire cable
Another app to run on phone
Full Review:
Unboxing was uneventful. I don't know why a carry case is included? Do people actually use the case and travel with the detector or what? I would have much preferred a hardwire power cable be included. The app installed and connected without issue on my phone. The software downloaded and installed without issue. No firmware updates were found which means the detector shipped with the latest. The USB port is not a C, IMHO there is no reason any device should have anything but a USB C these days.. I had to take multiple looks at the USB slot on the detector, it did not look like a micro either. Had a hard time getting a cable plugged in. Looked at it very close, figured out which direction it needs to go, and it took a firm push to plug it in, to the point I was still scared it wasn’t aligned properly and I was going to break it.
Installing it in my truck was easy with the included power cable. The mount is nice, the gel on the suction cup seems to help it stick very well, I will see how well in a couple months when the sun is beating on it. The mount is nice in everyday use, but in an accident there's a good chance it’s going to become a projectile in the cockpit. I doubt the slot and magnet will hold it.
But now for the big ‘con’. This thing is HUGE, compared to my previous detectors. I like them installed as hidden and unobtrusive as possible. Between the mounting bracket and the detector, it occupies about 3-4 times the space as my previous detector did. No way for me to keep the ‘stealth’ look, even in a full size pickup truck.
Here’s an installation tip for the non-electrically challenged that want to hardwire without buying the factory cable. The power connector is a standard RJ22 mod plug. Power is on the center 2 pins. Do you own testing for positive and negative.
The app and the detector will keep you busy customizing the settings, IF you want to. The default settings seem to do just fine but I will probably end up tweaking the settings as I get more miles on it. And why do I need another app, can’t you get together and work something out with Waze so we can use 1 app and have one interaction on our Android Auto screens? I most likely will not be using the app and having to interact with 2 screens.
I love that it will lock out and mute false alarms with gps tagging.
Sensitivity seems to be great, I love the direction arrows to give you a clue as to where the bogie is.
Conclusion:
Every electronic device seems to be jamming more smarts in a smaller form factor, except this detector. Having said that, I like the features and operation, hate the size, usb and having to use another app. I have to deduct 1 star for these reasons.

The Escort 360 portable radar detector tool does what it is supposed to do to detect radar signals. The device is capable of detecting multiple radar bands K, KA, and X. It comes with a color screen and a small form factor design. I really like how it attaches to the windshield mount with a magnet. It is easy to mount and remove. This radar has built-in GPS and bluetooth connectivity. It has plenty of extra features but you will need to download the companion (Drive Smarter) app to take advantage of it.
I have been using it for the past few days. I can say it does the job well and is accurate when it detects the right signal. I took it for a 6 hour drive across two States and was getting lots of alerts. Lots of them were false to radars. But when you get the right one it is super accurate. It was so accurate it actually pointed to the right direction with the arrows that lights up on the device. I was also getting alerts from radar planes but when I looked up I didn't see a thing. I can’t confirm or deny it was a false alert when it comes to that. This thing was also able to pick up traffic light radars. It is cool how it will display the icon on the screen when you get certain alerts like planes and traffic lights.
With the app you can access the device settings. The device is able to display your current speed and the speed post it on the road. However, for that feature to work the app needs to be running on your mobile device. Once the application is closed you won’t be able to see the road speed limit anymore, only your current speed. The speaker used for the announcer is not the loudest and it is hard to understand. But once you hear the announcements a few times it becomes easier to figure out what it's saying. The alerts are very loud, you won’t miss that for sure. It’s very clever how you were able to mute the alert by pressing a button that’s on the cigarette lighter adapter. I really liked that. The adapter comes with a USB socket so you can charge your mobile device.
Overall this device does work and it’s accurate despite getting many false alerts. Thanks to the alerts arrow that will light up on the device you can easily figure out which direction the laser is coming from. The color screen will also tell you how far and how strong the signal is. It is light portable and easy to use In the box you get the radar detector, cigarette lights adapter, windshield mount, travel case and some manuals
