Max4 vs 8500x

I've owned an Escort for nearly 20 yrs. My second being a 8500x for 16 years. So the comparison between it and the Max4 are observed. The Max4 is an improvement in tech easily seen but it's detection range isn't which shocked me. I expected a large gap in detection between the 2 while running them simultaneous but it wasn't. This shows me how good my 8500x is. So, if you're upgrading for detection range, I suggest going to a better model or going to a Uniden R7 or R8. I took the Max4 back and got the Uniden R8 which is leaps above my 8500x, which it should be. I recommended the Max4 based on it's tech and does have good range, however there are much better options.

As a note, it is never recommended practice to run two radar detectors side by side, as they can interfere with each other’s signals. I was doing a lot of state to state travel due to a death in my family. This model is expensive! It saved me at least 3 times. I go t Best Buy first then Amazon second!

This escort works well in combination with the drive smarter app. It can also run stand alone, if you’re not too savvy with the tech side. There’s def some updates from the original and some features I haven’t even gotten in to yet.

I felt secure in the police alerts I received. For me personally I thought it gave too many "overspeed" alerts. Sometimes, I wasn't over the speed limit and sometimes, I exceeded the limit on purpose. But the false warnings made me a little skeptical about its accuracy.

Very impressed with the Escort Max 4. It was easy to set up and works like a charm. I also added the M2 dash cam. It is also neat, but I've had trouble accessing the Drivetime app. It only continuously loads.
